Besiktas Considering Approach For Inter Milan's Iran International Striker
Inter Milan striker Mehdi Taremi has emerged as a transfer target for Turkish club Besiktas, with the Iran international considering his future at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. As reported in today's newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, and via Taremi is one of a number of Inter players attracting interest from Turkiye, and the former Porto man has been monitored by Besiktas as they seek to improve their firepower. The Istanbul club have been monitoring Taremi closely and are ready to submit a bid for the 33-year-old, with Inter demanding €10 million for him. Taremi endured a difficult debut season in Italy, netting just three times in 43 appearances in all competitions and finding minutes difficult to come by. Meanwhile, teammate Hakan Calhanoglu could also be set for a switch to Istanbul, with Fenerbahce pursuing the Turkish international midfielder. Across the city, Galatasaray have shown interest in Nerazzurri goalkeeper Yann Sommer, but the league champions are expected to secure a deal for Manchester City's Ederson instead.

Besiktas, West Ham and Fulham are among the clubs interested in Mehdi Taremi, who is expected to leave Inter this summer. Inter are prepared to sell Iran international Taremi this summer and sign a creative striker, with Ademola Lookman being their top target in that position. The clubs chasing Taremi Taremi joined Inter on a free transfer in 2024, and the Nerazzurri are ready to listen to offers for him in the current transfer campaign. The Serie A giants will sell the experienced centre-forward to the best bidder. Eric Bailly's club future looks further in doubt with latest setback
Former Manchester United fan favourite Eric Bailly's club future has suffered a setback weeks before the start of the new season. Topsy-turvy United spell Bailly was Jose Mourinho's first signing in the summer of 2016 and he impressed in his first season, winning the Carabao cup and Europa League. Nonetheless, injury and erratic form would soon complicate the Ivory Coast international's promising career at United. He finally left the club in 2023 after going out on loan to Olympique de Marseille the previous season. Eventful story after United Bailly moved to Besiktas but only played eight matches amid a series of controversies. Such incidents included getting into a fight with a teammate and he was removed from the playing squad. He left the club in the winter of 2024 after having his deal terminated and joined his former side Villarreal CF. Never a dull moment, Bailly headbutted FC Barcelona's Robert Lewandowski on his debut and found game time hard to come by, playing just 25 times for the Spanish side in a season and a half. Consequently, he was officially released at the end of the season and has been searching for a new club ever since. Talks break down Bailly was in talks to join Saudi Arabian side Al Najmah SC and seemed close to a deal but he will not be moving to them in the end. Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that 'Eric Bailly's transfer to Saudi side Al Najmah SC has collapsed after verbal agreement done.' 'Bailly decided to leave the negotiations.' Uncertain future With only a matter of weeks before the beginning of the new season, Bailly will need to go in search of a new club. St Patrick's Athletic boss in FAI Cup draw quip as tough tie awaits the Saints
Stephen Kenny reckons someone was double-jobbing this week - with his St Patrick's Athletic side landing two tough draws within 24 hours of each other. First up was Monday's Europa Conference League third round draw. The reward for progress over Estonian side Nomme Kalju will be a tie against one of two European group stage regulars. Turkish giants Besiktas are managed by former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, while Ukrainians Shakhtar Donetsk won the UEFA Cup in 2009. Then on Tuesday, in the draw for the third round of the FAI Cup, Pat's were handed a home tie against League of Ireland champions Shelbourne. The St Pat's boss quipped: 'I think the same person was doing the two draws! Two tough draws, Shelbourne is a tough game, Pat's v Shels is a great game. As for the prospect of facing either Besiktas or Shakhtar, it wasn't the draw Kenny was after. He said: 'I always want a draw that gives us the best chance of progressing. People want a big one, but I'm always wanting the draw that gives us the best chance of got to the play-off round last season.
