Social media reacts as LSU baseball's Kade Anderson falls to No. 3 pick in MLB Draft
LSU ace Kade Anderson was picked by the Seattle Mariners with the No. 3 overall pick in the MLB Draft on Sunday night. Entering the day, there was talk of Anderson going No. 1 overall, but the first two picks came as a surprise with Eli Willits going to the Nationals and Tyler Bremner joining the Angels.
Seattle was happy to see Anderson available at No. 3 and the Mariners took the LSU lefty.
With LSU in 2025, Anderson was named a first-team All-American and Baseball America's National Pitcher of the Year. Anderson was instrumental in LSU winning the College World Series, pitching a complete game shutout in Game 1 of the final vs. Coastal Carolina. Anderson earned the College World Series MVP title.
Anderson was a reliever as a true freshman in 2024, but stepped into a starting role in 2025 and was quick to adjust, finishing the year with 119 innings and a 3.18 ERA.
Here's how LSU fans, MLB analysts, and others reacted on social media after Anderson's pick.
