TDT | Manama More than 150 digital works by young Bahrainis lit up the big screen at EPIX Cinemas this week, capping the final stage of 'The Challenge' competition under the Bahrainouna national values campaign. The screening brought together students, creatives, and civil society representatives to celebrate youth-driven content expressing themes of national belonging, loyalty, and pride. The showcased submissions were selected from a wide range of entries submitted across the Kingdom's governorates in recent months. Youth creativity General Supervisor of the Bahrainouna Executive Office, Major General Mohammed bin Daina, praised the initiative's success in connecting national values with digital storytelling. 'The showcase vividly embodied the voices, values, and aspirations of young creators,' he said, crediting the project's impact to its outreach across youth clubs, schools, and civil society. He also extended special thanks to EPIX Cinemas and Zain Bahrain for their collaboration in providing a platform to amplify youth voices through media. The competition had its roots in interactive regional tours earlier this year, where workshops and events introduced the campaign's mission and encouraged youth to express national themes using digital tools. Public voting and expert panels were used to evaluate submissions, ensuring broad community participation. Community effort 'The Challenge' formed part of a broader campaign that included the Bahrainouna exhibition held in Seef Mall in May. That event featured themed zones covering heritage, innovation, volunteerism, and entrepreneurship. These elements reinforced the message of national engagement through diverse mediums. This collaboration exemplifies Zain Bahrain's steadfast dedication to empowering Bahraini youth and contributing to the Kingdom's economic and social development. The partnership with the "Bahrainouna" exhibition highlights Zain Bahrain's long-term commitment to nurturing local talent and implementing dynamic initiatives that foster youth and community growth. Zain Bahrain maintains a 93% Bahrainization rate, with 97% of new hires being Bahraini over the past two years. Furthermore, nationals hold 90% of executive roles and 86% of leadership positions within the company. Since 2009, Zain Bahrain has supported over 3,000 young individuals through training, employment, and skill-building initiatives, making significant contributions to the development of national talent and the strengthening of the local labor market. In recognition of these efforts, Zain Bahrain was awarded the "Best Private Sector Employer" at the 12th GCC Government Human Resources and Youth Summit 2024, further establishing its leadership in youth empowerment and national workforce development.

Education Minister Inaugurates Bahrainouna Exhibition at Seef Mall
Manama: Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and member of the Ministerial Committee for the Follow-up on the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Nationalism (Bahrainouna), inaugurated the Bahrainouna exhibition at Seef Mall, which runs from May 4-10. According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Juma expressed his appreciation to General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the ministerial committee, for his support of the programmes and initiatives under the Bahrainouna plan. He emphasized the Ministry of Education's commitment to involving students in activities and programmes derived from the plan. The exhibition features interactive programmes across six main zones: the Artistic Creativity Zone, offering painting and sculpture workshops; the Heritage and Identity Zone, showcasing elements of Bahraini heritage through educational games and interactive displays; the Technology and Innovation Zone, which allows visitors to explore practical experiences in artificial intelligence and virtual reality; the Sports and Fitness Zone, featuring sports activities and competitions to promote a healthy lifestyle; the Volunteering and Community Participation Zone, highlighting the value of volunteer work and providing real engagement opportunities; and the Youth and Innovation Zone, presenting entrepreneurial projects reflecting the ambitions of the new generation. The exhibition is open to visitors daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with guided tours available in Arabic and English.

Over 200 skilled Bahraini professionals join national experts' platform
More than 200 professionals have applied to join Bahrain's National Platform for Bahrain Experts (Khobaraa), a scheme aimed at connecting skilled Bahrainis with opportunities in key sectors. The committee overseeing the initiative met for the second time at the Ministry of Labour, chaired by Dr Essam Ismail Al Alawi, Director of Training and Manpower Development and head of the committee, to review applications and discuss plans to expand the database to a wider range of industries. Bahrainouna Bringing together officials from the Ministry of Labour, the Information and eGovernment Authority, and the Bahrainouna Executive Office, the meeting was part of efforts tied to the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Nationalism (Bahrainouna). The discussion focused on the process for assessing applicants to the platform, which is designed to connect Bahrain's skilled professionals with opportunities where their knowledge can be put to good use. Applications So far, 212 applications have been received, covering a mix of industries. Of these, 71 are from banking, insurance and finance, while 21 come from the health sector. Manufacturing industries account for six, information and communications have attracted 54, engineering has drawn 50, and the real estate field has seen 10 submissions. Work on reviewing applications will begin soon, with applicants to be notified of the outcome once assessments are finalised. Platform The committee repeated its call for eligible Bahrainis to put their names forward and register for the platform. It also stressed the need to bring in expertise from a broader range of fields, ensuring a well-rounded national record of skilled professionals. The database is intended not just as a reference but as a means to recognise and connect people who have built careers in key sectors. Bahrain unveils digital organ donor platform
A streamlined organ donation registration system has been launched in Bahrain, enabling citizens and residents to pledge their organs electronically through the national portal, The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Royal Medical Services (RMS) and the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), unveiled the upgraded system to simplify donor registration, ensure a reliable database, and enhance medical response times for patients in need. Leadership Support Her Excellency Dr Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, emphasised the initiative's role in strengthening community giving and humanitarian values. She noted that Bahrain remains committed to sustainable healthcare under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. H.E. Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, CEO of iGA, highlighted the initiative as a key part of the government's digital transformation strategy, particularly in healthcare. He also linked it to Bahrain's national plan (Bahrainouna), led by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, to promote social cohesion and civic participation. Registration Process To register, individuals must log in via the eKey system, provide their details, and specify their donation preferences, which include organs such as the heart, liver, kidneys, and corneas. The minimum age requirement is 21 years, and full legal capacity is necessary. The decision to donate remains personal, with no provision for family members to act on behalf of the donor. Users can also check their application status - pending, approved, rejected, cancelled, or awaiting consent approval - based on their health condition. The Ministry of Health, RMS, and iGA urged the public to participate in the programme, reinforcing life-saving efforts and strengthening Bahrain's healthcare framework.
