Israeli defence minister directs IDF to develop plan to stymie Iranian recovery
Defense Minister Israel Katz on Friday directed the IDF to formulate an enforcement plan against Iran, including steps to preserve Israel's aerial superiority, prevent the advancement of Tehran's nuclear and missile programs, and respond to the Islamic Republic's support for terrorism. 'We will act regularly to thwart threats of this nature,' said Katz. 'I suggest the defanged head of the snake in Tehran understand and beware: 'Operation Rising Lion' was only the preview of a new Israeli policy,' he continued. 'After Oct. 7, immunity is over.' Katz said the 12-day war would go down as a remarkable chapter in Israel's history and in the annals of global conflict. He highlighted that Israel had opened the skies over Tehran, targeting and neutralizing Iranian air defense systems, destroying nuclear infrastructure and missile production facilities, and severely damaging missile launchers. Additionally, Israel killed key Iranian security figures and leading scientists, effectively dismantling the decades-long plan by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to annihilate the Jewish state. IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir on Friday indicated that the damage inflicted on Iran would help further Israel's war objectives against Hamas. 'The IDF completed 'Operation Rising Lion' to eliminate an existential threat to the State of Israel. We achieved all of our objectives and delivered a significant blow to Iran's nuclear program,' Zamir said during a situational assessment held in the Gaza Strip. 'The damage sustained will have an impact on the entire axis, including Hamas, whose primary sponsor has now been weakened. There is a possibility that the strike on Iran will advance our objectives in Gaza,' he added. The comments came after a rare public statement by Mossad Director David Barnea, who announced on Wednesday that the spy agency would continue to conduct covert operations inside Iran for the foreseeable future. 'We will be there, as we have been,' Barnea said. 'We've worked for months and years to carry out the necessary actions and reach the right moment.' In a video message, Barnea underscored that Israel's intelligence presence within the Islamic Republic remains extensive, calling it a strategic imperative for national security and regional stability. Windows Warning Issued As Printers Used In New Hack Attacks
Hackers are using printers to attack Windows devices. Nobody should be surprised by now at the ingenuity of threat actors looking to hack your accounts and devices. I have recently reported on how SMS attackers can strike without knowing your phone number using the SMS Blaster machine, a smartwatch can be used to hack even highly secure air-gapped networks, and even Windows secure boot protections can be bypassed. What might come as a surprise, however, is the news that a new and ongoing hack attack campaign is enlisting the help of your printer to hack your Windows systems. Here's what you need to know. Windows Users Warned As Microsoft 365 Direct Send Hackers Deploy Printers To Attack A new report by the Varonis Managed Data Detection and Response Forensics team has confirmed an ongoing threat campaign, already known to have targeted at least 70 organizations, the vast majority of which are based in the U.S., using on-premises devices such as printers to exploit a poorly known Microsoft 365 feature to deploy the Windows hacking attack. That feature is Direct Send, allowing devices such as printers and scanners to send email without any authentication. I mean, what could possibly go wrong? Quite a lot, as it happens. 'Threat actors are abusing the feature to spoof internal users and deliver phishing emails without ever needing to compromise an account,' Tom Barnea, a forensics specialist at Varonis, said. The as yet unnamed hackers used this Microsoft 365 Direct Send function in order to target predominantly U.S. organizations with malicious messages that are 'subject to less scrutiny compared to standard inbound email,' according to Barnea. The Varonis investigation has concluded that the ongoing threat campaign appears to have started in May 2025, with a level of 'consistent activity over the past two months.' Mitigating The Windows Printer Attack To mitigate the Microsoft 365 Direct Send attacks, Varonis recommends organizations do the following: Microsoft, meanwhile, said that most Microsoft 365 and Windows customers don't need to use the Direct Send feature, and it is working on an option to disable it by default to protect customers. 'We recommend Direct Send only for advanced customers willing to take on the responsibilities of email server admins,' Microsoft concluded.

Mossad chief issues video excerpt highlighting spy agency's role in Iran assassinations, sabotage cases
Jerusalem, June 25 (UNI) David Barnea, Chief of Israel's premier intelligence agency Mossad, issued a rare video excerpt of an address to his Mossad agents involved in several operations against Iran since June 13 and afterward, that led to various high-profile assassinations and sabotage cases. Seemingly taunting Tehran, he said that Israel will continue to operate inside Iran, telling his Mossad agents, "we will (continue to) be there, like we have been there", reports Jerusalem Post. Barnea said that the spy agencies' achievements against Iran were "unimaginable", with public details indicating they were involved in assassinating top Iranian military chiefs, nuclear scientists, blowing up nuclear facilities, drone facilities, and ballistic missiles facilities. He also openly acknowledged Mossad's many operations in Iran, revealing that hundreds of agents were stationed deep inside Iran during the height of Mossad operations, which threw the regime of the Islamic Republic into disarray, forcing it to play on the backfoot. He said that the Mossad had worked for months and years "to do all of the right actions to get to the right understood the fatefulness of the hour." Barnea also thanked IDF intelligence, the IDF Chief Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir and the CIA for their invaluable cooperation during the operation. He then turned to discuss the Gaza front, stressing that Mossad is committed to the returning all 50 of the hostages, 20 of whom remain alive. Highlighting its role in the conflict, Mossad revealed a rare video footage which showed its active collaboration with the Israeli Air Force in Tel Aviv's pre-emptive strike on Iran's ballistic missiles and air defences. Three videos show the Mossad targeting ballistic missile targets, air defence targets, and general preparations for the attacks (with the agents' faces covered up), reportedly using drones to target Iranian facilities.

Israeli spy chief commends Mossad agents for Iran mission, vows to remain vigilant
Mossad chief David Barnea also thanked the US Central Intelligence Agency for its support in Israel's military operation against Iran. PHOTO: REUTERS TEL AVIV - Mossad spy chief David Barnea praised his agents for their role in Israel's operation against Iran, expressed gratitude to America's Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and pledged ongoing vigilance in remarks broadcast on June 25. 'We will remain vigilant, keeping a close eye on all the projects in Iran, which we know of, in the deepest way. We will be there as we have been until now,' Mr Barnea said, in a video of his remarks to agents. Israel sent Mossad operatives into Iran to destroy weapons systems, an Israeli security source told Reuters on June 13 at the start of a 12-day air war on Iranian nuclear and military targets that ended on June 24 in a US-brokered ceasefire. 'I want to express appreciation and recognition of our main partner – the CIA – for the joint activities,' Mr Barnea said. He said the CIA had supported the Mossad and made the operation possible. The Israeli security source in the June 13 Reuters report said Israel's military and Mossad had worked for years on the intelligence needed for the airstrikes, which killed both commanders and nuclear scientists in Iran. Israel's military chief of staff, Lieutenant-General Eyal Zamir said in a video broadcast on the night of June 25: 'The Iranian nuclear programme has suffered a harsh, broad and deep blow and has been set back years.'
