The couple were later greeted by the Monarch, 76, when they attended the high-profile event last month. Despite their eyebrow raising moves, photographs shared from the glitzy occasion showed Charles chucking with them. Speaking on their podcast, NearlyParents, Jamie, 36, explained: "When you meet the King, you slightly bow your head, or you curtsy, then you hold your hand out and call him Sir afterwards. "Do not raise your hand and shake his hand until he's raised his hand towards you. "He kept looking towards Sophie, 30, and as soon as he went towards Sophie, Sophie put her hand up, like this... and then he turned away and she put it back down again. "And she did this about three or four times, and then what happened was he looked at her again, because he's just being polite. You're meant to wait until he puts his hand up!" Sophie confessed she was embarrassed by the mishap and added: "I thought I was missing my opportunity and I didn't listen to that, because they were talking and it's just noise in my ear. "So I thought "he's looking at me, is this my moment, I'm meant to shake and curtsy?" And I was buckling." Jamie told how his wife kept her hand held out waiting for Charles as he made his way down the row of guests. Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo reveal they're stopping their hit podcast - and devastated fans think they've worked out why He continued: "And then what happened was, the last time, he turned towards Sophie, Sophie put out her hand. She didn't withdraw, she just held it there. "She just held it there and didn't move it until he came and shook her hand. Just holding it like that!" This comes after their Buckingham Palace dance divided fans' opinion. Jamie posted the video to his 1.6 million Instagram followers, writing: 'They said we couldn't film in Buckingham Palace." 8 King Charles chuckled when he greeted the former Made In Chelsea stars Credit: Instagram 8 Meghan Markle posted the video, which was recorded in 2021 before she welcomed Lilibet Credit: Instagram 8 Harry and Meghan dance to Starrkeisha's Baby Mama Credit: Instagram Sophie, wearing a pastel yellow halter-neck dress, showed off her growing baby bump as Laing pointed to it. The pair danced to Starrkeisha's Baby Mama, the same track used in Meghan and Harry's original clip. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recorded their version in 2021, shortly before Meghan gave birth to Princess Lilibet. She posted it last month to mark their daughter's fourth birthday. Despite sparking some controversy, palace aides appeared to see the funny side of Jamie and Sophie's stunt. The Royal Family's official Instagram account commented: 'We see you,' adding a pair of eye and wink emojis. The King's Trust, which hosted the reception, also responded. 'All of our attendees are very well behaved,' it joked, with a laughing emoji. But Fearne Cotton, who also attended the event, called Jamie in the comments, writing: 'You also had your pap camera out with a flash. Think of what the flash has done to those priceless paintings. Fans were quick to react - with one joking: 'When you get to do it at the Palace but Harry and Meghan couldn't lol." Another added: 'In a world at times worrying and serious, this comment was so needed.' The King's Trust, set up by King Charles in 1976, supports disadvantaged young people. It has helped more than a million into work, education or training. Jamie and Sophie were just two of several high-profile guests at the palace event, alongside George and Amal Clooney. The reception honoured this year's award winners - young people who have turned their lives around with help from the charity. Earlier this year, it was revealed Coleen had landed a £10million deal with Disney+ for a reality show - following a bidding war. An insider told the Mail: "It has taken months of bidding against one another. "The money has gone up and up and has got to £10 million, which is way higher than was first imagined, but Coleen is very much in demand.
