‘Sometimes I wonder if there's something between me and her': When Prabhas spoke about linkup rumours with Anushka Shetty

Prabhas is one of the biggest names in the film industry today. The mass hero emerged as the 'Darling' of the pan-India audience with his work in the Baahubali saga. During his career, he has often been linked to Anushka Shetty. The 'Lady Superstar' worked with him in the Baahubali saga, Mirchi (2013) and Billa (2009). In 2017, Prabhas opened up about these rumours and clarified that they are friends, not lovers. When Prabhas opened up about linkup rumours with Anushka Shetty Rumours of Prabhas and Anushka being in a relationship have been doing the rounds for many years. They refuse to fade even though both actors have maintained that they are not in a relationship. In 2017, Prabhas discussed the impact of these rumours on his personal life. The star said that the rumours have persisted so long that sometimes even he wonders if there is something between them. 'We are very good friends. We have known each other for years but I admit sometimes when such stories start doing the rounds, then I too start wondering if there is, indeed, something between us. We know that we are not romantically involved,' he told Navbharat Times Prabhas further added that it is common for actors to be linked together if they work together more than once. The actor also emphasised that he and Anushka have pledged to never let such gossip get in the way of their friendship. Prabhas and Anushka's alleged affair captured the fancy of the national media during the promotions of Baahubali 2. The period drama featured Prabhas as the titular man of the masses. Anushka played his wife Devasena, a warrior princess. What's next for Prabhas and Anushka Shetty? Coming back to the present, Prabhas is gearing up for the release of The Raja Saab. The horror comedy is set to release in December. It will be his first full-fledged role in a feature film after Kalki 2898 AD, which emerged as a blockbuster Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab is said to feature high production values and lively comedy. When Prabhas silenced negativity with grace—his humble response to KRK's Mohanlal dig won hearts during ‘Baahubali 2' promotions

Back in 2017, while the buzz around ' Baahubali 2 : The Conclusion' was at its peak, an unexpected controversy surfaced—one that dragged Telugu superstar Prabhas into a Twitter storm sparked by self-proclaimed critic KRK. What followed, however, was a moment that revealed Prabhas' grounded nature and deep respect for his fellow actors—especially Malayalam legend Mohanlal . ' Baahubali ' in Kochi: A Press Tour Amid Trolling Storm In April 2017, the cast of Baahubali 2 visited Kochi to promote the magnum opus. Fans had gathered in thousands, eager to see Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, and the team in person. But even as the crowd roared in support, the media had its eyes set on a social media controversy that was already brewing. KRK's Tweet That Sparked Outrage Bollywood actor and Twitter provocateur KRK (Kamaal R. Khan) had mocked Mohanlal, calling him a 'joker' and likening him to Chhota Bheem. This was in response to reports that Mohanlal had been cast as Bhima in a ₹1000 crore adaptation of Mahabharata. KRK went on to say that Prabhas would have been a far better choice for the role. Unsurprisingly, the tweet went viral—for all the wrong reasons. Mohanlal's massive fan base, particularly in Kerala, hit back hard, demanding an apology and slamming KRK for his disrespectful remarks. KRK Backs Down As the backlash grew, KRK issued a public apology, stating that he respected Mohanlal and had no intention to hurt his fans. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like An engineer reveals: One simple trick to get internet without a subscription Techno Mag Learn More Undo But the damage had been done, and the media in Kochi couldn't help but bring up the controversy while speaking to Prabhas. Prabhas Responds with Dignity When asked about the incident, Prabhas handled the question with remarkable poise. He said he was a huge admirer of Mohanlal and emphasized that if the makers of Mahabharata had chosen him to play Bhima, there had to be a strong creative reason. He added that he would love to work with Mohanlal someday, and if ever given a chance to be part of the film—even in a smaller role—he'd happily accept. His words reflected humility, respect, and wisdom. Without taking a single negative shot at KRK, Prabhas managed to win hearts—not just in the room, but across social media platforms. A Moment to Remember While 'Baahubali 2' broke records across the globe, this incident remained a memorable footnote from the film's promotional journey in Kerala. It reminded fans why Prabhas isn't just a screen hero—but someone who carries himself with true dignity off-screen as well. Fans Still Remember That Day… Years later, fans still recall the way Prabhas chose admiration over ego and unity over division. In an industry often marked by rivalries and reactionary statements, this moment stands tall as a lesson in grace under pressure.
