Prabhas, Snehawin singles inb'minton meet
Lucknow: clinched the women's singles title by defeating Priyanka Gautam in a thrilling three-set final with scores of 21-19, 15-21, 21-15 in the Late Ranbahadur Singh Memorial District Badminton Championship 2025, held at the BBD Uttar Pradesh Academy Hall in Gomti Nagar here. In the men's doubles, the pair of Farhan Khan (BBD) and Prabhas Kushwaha were declared winners by walkover, as their opponents Moksh Saswat and Siddharth Mishra had to forfeit due to an injury to Siddharth's knee. In the boys' under-19 singles, Nitesh Thakur (BBD) defeated Shivam Yadav (KD Singh) with scores of 21-19, 15-21 and won the match as Shivam retired before the third game. In the boys' under-15 singles, Harshit Yadav defeated Lonibon in a close match with scores of 15-21, 21-15, 21-17. The prize distribution ceremony was conducted by Viraj Sagar Das, chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Badminton Association and Navneet Sehgal, chairman, Prasar Bharati, Union govt. Seven more FIRs against Ansal API in land scam case
LUCKNOW : Seven more FIRs have been filed against Ansal API at Sushant Golf City Police Station in the alleged land scam case. With this over 75 cases have been lodged against the firm so far. In the fresh cases, it has been alleged that the company defrauded victims of more than Rs 1.06 crore in the name of plots and flats. According to complainant Ritu Singh, of Hindnagar on Kanpur Road, she booked a plot by paying Rs 62 lakh in 2010 but has not received the plot yet. Vibha of BBD's Manas Garden Colony booked a 162 sqm plot in 2011 and paid Rs 8.92 lakh in several instalments but didn't get possession of the plot. Hemant Dayal of Chandernagar in Alambagh booked two flats in the Paradise Diamond Project in his and his aunt Geeta's name by paying Rs 12.28 lakh in 2010. So far, they haven't received any flat. Another buyer, Chandra Prakash Singh of Govindpur in Prayagraj, booked a flat in 2010 and paid Rs 5.84 lakh. Laldhari Singh, Haresh Pratap Singh and Jagpal Singh of Prayagraj also booked flats and deposited Rs 5.84 lakh. But no one received the flats.

Father-son duo booked for kidnapping, raping minor
Lucknow: BBD police on Sunday booked a man and his son for allegedly kidnapping and raping a girl in the Tiwariganj locality. An FIR has been registered under charges of the POCSO Act , kidnapping a minor, and other relevant charges." According to the victim's father, his daughter was preparing for the SSC exams while staying at a relative's house in Lucknow. He alleged that on April 23, around noon, Vishal and his father, Jitendra, kidnapped the girl from Tiwariganj. The complainant further said that Vishal lured his daughter, a minor, into a love affair and made an obscene video of her. He also alleged that the accused raped his daughter multiple times while blackmailing her. Upon learning about the case, he filed a complaint against Vishal in Deoria. The victim's father alleged that after being released on bail, the accused began pressuring him for a settlement. He also expressed suspicion that his daughter may have been murdered and her body disposed of. According to Inspector Ram Singh, a search is underway for both the girl and the accused.
