Barcelona star to miss 3-4 weeks with injury

An insight into the extent of the incoming absence facing Barcelona youngster Ibrahim Diarra has on Saturday been forthcoming online. The name of attacker Diarra has of course emerged as a prominent one in Catalunya's capital across the day to date. Unfortunately for the Malian, however, as much comes for less than positive reasons. Diarra was drafted into Barcelona's first-team setup for pre-season training this week, since going on to make a positive impression on the club's coaching staff. In turn, it came as a blow when word was forthcoming that the 18-year-old has suffered an injury setback. As per a statement across Barca's website and social media platforms earlier today: 'Barça Atlètic player Ibrahim Diarra has sustained a muscle injury to the rectus femoris in his right leg. He will not travel with the first team on the tour to Japan and South Korea, and his return to the first team activities will depend on the progress of his recovery.' So, just how long is Diarra expected to be out of action? As per a report from : 'The club does not specify the time of absence although this type of injury does not usually fall below 3-4 weeks.' Barcelona announce pre-season injury blow

La Liga champions Barcelona have on Saturday announced a blow on the personnel front. This comes amid confirmation that youngster Ibrahim Diarra is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines. Attacker Diarra is one of a number of youth talents to have been called up to first-team duties in Barcelona across the week to date. Amid early preparations for the new campaign, Hansi Flick has afforded an opportunity to impress to several of the Blaugrana's most highly-regarded breakthrough performers. The aforementioned Diarra, an 18-year-old attacker who generally operates out wide, is one such player to have been called to The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. As alluded to above, however, in an untimely blow for the Malian, his chance to prove himself at senior level has been cut short. As per a statement across Barcelona's website and social media platforms on Saturday: 'Barça Atlètic player Ibrahim Diarra has sustained a muscle injury to the rectus femoris in his right leg. He will not travel with the first team on the tour to Japan and South Korea, and his return to the first team activities will depend on the progress of his recovery.' Conor Laird – GSFN

FC Barcelona Coach Flick Has 10 New Players For Preseason

FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick will have 10 new players from the reserve outfit known as Barca ... More Atletic to take a look at in preseason. FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick will have 10 new players from the reserve outfit known as Barca Atletic to take a look at in preseason. The defending treble champions of Spain returned to work on July 13, which was coincidentally Lamine Yamal's 18th birthday. At the turn of the week, the real work starts ahead of Barca's preseason tour of Asia which will be followed by the Joan Gamper Trophy match on August 10 and the 2025/2026 La Liga campaign kicking off on August 16 with an away trip to Mallorca. As we've seen in past seasons, a number of players in Barca's reserve outfit and in particular those that have progressed to it from La Masia, will have their chance to impress Flick and prove that they are not only worthy of a ticket on the plane to Asia but also perhaps staying in the senior team. We saw this last summer with Marcs Casado and Bernal, who even started 2024/2025 in a double pivot for Flick thanks to an injury Frenkie de Jong had been nursing since April. Bernal's own ACL knock meant that he was sidelined for the term while De Jong also won his place back from Casado. Still, the Marcs are expected to be important moving forward and are perhaps the midfield future of the club. Back to the group of 10, the players in question are namely Landry Farre, Toni Fernandez, Guillermo Fernandez, Jan Virgili, Juan Hernandez, Ibrahim Diarra, Jofre Torrents, Pedro Fernandez, Dani Rodriguez and Roony Bardghji. Of the group, Bardghji's is one of the most interesting cases. Barca is considered to have pulled off a major coup by beating a number of top European clubs to his signature, and paying just a few million dollars to land him from Copenhagen. Ahead of the weekend, the Swede of Moroccan descent landed in the Catalan capital and swiftly passed a medical. His transfer hasn't been officially announced yet, but we shouldn't have to wait too long for the club to act on that. Bardghji could keep Lamine on his toes at FC Barcelona If he can impress Flick, Bardghji could stay in the FC Barcelona first team squad and keep Lamine on his toes. Positional rivalry on the right wing will be helpful for the Ballon d'Or hopeful, and the Swede can also help reduce the teenager's workload.

FC Barcelona Announces New Transfer For Next Season

FC Barcelona announced a transfer for next season via its official website this weekend. FC Barcelona used its official website to announce a transfer for the upcoming 2025/2026 season. 'FC Barcelona and CF Estrela da Amadora have reached an agreement for the loan of player Alan Godoy until June 30, 2026,' a statement on the matter read. The club recalled how Godoy arrived at Barca in the winter transfer window last season and signed a contract until June 30, 2027 when his move from Eldense was finalised. Godoy started his tenure in Catalonia 'with important participations' for the reserve team known as Barca Atletic and made a scoring debut for it amid starting the first six games in row he was available for. A muscle injury then kept him out of action for seven games, but Godoy managed to return and score two goals in the last few games of the season. Overall he netted three in nine appearances, and will now head to Portugal to Estrela da Amadora and try to gain formative experience with a club that has recently been promoted to the top flight amid the likes of Benfica, Porto and Sporting Lisbon. Kicking on in Portugal will be to Godoy's benefit whether it is attracting interest from a bigger club or impressing Barca across the border on the Iberian Peninsula. Unfortunately, though he has plenty of time on the clock with a contract until 2027, he was unable to make the leap from Barca Atletic to Hansi Flick's senior team in the short time he was around the Joan Gamper CT. A forward who can play as a left winger, there was on overbooking so to speak for the latter position on Flick's watch in 2024/2025. With Lamine Yamal taking the opposite channel for himself, Raphinha was pushed on to the left flank and enjoyed his best season in La Liga and the Champions League with a litany of goals and assists. Other options included Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati, though the soon-to-be ex number 10 has now, like Godoy, been loaned out to AS Monaco. FC Barcelona will continue its pursuit for a new left winger After first choice Nico Williams turned his back on FC Barcelona and renewed with Athletic Club, the pursuit for a left winger continues. At the moment, it seems to be a two-horse race between Liverpool's Luis Diaz and Manchester United's Marcus Rashford, providing that Barca can raise the funds to pursue either man.

FC Barcelona Officially Announces New Transfer On July 1

FC Barcelona used its official website to announce the outgoing transfer of Barca Atletic star Noah ... More Darvich on Tuesday morning in Catalonia. FC Barcelona used its official website to announce the outgoing transfer of Barca Atletic attacking midfielder Noah Darvich on Tuesday morning in Catalonia. 'FC Barcelona and VfB Stuttgart have reached an agreement for the transfer of Noah Darvich. The club retains a percentage of any future sale of the German midfielder and a right of first refusal. The Club wishes him much luck and success in the future, both personally and professionally,' a statement on the matter read. The club recalled how Darvich joined Barca Atletic from Freiburg in the summer of 2023, which was considered a coup at the time when the youngster was being talked up as one of German football's brightest prospects. Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich were just some of the European giants interested in signing Darvich, who Barca managed to land for a reported $3.5 million (€3 million). 'In his first season as a Barcelona player, he made 21 appearances in the Primera Federation. In addition, in December, he won the U-17 World Cup with the German national team. The following season, 2024/25, he began preseason training in the United States with the first team. But throughout the year, despite being called up several times by Hansi Flick, he only made 27 appearances for Barca Atletic,' the club concluded. It is right in that despite making so many appearances for the reserve team, and being called up to train with the seniors, Darvich failed to take the step forward between the two outfits like recent breakthrough stars such as Marc Casado have. Midfield is crowded to say the least in Flick's squad, and in the more attacking berths in the center of the field, Darvich would face competition from the likes of Pedri, Gavi, and Dani Olmo without mentioning Fermin Lopez. 'I am delighted to sign for Stuttgart, it is a very special club. I have regularly followed the Bundesliga and the trajectory of this team; I want to adapt quickly and continue to grow to be successful at this club,' Darvich said, amid being announced by his new club. FC Barcelona can get Darvich back Should he finally begin to fulfill his potential, FC Barcelona can get Darvich back from Stuttgart thanks to the mentioned clause in his contract. As of yet, it's not clear how much it would cost to activate said clause.
