BRS braces for BCs' meeting in support of 42 pc quota on Aug 8
Hyderabad: BRS leaders today announced a large public meeting for Backward Classes (BCs) in Karimnagar on August 8, demanding 42 per cent reservations for them in local body elections, as per the Congress party's Kamareddy declaration. Addressing a press conference today, BRS BC leaders, including MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav, S Madhusudhana Chari, and G Kamalakar, spoke out against the ruling party. Srinivas Yadav reiterated that the BRS had previously deemed the government's caste census unscientific. 'The BC Bill was passed in haste and sent to the Centre, and then an ordinance was brought. They celebrated as if something significant had happened with the ordinance,' he stated. He further mocked their recent visit to Delhi: 'They met with Rahul Gandhi in Delhi and felt like they had won the Nobel Prize. They said that they would allocate Rs 20,000 crore per year in the budget for BCs. Now they are going to play dramas in Delhi on August 5, 6, and 7.' The BRS leader demanded that the government should proceed with elections only after ensuring 42 per cent reservation for BCs. It is with this demand that the party will organise the public meeting on August 8 in Karimnagar. Yadav alleged that the Congress party has been 'cheating the BCs since independence.' He announced, 'We will meet the President in Delhi on behalf of BRS on BC reservations. Congress and BJP are playing dramas together. Congress is going to say that the BJP government has cheated and will give reservations on behalf of the party. If they go to the elections without giving reservations, the people will definitely teach a lesson to the Congress.' Madhusudhana Chari recalled that BRS had supported the BC Bill in the Legislative Council. He noted that the ruling party had stated they would take an all-party delegation to Delhi, predicting that the government would be 'embarrassed over BC reservations.' He challenged Rahul Gandhi's sincerity towards BCs, stating that if it were genuine, he should fulfil the promises made to BCs in the three states where Congress is in power. Gangula Kamalakar alleged that the Congress party was entirely about 'cheating the BCs.' He highlighted that BCs had voted for the Congress party based on the BC declaration. 'They said that they would give two Assembly seats to the BCs for each parliamentary seat. The Congress did not give a single Assembly seat to the BCs in the Nizamabad district,' Kamalakar claimed. 'It is clear that BC reservations will not come through an ordinance, with the Government Orders (GOs),' he concluded. Council Deputy Chairman Banda Prakash Mudiraj also addressed the press conference.

CM urged to take all-party team to New Delhi to apprise PM on BC bill
Hyderabad: The BRS leaders on Friday demanded the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to take the all party delegation to New Delhi and take up local body elections only after providing 42 per cent reservations to the BCs. Addressing a press conference here at Telangana Bhavan along with party leaders Ch Rakesh, Kishore Goud and MP V Ravichandra, the Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council S Madhusudana Chari said that Revanth Reddy's is known for giving promises and later forgetting them. CM Revanth Reddy is acting contrary to the promise he gave in the Legislative Council on 42 per cent reservation for BCs in local elections. Revanth broke his word by promising to take an all-party delegation to Delhi for the approval of the BC Bill. Despite going to Delhi many times, CM Revanth Reddy did not discuss the BC bill with PM Modi. Revanth is going to Delhi only to give kick backs. It has become clear that he has no sincerity towards the BCs. He said that even Ponnam Prabhakar had made several comments on BC Reservations. Ponnam Prabhakar is being made a scapegoat by the CM. The Congress party has never loved BCs. The Congress has a history of setting up commissions for BCs but failed to implement their reports. Madhusudhana Chari alleged that the Congress made false statements in the Kamareddy Declaration just for the votes of BCs in the elections. The Congress has given nothing to BCs even after two budgets. They said that Rs 20,000 crore will be allocated to BCs in the budget every year. They did not keep that promise. They cheated them by saying that there will be 42 per cent reservation in six months. The Congress party has no sincerity in anything. The BJP also has no concern for BCs. The central government has done nothing for BCs in eleven years. The BC ministry has not even been set up. Allocations in the budgets have also been reduced. He said that the elections should be held only after giving 42 per cent reservation to BCs in local body elections. MP V Ravi Chandra said that the Congress made many promises to BCs for votes in the elections but after coming to power, it forgot to implement the promises made to BCs.

Minister Ponnam questions BRS MLC K Kavitha's moral right to speak for BCs
HYDERABAD: Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Monday launched a scathing attack on BRS MLC K Kavitha, questioning her moral authority to speak on the welfare of Backward Classes (BCs). He said: 'It is ironic that someone who failed to address the issues of BCs for a decade is now pretending to champion their cause.' Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan, the minister asserted that the Congress government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, and guided by Rahul Gandhi's vision, has already passed the BC Bill and forwarded it to the Governor. 'This government is committed to the welfare of BCs, not merely in words, but through decisive action,' he stated. Ponnam Prabhakar remarked, 'If Kavitha had truly raised her voice for the weaker sections while the BRS was in power, there might have been some justification for her current stance. But after a decade of silence, she has no right to speak up for the BCs.' Referring to BJP Rajya Sabha MP R Krishnaiah's offer of support to Kavitha's proposed dharna, the minister said, 'As your younger brother, I request you not to sit beside those who ignored BCs for 10 years. Let's go to Delhi together. You take an appointment with the Prime Minister, and we'll all go as one voice.' Describing the BRS MLC as a political opportunist, he said, 'She is the kind of person who demands a recommendation letter even to serve food in a satram.' The minister called upon all parties to rise above politics and work together for the upliftment of the marginalised.
