Callina Liang Joins Legendary's ‘Street Fighter' Movie As Chun-Li
EXCLUSIVE: Callina Liang, star of Steven Soderbergh's recent supernatural thriller Presence, has landed the female lead role of Chun-Li in Legendary's live-action Street Fighter movie, based on the video games from Capcom, sources tell Deadline. Reps for Legendary declined to comment, and the film's plot remains under wraps. One of the most iconic characters in the franchise, Chun-Li is a skilled martial artist and Interpol officer who first appeared in Street Fighter II in 1991. Liang joins a cast that includes the previously announced Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Jason Momoa, Roman Reigns, and Orville Peck. Bad Trip's Kitao Sakurai is the flick's director. EXCLUSIVE: David Dastmalchian (The Life of Chuck) has landed the role of big bad M. Bison in Legendary's live-action Street Fighter movie, based on the video games from Capcom, sources tell Deadline. Reps for Legendary declined to comment. It's the biggest role to date for the actor, who's now been working consistently for nearly 20 years, and marks another big leap forward, following his strong marks earned for starring in the buzzy horror film Late Night with the Devil. Butterfly trailer: Daniel Dae Kim's show blends global espionage with slick action
Prime Video shared the official trailer for 'Butterfly', an action-packed, character-driven spy thriller headlined by Daniel Dae Kim. Based on the graphic novel series by Arash Amel and produced by Kim's 3AD, the series is set to premiere globally on August 13, 2025, with all six episodes releasing at in South Korea, in the shadowy world of global espionage, 'Butterfly' follows David Jung (Kim), a former US intelligence operative now living in SK. Haunted by a decision from his past, Jung's carefully built life begins to unravel when he becomes the target of Rebecca (Reina Hardesty), a ruthless young assassin working for the nefarious spy agency trailer teases slick action sequences, psychological tension, and layered storytelling. At its core, 'Butterfly' promises to explore themes of identity, family, and betrayal. The star-studded cast includes Kim Ji-hoon, Park Hae-soo (Squid Game), Kim Tae-hee, Charles Parnell, Sean Dulake, and Nayoon Kim, with special appearances by veterans Sung Dong-il and Lee Il-hwa.
