The passenger, who was on Malaysia Airlines flight MH752 from Kuala Lumpur to Hanoi on June 22, was issued an administrative fine of 4 million dong ( S$200 ). According to the Northern Airports Authority on June 23, as the flight attendant stood at the aircraft door to bid farewell to passengers shortly after landing, she asked a passenger what he had in a black box that he was carrying. The man responded by saying it was a 'bomb'. The flight crew immediately reported the incident to the relevant airport authorities. Upon disembarkation, the passenger was detained by the immigration police at Noi Bai International Airport for questioning. An inspection of the rectangular black box revealed that it contained a computer keyboard and a mouse. No suspicious items or prohibited materials were found. The passenger, identified as N.C.H, admitted that his inappropriate joke stemmed from a lack of awareness. All relevant parties provided written reports and completed a record of the incident. The passenger, along with his luggage and belongings, was handed over to the Northern Airports Authority. Unfortunately, another Malaysia Airlines passenger has made headlines for thinking it was a good idea to joke about carrying explosives during a recent flight to Hanoi. Here's what happened: The Vietnamese man boarded Malaysia Airlines flight MH752 from Kuala Lumpur to Hanoi. Shortly after landing, while a flight attendant was bidding farewell to passengers disembarking the aircraft, she asked the man about the long black carry-on bag he was carrying. In response, he joked that it was a bomb, prompting an immediate emergency response. The flight attendant alerted security at Noi Bai International Airport, and the passenger was swiftly detained by immigration officers for questioning by multiple agencies, including Malaysia Airlines representatives, emergency command centre officers, and Vietnam Airport Ground Services staff. Naturally, the bag was thoroughly inspected, revealing nothing more than a computer keyboard and a mouse. The passenger admitted that the bomb remark was intended as a joke, claiming he was unaware of the seriousness of making such comments. Earlier this week, Noi Bai International Airport issued a statement confirming that the passenger had been issued an administrative fine of VNĐ4 million (approximately RM650). 'Had the joke been made by a departing passenger, the entire process would have been far more complicated,' the Emergency Command Unit told reporters. Thankfully, the bomb threat turned out to be an ill-judged joke. However, let this serve as a reminder that making jokes about weapons or explosives in airports or on aircraft is strictly prohibited.
