CarExpert Choice winner: Best Luxury Large SUV

The Volkswagen Touareg has been named Australia's best large luxury SUV in the inaugural 2025 CarExpert Choice Awards. It beat out the related Porsche Cayenne, as well as the BMW X5, both of which were announced as finalists. While Volkswagen isn't a luxury brand per se, it has produced luxury vehicles over the years – and the Touareg is assuredly one of them. Hundreds of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now. Get the experts on your side and score a great deal. Browse now. It shares its platform with much more expensive SUVs across the Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini and Porsche brands, and yet it has a base price of under $90,000 before on-road costs. So while it may be more expensive than many large SUVs from mass-market brands, it's still a relative bargain. A recent update improved the Touareg's interior, which is attractively designed and rich with tech – you can even get Volkswagen's flagship SUV with night vision. Regardless of the variant, the Touareg offers a comfortable and refined driving experience. There's a choice of torquey six-cylinder turbo-diesel engines, as well as a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol plug-in hybrid system in the sporty R flagship. High-end hardware available includes auto-levelling air suspension, rear-wheel steering and active anti-roll stabilisation. You mightn't think to check out a Volkswagen dealership for a large luxury SUV, but you absolutely should. To see all the CarExpert Choice winners, click here. Remove Ads Ram Kapoor's Real Estate Empire and Upcoming Role If you are at the top of your game in the small screen industry, you can live a life of luxury without worrying about bankruptcy, revealed Ram Kapoor . In a candid chat with Humans of Bombay, the 'Bade Achhe Lagte Hai' star said that although TV stars are not paid as much as their big-screen counterparts, if you are a successful TV star and have invested wisely, you will have enough money to last multiple generations. Citing the examples of himself, his 'Bade Acche' co-star Sakshi Tanwar, and 'Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhie Bahu Thi' actor Ronit Roy, he revealed that each of them has earned enough to buy several luxury cars and Kapoor also spoke about his admiration for fine watches and luxury automobiles. While he tends to maintain a low profile regarding his personal collection, his love for high-performance vehicles is well known. Among the luxurious models in his garage are a Mercedes-AMG G63, BMW X5, Porsche, Ferrari, and the recently purchased Lamborghini Urus, which is reportedly worth over ₹5.21 he acknowledges public curiosity about celebrity lifestyles, Kapoor noted that he and his contemporaries don't believe in flaunting their wealth. Instead, they enjoy their possessions in private, away from the spotlight. He observed that many others in his position feel similarly, but due to his public profile, his lifestyle choices inevitably become public delving into his financial journey, Kapoor pointed out that the earnings from a single hit show that runs over several years can sometimes match or even exceed eight years' worth of standard salaries. Television, when consistent and successful, offers an actor not just fame but also long-term financial stability. Kapoor remarked that those who stay at the top for two decades or more—and manage their income prudently—can create wealth that will sustain at least three or four praised actors like Ronit Roy, who transitioned from struggling in films to finding massive success in television. Ronit, once unable to afford basic necessities, reinvented himself when given a chance by producer Ektaa Kapoor. He has since built an empire, including vacation homes and a magnificent villa in Goa, he revealed. Kapoor highlighted that such actors value their achievements deeply because they have tasted both failure and Kapoor's personal portfolio includes expansive homes in Mumbai, as well as luxurious retreats in Goa and Khandala. He also owns a high-value vacation property in Alibaug, estimated at around Rs 20 crore as per a Times of India Kapoor is set to portray a brilliant detective in the upcoming series Mistry. The trailer, released on June 9, introduces his character Armaan Mistry—an eccentric investigator with obsessive-compulsive disorder who solves crimes in unconventional ways. Alongside him, Shikha Talsania plays his assistant, while Mona Singh portrays a senior police officer. The show is scheduled to premiere on JioHostar starting June 27.

Ram Kapoor says he has earned enough money to support four generations, bought Rs 5 crore Lamborghini ‘without thinking'

Ram Kapoor became a household name after his roles in Kasam Se and Bade Ache Lagte Hai. Being among one of the highest-paid television stars of his generation, Ram Kapoor has collected several luxury cars, including Mercedes-AMG G63, BMW X5, a Porsche, a Ferrari, and most recently, a Lamborghini Urus worth approximately Rs 5.21 crore. The actor recently shared that he has earned enough money for at least four generations, and can afford expensive things 'without thinking' too much about it. In an interview with Humans of Bombay, the actor said, 'I have always been crazy petrol-head. I have really been into cars and bikes. People who are into cars and bikes like me, and people who can afford it, they mostly have these collections. The difference is mine is talked about, while my friends who have better collections than me are not in the public eye, because they mostly belong to the corporate world, theirs are not talked about. So if someone is a petrol-head like me, once you can afford it without thinking, you will have it because I don't like spending money on anything except that.' He added, 'Watches and cars are the only things I love, so people who can afford these watches they have fantastic watch collections. It's just that a lot of people who have it, they like to keep quiet about it. Even we want to keep quiet but unfortunately because I am in the public eye, the media gets to know about it. Yes, I do have a car collection. I have a Ferrari, a Porsche but the thing is we don't like to show it off.' ALSO READ | Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar: You're all very mean to Arjun Kapoor; all he needs is a great director to guide him Ram Kapoor said he never personally posts about any of his luxury purchases, but the news somehow gets out. 'When I bought the Lamborghini, I had clearly told the dealer that don't put press there. However, they had their in-house photographer. Now, the minute they uploaded it on their site, the media took it. How can I stop this? I am lucky that I can afford all this.' In the same interview, Ram Kapoor claimed that he along with his fellow actors like Sakshi Tanwar and Ronit Roy have earned enough for at least four generations. He said, 'It is not that television actors make as much as film actors. But if you have a hit show which lasts for 7-8 years and if you are at the top of television or making a lot of money, your per month cheque is equal to your salary for 8 years. People like me, Sakshi and Ronit, if you have been on television for 20 years and are sensible then you have made enough for at least 3-4 generations.' While Ram Kapoor invests his time and money in buying fancy cars and luxury watches, his wife Gautami Kapoor guides him when it comes to fashion. 'I do wear brands and all that but most of it is curated by my wife. She often suggests me new collections and trends.' According to reports, the actor owns a massive house in Mumbai, and also is the owners of lavish properties in Goa and Khandala. Apart from these, the actor also owns a vacation property in Alibaug worth Rs 20 crore.
