Official: Pippo Inzaghi leaves Pisa despite promotion to Serie A
Pippo Inzaghi has officially parted company with Pisa after just one year where he took the club to promotion into Serie A. The former Milan, Venezia, Bologna, Benevento, Brescia and Salernitana boss took the job last summer and steered them to second place in Serie B. Advertisement That meant automatic promotion along with Sassuolo, while Cremonese got the third spot via the play-offs. According to multiple reports, he will remain in Serie B and be appointed the new coach of Palermo, as the Sicilian side paid the €1m clause to release him from his Pisa contract. Inzaghi turns 52 in August and had already earned promotion from Serie B with Benevento in 2020. As for Pisa, they are back in Serie A after an absence of 34 years and the candidates to take over next season include Alberto Gilardino. Curiously, newly-promoted Cremonese are also currently without a coach.

Inzaghi leaves Pisa job after promotion to Serie A
June 13 (Reuters) - Filippo Inzaghi has left his role as Pisa manager by mutual consent, the Serie A club said on Friday, with the coach moving on just weeks after leading the Tuscan side to promotion from Italy's second tier. Inzaghi, older brother of Simone who recently left Inter Milan to manage Saudi club Al-Hilal, took Pisa back to the top flight after an absence of 34 years in his first season at the club. The 51-year-old former Italy striker began his managerial career at AC Milan where he ended his playing days, taking charge at the San Siro for one season before earning promotion from the third tier with Venezia. Inzaghi, who also brought Benevento up to Serie A, is now widely expected to become manager of Serie B club Palermo, according to Italian media reports.

Ruby Walsh: Shoemark left counting the cost of tarnished Field Of Gold ride
When Field Of Gold broke from the stalls in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket earlier this month, Kieran Shoemark had a decision to make: pass Benevento and slide forward into the slipstream of Seagulls Eleven, parking Ruling Court behind and outside him, or take back and allow Shane Foley on Green Impact to track Seagulls Eleven, putting himself behind Green Impact, allowing William Buick on Ruling Court to pass him and sit on Green Impact's quarter. He chose the latter, and the history the race created will never hold fond memories for Kieran Shoemark. It took 13 seconds to unfold, but once Ruling Court headed Field Of Gold, the destiny of the result was in William Buick's hands, and Shoemark was left hoping Buick would move forward early enough to give him time to catch up.
