Powerleague launching four new padel courts in Paisley
Powerleague is officially launching the new courts at its Paisley facility on Blackhall Street on July 5. The Paisley site, which first opened in 1987, is recognised as Powerleague's birthplace. Already hosting two seven-a-side and four five-a-side football pitches, the site currently welcomes more than 2,200 football players each week. Christian Rose, chief executive of Powerleague, said: "Our Paisley club is already a vibrant hub for team sports and a key part of the local community. "This investment marks an exciting new chapter as we introduce a dedicated home for padel in the city. "Padel is the fastest-growing sport in the world – it's dynamic, inclusive, and a great way to stay active. "With this expansion, we aim to broaden its appeal by offering best-in-class facilities that are accessible to everyone, regardless of background or ability." The Paisley court additions form part of a wider plan to make padel more accessible in towns and cities across the UK. Powerleague has already opened Padel facilities in Manchester and Birmingham, with further Scottish sites planned for Portobello and Sighthill. Those interested in attending the Paisley Padel courts can book sessions of 60 or 90 minutes through the Playtomic app, with prices starting from £7 per person. To mark the launch of its Paisley facilities, Powerleague will host an opening party on July 17 from 5pm to 9pm. The event will include free intro sessions, a social tournament, a 'Beat the Pro' challenge, food, drinks, and a live DJ.
