Press reports revealed that Barcelona is close to signing Roger Martínez.

Press reports revealed that Barcelona is close to signing Roger Martínez. Recent press reports have revealed that Barcelona is looking to sign an additional midfielder for the team in preparation for next season's competitions under German coach Hansi Flick. According to reports from the Spanish newspaper Marca, the player Barcelona wants to sign to join its star-studded midfield is 21-year-old Roger Martínez. Midfield with attacking capabilities Martínez is known for being an attacking midfielder with outstanding technical ability. He can also play as an advanced midfielder or playmaker, and his keen vision enables him to perform at his best in this position. The player's contract with Espanyol expired last month, so joining a new team won't be difficult, but rather possible and easy, especially since he's looking for a new experience. The player doesn't mind trying his new experience on the other side of the city, which is certainly Espanyol's fiercest rival, but he will face stiff competition in the line where Barcelona has the most players, which is the midfield. Barcelona will face fierce competition for the player's services, especially as Atletico Madrid is closely monitoring the young player's situation, especially after the departure of veteran Argentine Rodrigo De Paul to Inter Miami.

Inside Marcus Rashford's five-star welcome to Barcelona: Man United exile given VIP treatment at £156-per-head restaurant visited by Barack Obama and Steven Spielberg

Marcus Rashford celebrated his loan move to Barcelona by dining out with the club's president Joan Laporta and other members of the board at one of the city's most exclusive restaurants on Wednesday night. The 27-year-old forward, who has been pursuing an escape from Manchester United since his six-month loan spell at Aston Villa came to an end earlier this summer, finally got his wish by teaming up with LaLiga giants Barcelona on Monday. The loan agreement also allows Barcelona to sign Rashford on a permanent deal next summer for a fee in the region of £30million. Given a five-star welcome by the Catalan giants, Rashford was wined and dined at exclusive £156-per-head Amar restaurant in Barcelona, with 18 people attending the dinner. Rock icon Bruce Springsteen, former USA president Barack Obama and esteemed film director Steven Spielberg are among the famous faces to have dined at the luxury brasserie. Dishes of tuna belly, prawns, crab cannelloni and 'mongetes' from Santa Pau were served to the table, with Rashford and Co offered an opportunity to sample a variety of delicacies. The group, according to Spanish outlet El Periodico, completed the feast with wagyu meat and Galician blonde, before having the restaurant's famous cheesecake for dessert. After the meal, Rashford and Laporta posed for a photograph with the chefs, waiting staff and sommeliers, both beaming at their excitement over the new chapter. Speaking at his unveiling as a Barcelona player, Rashford expressed his delight at signing for the Spanish giants and said it will be a 'joy' to play for the club. 'I am very excited, I think it's a club where people's dreams come true,' Rashford said. 'What the club stands for means a lot to me as well and it feels like I'm at home, and this is a big factor in my choice. It's a family club people are comfortable here and it's a good place for people to show their skills. 'I try to make decisive actions and fast dynamic plays and I always like good football so I've always been a fan of watching Barcelona from a young age. 'It's going to be a joy for me to play here and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it.' 'I am definitely full of excitement and hunger to go out and try an help the team win. It's all smiles for Rashford at the Nou Camp - both at his unveiling and during training sessions It marks a drastic change from his last few months at Manchester United, where he has been placed in Ruben Amorim's five-man bomb squad following a loan spell at Aston Villa 'They won so much last year and I can see the ambition is to do better than last year. 'As a player that's what you want to hear, it keeps you improving year on year and that's what you need to be the best version of yourself.' Rashford added that he had 'very positive' talks with Barcelona boss Hansi Flick, who he described as one of the games' 'top coaches'. The Manchester United exile, who had been placed alongside fellow outcasts Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho in Ruben Amorim's five-man summer bomb squad, looked like a man reborn after touching down in Spain to complete his move. Rashford, set to wear No 14 at the Nou Camp, was pictured grinning in training alongside Spanish superstar Lamine Yamal - and several fans even claimed he had enjoyed a 'glow-up' after being pictured at his unveiling. Rashford is understood to have taken 15 per cent pay cut from his £315,000-a-week Man United wage to join Barcelona. During his successful loan stint at Aston Villa, he scored three goals and contributed four assists across all competitions as Unai Emery 's side reached the Champions League quarter-finals.

What Rashford's amazing life in Barcelona could look like, from luxury community where Messi lived to sun-soaked beaches

MARCUS RASHFORD could live like a Spanish king in Barcelona if he completes his dream move from Manchester United. The 27-year-old is on the verge of becoming the first England player in 36 YEARS to wear the iconic Blaugrana strips, after Gary Lineker' s famous stint in the 80s. 12 12 SunSport exclusively revealed that Rashford arrived in sunny Spain on Sunday night ahead of his season-long loan move- after a nightmare private plane journey was derailed by none other than band Oasis. Rashford is closing in on his dream move to Barcelona, who will have an option to BUY the Red Devils academy graduate come the end of next season for a reported €30million (£26m). With limitless cash, a pending move could see him move to same glitzy neighbourhood as some of the world's greatest ever footballers in Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho. He could also be offered a company car in the shape of a fancy SEAT CUPRA, whose HQ is Catalonia's cosmopolitan capital. And Passeig de Gràcia, a luxury shopping district that's home to boutiques for Prada and Louis Vuitton, would keep the fashion conscious star looking sharp. SunSport looks at what Rashford's life in Barcelona could look like... Where he'd live Bellamar, the exclusive private hideaway tucked away in the Castelldefels hills, is the area where most of Barcelona's elite live. It's where club legend Messi made his home for many years - first living in a £12.5million mansion with wife Antonella and their kids. Such was the need for Messi to have his own peace and quiet, former team-mate Ivan Rakitic revealed how the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner bought his neighbours house in 2017. Due to environmental restrictions, there is also a no-fly zone in place over the homes located in Castelldefels suburbs. The fashionable side of town is situated along the Spanish coastline, approximately 12 miles from Camp Nou and five miles from the club's Joan Gamper training base. 12 12 And Barcelona's new No10 Lamine Yamal lives a short drive away in Sant Joan Despí, after recently moving out of the youth digs La Masia. Ronaldinho called Bellamar his home when he played for the Blaugrana. Former Liverpool stars Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho also purchased properties there when they played before Barcelona. Manchester-born Rashford has always resided in rainy England, temporarily setting up shop in Birmingham after joining Aston Villa on a six-month loan in February. But he's set for a drastic change in lifestyle and scenery, with access to stunning sun-soaked beaches on the Balearic Sea. In fact, buying a property nearby would see Rashford able to walk a few minutes to enjoy downtime at a quiet beach at Platja de Castelldefels. 12 Michelin-star food Of course, Spain is the country where amazing cuisine is enjoyed. And Barcelona has it in abundance, with Spanish tapas, fresh seafood paella and healthy Gazpacho. Barca stars are often spotted dining at Michelin-starred restaurants during their time off. One of those is where the team's Christmas party is often held at Via Veneto. Messi was frequently spotted at Estimar and three-star venue Disfrutar - which was later crowned the No1 restaurant in the WORLD in 2024. Rashford could even take words of advice from former team-mate Scott McTominay, who has been lapping up Italian treats in Naples during his title-winning season with Napoli. Company car In Manchester, Rashford drives a top of the range Range Rover Velar worth over £85,000. He has also been seen with a Rolls-Royce Cullinan and a Rolls-Royce Wraith, which he replaced after a crash in 2024. Should he move to Barcelona he would certainly get the option of driving a company car worth at least £55,000. The Catalans have signed a new deal with SEAT CUPRA, with most of the team getting the keys to their customised motors last month. Rashford is known for his love of cars. The Three Lions winger also has a £280,000 McLaren 765 Long Tail and a £350,000 Lamborghini Urus Performante. Fashion is covered Like most footballers, Rashford has made no secret of his love of designer wear. Not only has he been spotted eyeing up the latest trends at Paris Fashion Week, he's also a model in his own right. He has featured in fashion campaigns, including a Burberry campaign and a Vogue cover. And on a recent holiday in Saint-Tropez, the forward was pictured wearing a matching two-piece Louis Vuitton set costing £2,690, with a luxury watch on either arm. On his left wrist Rashford appeared to be wearing a Patek Philippe Aquanaut, a timepiece that is listed at an eye-watering £295,895 on a website that specialises in luxury watches. 12 The Rolex watch on his right arm was estimated to have cost around £40,000. For his love of fashion, expect Rashford to shun the busy, pedestrian Plaza Catalunya. Instead, he would most likely be seen visiting the upscale boutiques on offer at Passeig de Gràcia. The likes of Prada, Gucci and Louis Vuitton all have stores there. With Rashford on some serious wedge, he will certainly be a cherished customer.

Barcelona receive worrying stadium update as new issue emerges that will DELAY return to £1.25bn Nou Camp

BARCELONA'S highly-anticipated return to the Nou Camp has been delayed AGAIN. Barca left their famous stadium in 2023 and have since been playing at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium. 4 4 4 4 The legendary ground, which will be renamed the Spotify Camp Nou, is undergoing reconstruction worth a staggering £1.25billion that will see it hold a capacity of around 105,000 - the highest in Europe. The Blaugrana were initially hoping to return in time for the club's 125th anniversary in November 2024, with president Joan Laporta then claiming they would be back in the stadium by March. But the Catalan giants ended up finishing the season at the Olympic Stadium. Barcelona hoped they would finally return to their new and improved ground on August 10 in time for the annual pre-season Joan Gamper Trophy match, this year against Como. According to Marca, however, that scenario is growing increasingly unlikely, although a decision will be finalised in the next few days. A new issue has emerged and that is down to licensing problems, which are now preventing the Spanish champions from returning home. Barcelona are still waiting to receive an occupancy permit from the city council, which is required to host the exhibition match against Cesc Fabregas ' team. The council has previously stated it can't grant a licence until the stadium works are fully completed. The completion of a new third tier, a roof installation, interior spaces and development of the stadium's surrounding areas remains to be dealt with. Barcelona are now targeting September 14 as the newest return date. That is when Hansi Flick 's men host Valencia in LaLiga in their first home match of the upcoming season. But even when it reopens, the Nou Camp will be at a lower capacity between 50,000 to 60,000 until renovations are complete by the start of the 2026/27 campaign.
