Jonathan Bailey Reveals Anthony's Fate Beyond Bridgerton Season 4

Getty Images After being renewed for seasons five and six, it's clear that Bridgerton is going to be around for a while — and according to Jonathan Bailey, he'll be sticking around for its entirety. Though Bridgerton season 4 is going to focus on Benedict's love story, there will still be plenty of Anthony sprinkled in, as Bailey himself has now confirmed. While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter on June 18, Bailey explained that he's very okay with playing a supporting character in the series. In season 2, he played a main role as the season focused on his character's love story with Kate Sharma (played by Simone Ashley). 'I've never been someone who's like, 'Thanks, bye.' It's not in my nature,' Bailey told the outlet. 'There's a real sense of brotherly pride I feel in it.' Per THR, while Bailey did acknowledge that there may be future instances in which he might not be able to star as prominently in the series as he'd like to due to scheduling conflicts or smaller storylines for his character, he did stress that he'll make it work for as long as he can. 'I look forward to, in another however many years, when we've done the eighth season to sit around and be like, 'Look what we all did together,'" Bailey said. 'I know how much I love long-running series. I know how important familiarity of character and story and consistency is in these long-running series.' The actor just wrapped production on Bridgerton season 4, and teased that they filmed 'a wedding on a Monday morning.' ("People know that people get married in Bridgerton — that's not a spoiler, right?' he joked.) Bailey is booked and busy, as he's currently on the press tour for Jurassic World Rebirth and in just a few months will be gearing up for the release of Wicked: For Good. Jonathan Bailey had previously discussed the fate and future of his character in Bridgerton season 4 during an appearance on Good Morning America back in August 2024. "The thing about Bridgerton, which is so brilliant, is that there are so many different ways that you can fall in love as humans, and that's what the show will explore and, obviously, being the older brother, I'm gonna be there to support the youngsters as we go,' Bailey said about the upcoming season. At the time, Bailey admitted that he didn't yet know where exactly season 4 would take his character, but that he's very 'excited' to step into the oldest Bridgerton's shoes once again. ICYMI, season 3 of Bridgerton ended with Bailey's Anthony Bridgerton and his wife Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) getting ready to head off to India before the birth of their baby. To coincide with the season 3 finale, showrunner Jess Brownell previously told Teen Vogue that both Anthony and Kate, affectionately known as Kanthony, would be returning for season 4. 'The strength of sending them off to India for a little while is that it does leave the door open for them to come back, schedules allowing,' Brownell said. 'I think, understandably, when any of our lead actors have given over their lives for their season, in future seasons, we want to be supportive of the fact that they do have other projects coming in, and to ask actors to come back just to be in the background is not really fair to them. We love Jonny and Simone, and we'll have them back as much as we are able to.' During summer 2024, Netflix confirmed season 4 of Bridgerton would focus on Benedict's story, hence adapting Julia Quinn's third book, An Offer From a Gentleman — that book was skipped for season 3 to center on Penelope and Colin's story, which adapts Quinn's fourth book, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, instead. On August 16, 2024, Variety reported that Yerin Ha had been cast as Benedict's love interest, Sophie Beckett. Previously, the streamer had teased the logline for the season, writing: "Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother's masquerade ball.' Big win for ocean conservation with ‘Elegant Throne'

Jean-ius idea: (From left) Francis George, Benedict and Nur Nadia Natasya proudly displaying their award-winning upcycled chair. KOTA KINABALU: The combined creativity of three final-year Sabah cosmetology students clinched the top spot in the handicraft category of the 2025 International Ocean Conservation Creative Competition. A cleverly upcycled 'stool chair' made from discarded plastic bottles, newspapers, bags, wood scraps, wire and rags clothes, the winning work was designed not just for style – it could help beauticians perform outdoor pedicures. Named the 'Elegant Throne', the multifunctional seat even includes a compartment to store pedicure tools. Led by Bevanny Adelia Benedict, with teammates Annyss Anastacia Francis George and Nur Nadia Natasya Ahmad Zainul Ariffin, the 19-year-olds from the Keningau Vocational College (KVC) won over the judges with their sustainable approach, combining creativity, aesthetics and practicality to address the global issue of plastic waste. 'We wanted to show that even trash can be made useful. This project has given me confidence to create something innovative and practical,' said Benedict, describing her experience as invaluable as she prepares for her final year. The trio drew inspiration from a prototype created by their seniors, which they improved by making it lighter. KVC director Lumang Lang commended the team for embodying the spirit of vocational learning. 'Our students are taught to think critically and act creatively using their technical skills. 'This project demonstrates the power of vocational education in addressing real-world problems through innovation,' he said. The 'Elegant Throne' aligns with the competition's theme of ocean conservation, promoting awareness around the dangers of plastic waste to marine life and ecosystems. The students concluded their over three-minute video presentation with a poignant message that resonated with the judges: 'A simple seat with a simple promise: to waste less and care more.' Organised online by the International Youth and Children's Education Association, the competition drew entries from young innovators worldwide, with the results announced last week on its website.

Blessed with a trinity of eggy Benedictions

Eggs Benedict on crisp pancetta and toasted ciabatta at Col'tempo. Image: Frank Chemaly Eggs Benedict has come a long way from its origin as a hangover cure. The legend has it one Benedict, feeling decidedly under the weather, ordered it at one of New York's swanky hotels at the height of America's gilded age. His request was for eggs on ham and toast smothered in Hollandaise sauce. The hotel obviously thought the toast was a bit beneath them and made such a glorious mess more chic with an English muffin. And while there are certainly better hangover cures, a whole range of delicious breakfasts have been created and are still enjoyed some 130-odd years later. The base may change but the concept of luxuriously draping eggs in a sauce of more eggs and butter remains. Bacon is a common replacement for ham, and my favourite. I've had versions atop smoked salmon, seared tuna, fresh oysters, wilted spinach and a mushroom ragu. All hit the spot. One I do at home sits on top a bed of herby balsamic roast tomatoes with a hint of chilli. I was lucky to enjoy three different Benedicts at my favorite coffee shops recently. Col'tempo This little Italian deli and eatery in Morningside could be plucked straight off the Amalfi Coast and transplanted in Durban. We sit outside in the quiet courtyard under the vines and feel like we're in a different world. The coffee is a testament to the Italian barista's art, the aperitif of choice is an Aperol spritz. The pappardelle with beef ragu is legendary, as are their baked artichokes. Inside they make their own charcuterie and offer Italian delicacies from nougat to imported Gorgonzola. Their bottled artichokes are the best value in Durban. The Benedict here has an Italian twist. On toasted ciabatta - which I prefer, as often the English muffin can become very doughy, especially if it isn't toasted properly - are slices of crisp pancetta, two perfectly cooked, soft poached eggs, enrobed in a good rich Hollandaise. Simple, elegant and delicious. And if like me you want something sweet after your eggs, try their olive oil cake, or orange cake or light fruit cake, or linger longer over another Aperol spritz. After all, Col'tempo means with time. Food: 4 Service: 3 ½ Ambience: 4 Value: 4 Eggs Benedict on smashed avo at Boston Brew. Image: Frank Chemaly Boston Brew This charming old Berea verandah home has become a thriving community coffee shop. Cyclists and runners in the mornings, mums after the school run, and mums and kids in the afternoons. You're likely to meet someone you know. Everything spills out into the garden. Sadly the new McDonalds drive through across the road removes some of the park-like feel. But the coffee is excellent. My double espresso arrives coated in an enviable layer of rich crema. The baking is also notable. A variety of cheese cakes, crunchies, banana bread and croissants. The menu is mostly vegetarian and pork free, so here I try their Boston Benedict, with the poached eggs sitting on a pile of smashed avo. It made for a lovely creamy version of the classic. There is also a mushroom version - which I can vouch is good. And I am sure they would do one with smoked salmon. My only criticism of eggs Onasis is that too often the salmon isn't brought to room temperature first and the eggs get cold very quickly. This time I finished with a second cuppa and a lovely little pasteis de nata. Food: 3 ½ Service: 3 ½ Ambience: 3 ½ Value: 3 ½ Eggs Benedict on wilted spinach and brioche toast from Humble Coffee. Image: Frank Chemaly Humble Coffee Humble Coffee in Windermere finally has premises to match their excellent offering after taking over an interior design shop in Lilian Ngoyi Road and they've turned it into a buzzy vibrant space. Here keyboard warriors bash away at laptops under the warm winter's sun. There's a bar counter and plenty of chit chat at indoor tables, and a 'boardroom' out back. You place your order at the counter which is groaning with appealing baked goods. Raspberry white chocolate and tahini blondies, and lemon and coconut cake. The food offerings here are mostly vegetarian and include a superb cheese, red onion and mango pickle toastie. Service is bright, breezy and quick. As I'm sipping a lovely rich and mellow cappuccino, I decide on their brioche Benedict. Two perfectly cooked poached eggs on wilted spinach and brioche toast, the brioche a nice slightly sweet foil to the savoury spinach. I enjoyed it immensely. And for something sweet, a good slice of orange and almond cake. Food: 3 ½ Service: 4 Ambience: 4 Value: 3 ½
