Conduct Mega PTM in flawless manner: Collector to officials
Kurnool: District Collector P Ranjit Basha has directed officials to organise the upcoming Mega Parents-Teachers Meeting 2.0 on July 10 in a prestigious and flawless manner across all government and private schools, as well as junior colleges in the district. Addressing officials in a teleconference on Tuesday with sub-collectors, RDOs, constituency and mandal special officers, MPDOs, tahsildars, municipal commissioners and education officers, the Collector emphasised the importance of inviting public representatives, parents and alumni to the programme. He instructed that only the approved event backdrop be used, and that uniforms, saplings, and holistic report cards be distributed to all educational institutions by the afternoon of July 9. The Collector also ordered seamless arrangements, including midday meals, public address systems, school beautification, and tents. The Collector also reviewed complaints under the 'Talli Ki Vandanam' scheme related to Aadhaar linking errors, ration card issues, and land ownership discrepancies, and directed officials to resolve all such grievances by Tuesday evening. He insisted that no eligible beneficiary under the scheme should be missed and instructed the Joint Collector and tahsildars to coordinate efforts for comprehensive redressal of complaints. In regard to the P4 Policy, the Collector stressed the need to complete the adoption of 50,701 'Bangaru Kutumbalu' (Golden Families) within 10 days. He suggested forming village- and mandal-level committees to identify and support these families not only financially, but also by enabling employment, educational guidance, and livelihood opportunities. Industrialists, professionals and employees were encouraged to come forward and contribute to the initiative. On the PM Surya Ghar Scheme, the Collector expressed concern over low implementation - only 652 of the 8,483 registered applications have been completed. He ordered power department officials to expedite progress and directed the SE of SPDCL to issue show-cause notices to AEs in six mandals who showed zero progress. With the onset of the monsoon, the Collector instructed Panchayat Raj officials to focus on sanitation and drinking water chlorination in villages. He emphasised frequent cleaning of water tanks, preventing seasonal diseases, and ensuring daily waste collection from every household. The DPO was asked to collect daily implementation reports. Additionally, irrigation officials and tahsildars were directed to check the strength of tank bunds in preparation for water release into KC Canal and LLC. Finally, as per directions from the Election Commission of India, BLO training must be completed between July 8 and 17. The Collector instructed EROs to ensure all BLOs are trained as per the prescribed SOP. The teleconference was attended by Joint Collector Dr B Navya, Adoni Sub-Collector Maurya Bharadwaj, DRO C Venkata Narayanamma, RDOs Sandeep Kumar and Bharat Naik, District Education Officer Samuel Paul and others.

Bharath to distribute house site pattas to eligible
Kurnool: Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Food Processing, TG Bharath announced that steps are being taken to distribute house site pattas to the eligible beneficiaries in Kurnool city. On Tuesday, the Minister conducted a review meeting at the State Guest House with District Joint Collector Dr B Navya, Kurnool RDO Sandeep Kumar, Kurnool Tahsildar Venkata Ramesh, Urban Tahsildar Ravi, and Kallur Tahsildar Anjaneyulu. He directed officials to initiate the patta distribution process similar to the one carried out by Minister Nara Lokesh in Mangalagiri. Referring to the earlier promise made by Lokesh during the Yuvagalam padayatra, the Minister said pattas would be issued to the residents of the Gudem Kottala locality near the Pump House. The Minister emphasized the need to issue pattas to long-time residents of various localities in Kurnool, in accordance with government regulations. He acknowledged that several individuals who had received pattas in the past were yet to be allocated plots and directed officials to identify and allocate lands to such beneficiaries. He also instructed that survey and verification be carried out in Budhavarapeta and other affected areas to ensure all eligible residents are granted rightful ownership. The Minister noted that issues have arisen in locating land in E Thandrapadu where pattas were given before 2014, and urged swift resolution of these concerns. In a key development, Minister Bharath directed officials to take immediate steps to acquire 4.5 acres of dotted land opposite the Municipal Water Works near Venkataramana Colony from the police department, to facilitate public development works. He also ordered the demolition and leveling of dilapidated houses in the A, B, and C camp government housing colonies, and proposed repurposing the cleared land for future government development projects.

Measures to prevent dengue spread stressed
Kurnool: Joint Collector Dr B Navya has directed officials to take stringent preventive measures to control the spread of dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases. She unveiled a wall poster related to the National Dengue Month Celebrations at the Sunayana Auditorium in the Collectorate on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Navya emphasized that stagnant water in various locations creates breeding grounds for mosquitoes, leading to diseases such as dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. She instructed officials to implement measures that curb mosquito breeding and ensure that water does not stagnate in vulnerable spots. She stressed the need for sanitation, regular tank cleaning, and chlorination in every village to control mosquito proliferation effectively. The Joint Collector pointed out that household items like coconut shells, old tyres, empty cans, broken vessels, and unused air coolers can collect water and become mosquito breeding sites. She urged residents to be cautious and ensure that no water stagnates either inside or around their homes. Special focus must be given to clearing water accumulated in potholes on roads, as such spots serve as breeding grounds for mosquitoes responsible for spreading dengue and malaria. She instructed R&B department officials to address these issues without delay. Dr. Navya also advised RWS department officials to resolve pipeline leakages promptly, as fresh water accumulation from these leaks can lead to mosquito breeding DRDO C Venkata Narayanamma, Malaria Control Officer Nukaraju, medical staff, and other concerned officials attended the programme.

Preparations underway for International Yoga Day
Kurnool: The Kurnool district administration is making extensive arrangements to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21 with massive public participation across the district. District Collector P Ranjith Basha has instructed all departments and officials concerned to ensure the event is conducted on a grand scale and in a well-coordinated manner. Chairing a teleconference with RDOs, MPDOs, municipal commissioners, tahsildars, and special officers on Thursday morning, the Collector reviewed the progress of the state-wide 'Yogandhra' campaign. He announced that the district has successfully met its registration targets for the programme, and 91% of registered citizens have already been mapped to certified yoga trainers. However, he pointed out that Alur, Adoni Municipality, and C Belagal mandals have shown delays in the mapping process. He directed the respective MPDOs and the Adoni Municipal Commissioner to accelerate efforts and avoid any negligence, noting that the Chief Minister is giving high priority to this initiative. He further instructed mandal special officers to monitor and review the progress regularly. Expressing concern over delays in uploading training programme data online, he stated that show-cause notices would be issued to the Alur MPDO and Adoni Municipal Commissioner for non-compliance. On June 14, a district-wide rehearsal of mass yoga demonstrations will be conducted with all registered participants. On June 17, a special thematic yoga session involving 5,000 sanitation workers will be organized at the Outdoor Stadium in Kurnool city. The Collector instructed the Kurnool Municipal Commissioner to make all necessary arrangements for the event, including venue readiness, logistics, and participant coordination. The district administration aims to achieve record participation with over 10.65 lakh people expected to take part in the International Yoga Day celebrations across Kurnool. Among those who participated in the teleconference were Joint Collector Dr B Navya, Kurnool Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Babu, ZP CEO Nasar Reddy, and SETKUR CEO Venugopal, along with other key district officials.

Make yoga a part of daily life, urges JC
Kurnool: Joint Collector Dr B Navya emphasised the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life, stating that it promotes both physical health and mental well-being. As part of the Yogandhra campaign, a mass rally was organised on Monday from Gandhi Statue at the Collectorate to Rajavihar. The rally was flagged off by the Joint Collector, who released tricolor balloons into the air, marking the formal launch of the event. Speaking on the occasion, she said that under the Yogandhra campaign, yoga awareness programmes are being conducted at village, mandal, and revenue division levels. These include various competitions such as rangoli, essay writing, elocution, and yoga contests, along with awareness rallies across the district. Following the inaugural address, Joint Collector Navya also took part in the rally. Participants raised slogans and displayed placards promoting the benefits of yoga. Municipal Commissioner Ravindrababu, DTC Shanta Kumari, DSO Raja Raghuveer, DMHO Shanti Kala, Housing PD Chiranjeevi, DCO Ramamjaneyulu, Special Deputy Collector Venkateswarlu, SETKUR CEO Venugopal, DRDA PD Ramana Reddy, DWAMA PD Venkataramanaiah, AYUSH Doctor Prasad, Municipal Corporation Manager Chinna Ramudu, Ground Water DD Srinivasa Rao, and representatives from DRDA, MEPMA, forest officials, ARPs, civil society volunteers, government employees, and others participated in the rally.
