UAE To Face Qatar, Oman In World Cup Qualifiers
The United Arab Emirates were drawn to take on Qatar and Oman in the fourth phase of Asia's preliminaries for the 2026 World Cup on Thursday. According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the winners of each of the three-team groups, which will be played in October, will join already-qualified Australia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Uzbekistan, Iran and Jordan at next year's expanded 48-nation finals in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Saudi Arabia will host Group A and open against Indonesia on October 8. Indonesia will then play Graham Arnold's Iraq on October 11 before the Saudis and Iraq face off on 14th October. Group B hosts Qatar, organisers of the 2022 World Cup, will take on Oman in their first game on October 8. The UAE will face Oman on October 11, with Qatar and the UAE meeting on October 14. The nations finishing in second place in each group will advance to a further round of qualifying, which will be held over two legs in November on a home-and-away basis. Source Bahrain News Agency

Renowned for her iconic contributions to Spacetoon's musical legacy, Rasha Rizk will perform live on July 21 and 22. Her return follows the success of her appearance in the festival's inaugural edition, where her nostalgic repertoire captivated audiences.

Bahrain U16 Basketball Team Claims Gulf U-16 Championship Title For Sixth Time
The Bahrain Under-16 basketball team secured the Gulf U-16 Championship title for the sixth time in its history, following a convincing 83-50 victory over the United Arab Emirates in the final held on Friday at the Basketball Federation Hall in Umm Al Hassam. The match saw Bahrain dominate from the outset, with quarter scores of 24-9 in the first, 13-19 to the UAE in the second, and 21-17 and 25-5 in the third and fourth quarters respectively, all in Bahrain's favour. Standout performances included Mohammed Adel, who scored 14 points, followed by Ali Ferdousi with 12 points, and Hussein Fouad with 11 points. Bahrain praises UAE for rescue efforts after Red Sea ship attack
The Kingdom of Bahrain on Wednesday commended the United Arab Emirates for rescuing the crew of the commercial vessel Magic Seas after it came under attack in the Red Sea. In a statement carried by the Bahrain News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs lauded the UAE's prompt and responsible humanitarian response. It also highlighted the UAE's coordination with international maritime authorities, including the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO). Bahrain condemned the attack and described it as a threat to international navigation, global trade, and the marine environment. Youth Centres Urge Action
As Bahrain marked Arab Youth Day yesterday, youth leaders and centre representatives echoed a growing call for deeper participation in national strategy, highlighting youth as essential to the Kingdom's development model. Fatima Al-Otaibi, Secretary of the Academic Excellence Authority, affirmed the organisation's commitment to linking high-performing students and nurturing a culture of innovation. Inspired by the vision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, she said the Authority supports excellence through incentive programmes, collaboration networks, and capacity-building initiatives. Future 'Youth are the fuel of our future,' she said. Arab Youth Day, observed annually on July 5, is recognised as a regional moment to reflect on young people's contributions to public life, entrepreneurship, and policy shaping. In line with national direction, the occasion drew praise for the continued support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, particularly their encouragement of youth in leadership and governance roles. According to statements released by the Bahrain News Agency, additional voices from local youth centres emphasised Bahrain's model for youth empowerment. Dr. Rita Makki Al-Badr, said to chair the Women's and Medical Committee at the Shakhura Youth Empowerment Center, described her role as extending beyond medicine to include social awareness and empowerment. Others, such as Fatima Al-Khalifa of Wahaj, Hassan Nasser Hassan of Salmabad, Rashid Bakhit Al Dosari of Zallaq, and Mohammed Sadiq Al-Adraj of AIESEC Bahrain, called for stronger youth engagement in policy, digital innovation, and regional development, BNA said.
