It's hard to maintain sobriety while touring, says Miley Cyrus
Bang Showbiz | Los Angeles Miley Cyrus thinks it's 'really hard to maintain sobriety' while touring. The 32-year-old pop star hasn't paired an album with live shows since her Bangerz Tour back in 2014, and Miley has now revealed that she has no intention of hitting the road anytime soon. During an appearance on Good Morning America, Miley - who quit using marijuana in 2017 - explained: 'It's really hard to maintain sobriety when you're on the road, which is kind of a pillar of stability in my life. None of this that I create would even be possible without the way I think about things.' Miley also thinks there's an insufficient 'infrastructure' for touring artists. The pop star said: 'I do have the physical ability. I have the opportunities to tour, I wish I had the desire, but I don't. I also don't think that there's an infrastructure that supports artists.' Miley acknowledged that touring has negatively impacted her mental health in the past. The Wrecking Ball hitmaker said: 'I do think it's really hard to keep mental wellness.' In 2023, Miley admitted that touring 'isn't healthy' for her. The singer has enjoyed huge success in her music career - but Miley believes that touring 'erases [her] humanity' and stifles her ability to write new songs. The Flowers hitmaker explained in a TikTok video: 'Having every day the relationship between you and other humans being subject and observer isn't healthy for me because it erases my humanity and my connection. And without my humanity and my connection, I can't be a songwriter, which is my priority.' Miley also reflected on the differences between herself and her dad, music star Billy Ray Cyrus. The chart-topping singer admitted that she had financial and emotional stability during her younger years, whereas her dad was forced to struggle through the early years of his life. Miley explained: 'My dad grew up the opposite of me.

Image: Bang Showbiz Bill Cosby has paid tribute to his "The Cosby Show" co-star Malcolm-Jamal Warner. The actor tragically passed away on Sunday at the age of 54 after drowning while on holiday in Costa Rica and has been remembered by Cosby as a "great student" after playing his on-screen son Theodore Huxtable in the TV sitcom that aired from 1984 until 1992. The 88-year-old star told "ABC News": "He was always a great student, and I enjoyed working with him very much. He was very professional. He always knew his part ... He always knew his lines, and he always knew where to go." Cosby, who has faced sexual misconduct allegations from a number of women in recent years and had a sexual assault conviction quashed in 2021, explained that he and Malcolm remained close when "The Cosby Show" ended. He said, "Malcolm calls here regularly." Warner's cause of death has been confirmed as "asphyxia by submersion" by local authorities in Costa Rica. Tributes to Warner have poured in from across the showbiz world, with his "9-1-1" co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt stating that the tragedy "hurts my heart". She wrote on social media: "This hurts my heart. A gentleman, an incredible talent, and we were so lucky to have him in the '9-1-1' family. Heartbroken and sending love to his family." Comedian Sherri Shepherd described Warner, who is survived by a wife and daughter whose identities he has kept private, as "one of the most grounded people I've met in our business" after working with him on the TV series "Sherri". She said: "As someone who grew up on TV, Malcolm remained one of the most grounded people I've ever met in our business. To know Malcolm was to know a Renaissance man that possessed humour, grace, humility and deep cultural appreciation. He was just a good guy! "His passing is a true loss to the Hollywood community. He was a proud girl dad and loved his daughter so much. To his family, friends and all who loved him - my heart is with you."

John Oliver Reacts To The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Cancellation: ‘Terrible News'
Published By : Bang Showbiz Last Updated: After the programme was canned by CBS, John Oliver has said he is "incredibly sad" to hear The Late Show With Stephen Colbert has been shelved. John Oliver has called the cancellation of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert 'terrible news for the world of comedy". Last Thursday (17.07.25), CBS pulled the plug on the 61-year-old presenter's nightly talk programme, with the final episode set to air in May, and now Oliver – who fronts Last Week Tonight With John Oliver – said it is 'incredibly sad" Colbert's show has been canned. Speaking with journalists in Erie, Pennsylvania, Oliver, 48, said: 'I love Stephen, I love his staff. I love that show. It's incredibly sad. 'I am partly excited to see what they're going to do for the next 10 months. It's terrible, terrible news for the world of comedy. 'Late-night shows mean a lot to me, not just because I work in them, but because even growing up in England, I would watch Letterman's show, which of course was Stephen's show, and think about what a glamorous world that was." Oliver added it had 'always been one of the most fun things" to appear on The Late Show – which had previously been helmed by David Letterman from 1982 to 2015 – and said he was looking forward to seeing what would be next for Colbert. Oliver continued: 'So to have got to be on Letterman's show and Stephen's show has been always one of the most fun things, so it's very, very, very sad news. 'I look forward to seeing what he's going to do next because that man will not stop." Oliver isn't the only late-night host to react to The Late Show's cancellation, as Jimmy Fallon – who fronts The Tonight Show – admitted he was 'just as shocked as everyone" to hear Colbert's programme had been axed. He wrote in an Instagram story: 'Stephen is one of the sharpest, funniest hosts to ever do it. I really thought I'd ride this out with him for years to come. 'I'm sad that my family and friends will need a new show to watch every night at 11:30. But honestly, he's really been a gentleman and a true friend over the years, going back to The Colbert Report, and I'm sure whatever he does next will be just as brilliant."
