UFC Baku live blog: Jamahal Hill vs. Khalil Rountree Jr.
This is the live blog for Jamahal Hill vs. Khalil Rountree Jr., the light heavyweight main event for Saturday's UFC Baku fight card at Baku Crystal Hall in the promotion's first visit to Azerbaijan. Hill looks to bounce back from consecutive knockout losses to Alex Pereira and—most recently at UFC 311 in January—Jiri Prochazka. The former light heavyweight champion seeks his first win in over two years, that being a title-winning decision victory against Glover Teixeira at UFC 283 in January 2023. 'Sweet Dreams' makes his 11th walk to the octagon. Advertisement Rountree competes for the first time in 2025. In his most recent outing, the 35-year-old was stopped by Pereira in his first championship bout at UFC 307 this past October in the fourth round. Prior to that, Rountree won five straight, including stoppage wins against Anthony Smith, Chris Daukaus, Karl Roberson, and Modestas Bukauskas. Check out the Hill vs. Rountree live blog below. UFC on ABC 8 results: Khalil Rountree outpoints Jamahal Hill for scorecard sweep
Khalil Rountree is 1-for-1 since fighting Alex Pereira. In the UFC on ABC 8 main event Saturday, Rountree (14-6 MMA, 10-6 UFC) picked apart former light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill for 25 minutes to earn a unanimous decision (49-46, 50-45, 50-45) victory. The bout headlined the promotion's debut event at Baku Crystal Hall in Baku Azerbaijan. Over the course of five rounds, Rountree appeared to be a step ahead of Hill. He used his signature technical kickboxing approach to outpoint and seemingly frustrate Hill. Rountree knocked Hill down multiple times, including twice in Round 3. But Hill was never close to being finished. The frustration was evident post-fight, as Hill confronted Rountree in the cage, seemingly questioning the lack of aggression and action from his opponent. Rountree responded that Hill was difficult to read. Hill seemed shocked on the reading of the official decision, as he lost every round in the judes' eyes, except for one round from one judge. With the victory, Rountree moves to 6-1 in his most recent seven. He bounces back from his title shot loss to Pereira in October. Despite being a heavy underdog, Rountree took the fight to Peireira and found success before he ultimately was finished in Round 4. Hill, 34, moves to 0-3 since he vacated the title in July 2023 due an Achilles tendon injury suffered in a celebrity basketball game. Full UFC Baku results include:

Bogdan Grad vs. Muhammad Naimov prediction, pick, start time for UFC on ABC 8
Bogdan Grad and Muhammad Naimov meet Saturday in the main card opener of UFC on ABC 8 at Baku Crystal Hall in Baku, Azerbaijan. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom. Last event: 5-1 UFC main cards, 2025: 57-44-1 Bogdan Grad vs. Muhammad Naimov UFC Baku preview Grad (15-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) enters on a four-fight winning streak with three stoppages. After back-to-back finishes on the regional scene, he picked up a win on Dana White's Contender Series, and then finished Lucas Alexander in his February debut. ... Naimov (12-3 MMA, 4-1 UFC) looks to keep the momentum going after a unanimous decision over Kaan Ofli in February, which was a successful rebound from his first setback in the UFC. Bogdan Grad vs. Muhammad Naimov UFC Baku expert pick, prediction Kicking off the main card in Joe Silva-like fashion is a featherweight attraction between Muhammad Naimov and Bogdan Grad. Naimov's resume is a deceiving one when you factor in everything from his opportunistic style to his favorable fortunes with fouls and injuries alike. And though I suspect that Naimov's not far from being audited again, I don't think it comes here. Grad, who looks like a muscled-up version of Edward Furlong in "American History X," can make fights ugly and work his way back into them if he's allowed to stick around. However, Grad also has some porous striking defense to go along with some plodding footwork and linear advances that I see running him right into a Naimov counter hook. The pick is Naimov by knockout in Round 2. Bogdan Grad vs. Muhammad Naimov UFC Baku odds The oddsmakers and the public favor the Tajik fighter, listing Naimov -260 and Grad +205 via FanDuel. Bogdan Grad vs. Muhammad Naimov UFC Baku start time, how to watch As the main card opener, Grad and Naimov are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 3:10 p.m. ET. The fight broadcasts on ABC, ESPN and ESPN+.
