US country hip-hop stars to headline new Perth festival

Jelly Roll and Shaboozey are set to perform in Australia for the first time at Strummingbird — an inaugural country music festival. Festival organisers dropped the star-studded lineup on Thursday after announcing the new event last week, which will hit the Sunshine Coast on October 25 and Newcastle on November 1 before stopping in Perth at Claremont Showgrounds on November 2. Headliner Jelly Roll will head Down Under for Strummingbird, from the team behind Spilt Milk, marking his first-ever visit here. Global sensation Shaboozey will also make his Aussie debut, alongside the likes of Treaty Oak Revival, James Johnston, Kaylee Bell, Matt Hansen and Hot Dub Time Machine with a rock and country-centric set. It's exciting news for fans after four-time Grammy-nominated Jelly Roll's latest album, Beautifully Broken, debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200 charts last year. Beyond music, the Nashville-born star has built a stalwart community of fans across the globe through the release of his record-breaking ABC News documentary Save Me. Meanwhile, Shaboozey is sure to get the crowd hyped up with his viral track A Bar Song (Tipsy), which held the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 for 19 weeks. Unfortunately, Texan country rock outfit Treaty Oak Revival will deliver a blend of Southern rock and punk to the East Coast only, but Aussie James Johnston will bring his modern country style to all cities. Rachael Fahim is another standout addition to the lineup, consistently ranking as one of the most-streamed Aussie female country artists over the past three years, second only to Kasey Chambers. The homegrown party favourite is set to take festivalgoers on a musical journey through time with a country and rock and roll twist. Not only are world-class music acts on offer, but punters can also saddle up for a mechanical bull ride or get rowdy in the Howdy Howdy Saloon for line dancing with Maddison Glover.

Jelly Roll Pushes Multiple Big Singles To New Chart Peaks

Jelly Roll scores new peaks with 'Heart of Stone' and 'Unpretty,' as 'Bloodline' with Alex Warren ... More debuts strong across three Billboard charts. WASHINGTON, DC - DECEMBER 11: Jelly Roll performs onstage during iHeartRadio Hot 99.5's Jingle Ball 2023 at Capital One Arena on December 11, 2023 in Washington, DC. (Photo byfor iHeartRadio) Jelly Roll has been on something of a winning streak on the Billboard charts, one that has lasted several years now. The multi-genre star scores more than half a dozen hits across the American rankings this week, thanks to a mix of tunes from his most recent full-length Beautifully Broken as well as a handful of collaborations, as he has become a go-to for other artists looking to lend some credibility and star power to their latest releases. Three of Jelly's tunes rise to new peaks on the charts this week, and they largely take different routes to their exciting positions. 'Heart of Stone" is Jelly's only track to establish a new peak on more than one ranking in the United States this frame. His solo cut appears on three Billboard charts, and it just misses a breakthrough on one of them – and only barely. "Heart of Stone" lifts three spaces to No. 28 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs tally and one rung to No. 24 on the Country Airplay list, heights the cut has never seen before. Jelly sees two tracks surge to new highs on the Country Airplay tally, which is often considered one of the most competitive radio rankings in the nation. "Hard Fought Hallelujah," his duet with Christian superstar Brandon Lake, climbs one space to No. 44, which now stands as its top showing. After debuting at No. 8 last week on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart, "Unpretty" improves its standing and now appears at No. 6. The track — also taken from Beautifully Broken — became a hit after Jelly performed it during the recent season finale of American Idol. In addition to those three tracks which are soaring, Jelly also scores a brand new hit, which automatically establishes a high point as it arrives, and which could climb in the coming weeks. "Bloodline," a collaboration with Alex Warren, debuts on a trio of U.S.-based lists, thanks in part to the ongoing success of the newcomer's 'Ordinary.' It launches highest on the Digital Song Sales chart, coming in at No. 5. The track kicks off its time at No. 32 on that all-encompassing Hot 100 ranking, and No. 18 on the Streaming Songs roster.

Jelly Roll Lands A New Bestseller With Some Help From ‘American Idol'

Jelly Roll's 'Unpretty' debuts in the top 10 after American Idol duet with winner Jamal Roberts ... More while fellow single "Liar" also soars. CLEVELAND, OHIO - AUGUST 3: Jelly Roll performs during WWE SummerSlam 2024 at Cleveland Browns Stadium on August 3, 2024 in Cleveland, Ohio. (Photo) Jelly Roll's latest album Beautifully Broken has already spent months on the Billboard charts, and fans are still heavily consuming the country and rock project. The full-length earns a bit of a boost this week after the multi-genre singer-songwriter appeared on American Idol and dueted with Jamal Roberts, who went on to win the twenty-third iteration of the reality staple. The two musicians delivered collaborative renditions of two of Jelly Roll's tracks from his latest release, and thanks to that high-profile performance, one of the featured tunes has become yet another top 10 hit for the Grammy-nominated superstar. 'Unpretty' launches on a pair of Billboard rankings this frame. The track, taken from Beautifully Broken but which has not yet been pushed as a proper single, debuts at No. 8 on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart. That new placement gives Jelly Roll his fourteenth career top 10 showing on that list. The same cut has been classified by Billboard as both rock and country, qualifying it for not only the Rock Digital Song Sales chart, but also the Country Digital Song Sales tally. That second list is a bit more competitive this time around, so Jelly settles for launching the track at No. 12, collecting his twenty-third career appearance in the process. In both instances, 'Unpretty' earns the third-highest debut on the two charts. On the rock side, Jelly lands behind 'God Is a Weapon' by Falling in Reverse and Marilyn Manson (No. 4) and 'Let You Fade' by Linkin Park (No. 6). Over on the country list, American Idol season 23 runner-up John Foster debuts in second place with 'Tell That Angel I Love Her,' while 'What I Want' by Morgan Wallen and Tate McRae kicks off its run at No. 10. Jelly Roll and Roberts paired 'Unpretty' with 'Liar,' which was released last summer as a single from Beautifully Broken. That track rejoins the Country Digital Song Sales tally at No. 3 and rises to the runner-up spot on the rock-only list. Sales of 'Unpretty' grew by more than 1,800% from one week to the next, according to Luminate, and that gain is tied directly to American Idol. Purchases of 'Liar,' while greater, increased by just under 200% during the same timeframe.
