IAS coach faces legal action over ‘defamatory' remark against judiciary
Ajmer: The Judicial Magistrate Court No-2 here has taken cognisance against Vikas Divyakirti, founder and managing director of Drishti IAS coaching institute, for allegedly making defamatory remarks against the judiciary. The court presided over by Manmohan Chandel Tuesday charged Divyakirti under multiple subsections of Section 356 of the BNS Act 2023. Divyakirti has been directed to appear in person before the court on July 22. A petition filed in the court refers to controversial statements made by Divyakirti in a YouTube video titled "IAS versus Judge, who is powerful," where he allegedly made inappropriate comments about the process of becoming a high court or a Supreme Court judge. The complainant, advocate Kamlesh Manowliya, presented social media clips where Divyakirti discussed "jugaad" (informal arrangements) in relation to judicial appointments and the collegium system. The court was told that in the controversial video, Divyakirti allegedly claimed that files of potential judges could be delayed through govt red tape, even after collegium approval. He also allegedly made controversial comparisons between the powers of district judges and district magistrates, suggesting that judicial power is dependent on police cooperation. The complainant's legal team, including advocates Ashok Singh Rawat, Rajkumar Rawat and Rajesh Bhati, argued that such statements damage the judiciary's image.

Gang renting cars online, selling them in rural areas busted; One arrested
Indore: A gang involved in fraudulently renting cars through online platform and then pawning or selling them off in rural areas of Rajgarh and Biaora was busted. One person who led the gang was arrested and 10 vehicles were recovered. Pardeshipura police station in-charge RD Kanwa said, "The matter came to light when Pawan Saxena, a resident of Nanda Nagar, lodged a complaint stating that he listed his car on an online app for rental purposes. The vehicle was booked in the name of Mohammad Muinuddin from Bhishti Mohalla from June 6 to June 8, 2025. Muinuddin, along with another man, picked the car from Saxena's residence." Kanwa added that later requests to extend the rental by one day kept coming via the app, which Saxena approved until June 15. However, when the vehicle was not returned on the due date and the GPS tracker went offline, he grew suspicious. On contacting the number provided at the time of booking, a person named Mohammad Hanif, a resident of Sadar Bazaar, responded, claiming the vehicle would be returned in two days. When questioned about the deactivated GPS, he evaded the queries. Realising something was amiss, Saxena visited the address listed on the ID used for booking and met Muinuddin, who admitted that it was Hanif who used his ID to rent the vehicle. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Theilenhofen: GEERS sucht 700 Testhörer für Hörgeräte ohne Zuzahlung GEERS Undo He further revealed that Hanif pawned the car and warned Saxena not to report the matter, threatening to dismantle and sell the car in parts if a complaint was made. Upon investigating further, police found out that Hanif, along with accomplices Mohammad Muinuddin and Shailendra from Rajgarh, duped multiple car owners in similar manner. The trio took vehicles on rent, posing either as themselves or under fake identities, and then mortgaged them for amounts like Rs 2.5 lakh without the knowledge of the owners. An FIR under sections 318(4), 316(2), and 3(5) of the BNS Act 2023 was registered at Pardeshipura police station. As the investigation progressed, more victims came forward with similar complaints, leading to the discovery of a larger racket. Based on inputs provided by Hanif during interrogation, a police team travelled to various rural areas around Rajgarh and Biaora, and managed to recover 10 cars belonging to different owners. Vehicles were found either mortgaged or sold off under fraudulent claims of being the second owner. The recovered vehicles include cars registered under the names of Pawan Saxena (Indore), Saurabh Gurjar (Indore), Rakesh Vyas (Dewas), Rajesh Dubey (Jabalpur), Ashif Ali (Indore), Abhay Raghuvanshi (Indore), Hargovind Rathore (Indore) and Sunil Wadhwani (Indore). Two held in Odisha for making, sharing video supporting Pakistan
CUTTACK: CHAULIAGANJ police on Saturday arrested two persons for allegedly recording and circulating a video supporting Pakistan in a bid to incite hatred and create communal disharmony among the people. The accused have been identified as 27-year-old Sourav Sahoo of Sagar within Kanpur police limits and Goutam Lenka (28) of Mahanadi Vihar in Cuttack. Police said the duo, along with their associates had recently recorded a video in which Sourav could be seen shouting slogans of 'Pakistan Zindabad' on the banks of Mahanadi river near Gandhipalli Gada. They then circulated it on various WhatsApp groups in a deliberate attempt to incite hatred and create disturbance among Hindus and Muslims during a time when there is already an ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. 'Given that Cuttack is a communally sensitive city, circulation of such a video is likely to incite communal disharmony and affect the law and order situation in both the state and across the country. The aforementioned act clearly demonstrates the malicious intent of the accused to outrage the religious feelings of a section of citizens. Their intention was to cause disorder and incite violence,' said a senior police officer. Accordingly, basing on a written report of sub-inspector Nilanchal Jena of Chauliaganj police station, a case was registered under relevant sections of BNS Act 2023, and the accused were arrested. 'Two mobile phones have been seized from them. Further investigation is underway,' the police officer added
