Like in his debut, the powerhouse baritone puts his silky smooth vocals front and center. This time around, the production is polished — with a welcome Motown feel — and accentuates his flawless singing. Some of our favorite tracks here include the dreamy yet passionate 'Rather Be,' swooning, swelling 'Twenties' and haunting 'Strangers,' which is enhanced by its menacing beat that sounds like the footsteps of the stranger (his ex?) following Givēon. And, while we love those tracks, the highlights here have to be the magical 'Diamonds For Your Pain' that will make you feel like you're floating and groovy, blissed-out 'Backup Plan' that sounds more like a lost Khruangbin track. Both are exquisite and expertly enhanced by Givēon's flawless voice. Want to give the record a spin? Check out 'Beloved' here. Givēon special guests Not familiar with Givēon's opening acts? GIVĒON Serenades With His 'BELOVED' New Album

Summary GIVĒONhas just released his highly anticipated new album,BELOVED. Speaking on the project, he shared viaRatedR&B: 'BELOVED is a complete encapsulation of the very transformative growth I experienced over the past three years. My trials and tribulations — the good and the bad — all helped form this album.' The 14-track album showcases GIVĒON's signature low, raspy vocals across a range of R&B sounds, blending rich textures with intimate storytelling. It includes his hit single 'TWENTIES,' which recently charted on the US Billboard Hot 100. The album opens with a cinematic orchestration, setting the tone for a more reflective and evolved chapter in his artistry. While much of the project leans into an acoustic, stripped-down tone, one standout track — 'AVALANCHE' — introduces a more upbeat energy, providing a vibrant contrast to the rest of the record. Another highlight, 'I CAN TELL,' bridges GIVĒON's soulful vocals with a more sensual, groove-driven production. Layered with lush background harmonies, the track arrives as the album's sixth song and feels like a subtle pivot — closing the heartbreak – heavy first half and ushering in a more yearning, forward-facing tone. With pulsing drums and electric guitar, it captures a sense of longing and release, all while maintaining a rhythm that invites listeners to lean in and feel deeply. BELOVEDmarks a significant evolution in GIVĒON's sound. Departing from his earlier reliance on looped instrumentals, this album embraces live instrumentation — from cinematic strings and regal horns to rich, organic drums and jazzy tunes. The result is a project that feels both introspective and immersive, as if listeners are experiencing a live performance woven with nostalgia, romance, and vivid memory. It's a sonic journey that elevates GIVĒON's artistry while honoring the timeless roots of classic R&B and 70s soul. BELOVEDis now streaming on all platforms — listen to the full album below.
