Keke Palmer Pulled Jonathan Majors Podcast Episode Because ‘People Felt It Was Insensitive'; Defends Interviewing Him: ‘I Don't Judge Nobody'

Keke Palmer recently appeared on 'The Breakfast Club' (via Entertainment Weekly) and explained why her podcast interview with Jonathan Majors was pulled before its online release. Majors was set to appear on an April episode of 'Baby, This Is Keke Palmer' during his press tour for 'Magazine Dreams.' The episode never dropped and Palmer put out an interview with rapper Kash Doll in its place, resulting in a lot of questions from fans. 'Obviously, Meagan is my girl,' Palmer said about Meagan Good, who married Majors this year. 'I've grown up loving her. She's honestly a mentor to me and a representation for all of us young Black women. I mean, I was happy for her to get married. I was excited to have the conversation.' 'You don't agree with everything they did, you don't love everything, but you got to have the conversation. You have to set the stage for them to speak and for people to watch and take what they want to take from it, so that's why I was open and excited to do the interview.' Majors was convicted of assault and harassment in a 2023 domestic violence case involving ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. He was sentenced to probation and an intervention program. The release of 'Magazine Dreams' in late March marked an acting comeback. Palmer said the team behind her podcast pulled the Majors episode 'based off of the reaction' of having Majors on as a guest, adding: 'People felt it was insensitive. I always want to be respectful and understand where everybody's coming from. If they're not going to feel like they're going to receive anything good from the interview, then okay, cool. But I sat down with the brother for us to talk and let him be heard. I mean, people sit down with serial killers.' 'I'm not comparing him to a serial killer,' Palmer continued. 'At the end of the day, I felt as a journalist, I'm supposed to talk and let the public decide how they want to feel. But that didn't get a chance to happen. I wish them all the best. I really want to say that because I don't judge nobody because I don't want to be judged. So at the end of the day, I'm happy for Meagan. I'm happy for them. Maybe one day, we get a chance to put [the podcast interview] out. I'm not sure.' Majors was found guilty in December 2023, derailing an acting career that reached new heights earlier that year with major villain roles in 'Creed III' and 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.' Majors was all set up to be the new Thanos-like villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kang the Conquerer. Marvel parted ways with him after the verdict. How I Travel: Keke Palmer Wants to Get Woo Woo in Bali

If you see actor Keke Palmer riding a camel in Morocco or skiing in the Alps, that might be a fine time to politely say hi and request a selfie. The absolute worst place to approach her? Where it happens the most often: in the bathroom. 'People don't even care if you wash your hands! They're already asking for a picture,' says Palmer, who also hosts the weekly podcast, Baby, This is Keke Palmer. 'Why are you doing this? It's always so weird when it happens because they'll see me go in and feel like this is the perfect time to get her. Actually it's not!' Ahead, Palmer—who's currently partnering with American Express as an ambassador for its Business Platinum Card—chatted about makeup on airplanes, staying active on vacation in Antigua, and the rather interesting wellness procedures she'd love to try in Bali. Her first flight in first class: It was for a TNT movie I was going to do: The Wool Cap, with William H. Macy. The flight was from California to Montreal, so it was pretty long. I remember flying first class and thinking, Wow, they gave me a little meal! It was a cookie. I felt so relaxed and excited. I love that you asked that, because it brought me back to that time! What she wears to fly: Well, it's changed, right? Because I've continued to go through different areas of fashion. Sometimes I'll go to the airport and give you a very fitness/wellness-type look, where I've got some type of yoga pants on and a little bomber jacket. Maybe I've got my hair pinned up in a little bun or a clip, or I've got my headband wig on—that still gives cute and casual, but comfortable. I usually try to [make sure] I don't feel like a total mess when I get off the plane. I do [wear makeup]. I went to Seattle not too long ago for a business meeting, and I had five seconds in the lounge before the plane. The flight was really quick, at 6 or 7 a.m. and I had to look good. Girl, it was crazy. Her priorities in the airport lounge: What makes a good lounge is the breakfast food. Something that can nourish me before I go to a meeting or before I go to sleep. Also, where the drinks at? Sometimes, if it's the evening, I need to wind down. Can I get a good wine? Is there a nice bar there? I also just like good chairs. Sometimes they might have an outside situation, a patio, if you want some fresh air. But more than anything, it's just knowing that you have that place to go, especially when it depends on the different airlines you're at. The American Express Business Platinum Card [gives you] access to the global lounge, so you have this universal freedom across the board. I can get noticed if I'm not in the lounge, so it is also a bit of a safe haven in that regard.
