"Historic convergence" of crypto and golf at Trump Aberdeen

In addition to title partner of the Scottish Championship, Nexo also becomes an official partner to five further events on the circuit this year including next week's Genesis Scottish Open in East Lothian. Among the others are the Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo, the BMW PGA Championship, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, and the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. Read more: Officials say the agreement marks the first-ever multi-year partnership between a digital assets company and a major global golf tour, making it "a historic convergence of crypto and golf". The deal caps a fruitful few months for Nexo, which said in April that it was re-entering the US market after a two-year hiatus caused by regulatory challenges. Co-founder Antoni Trenchev attributed the move to a more favourable environment under the Trump administration. "Thanks to the vision and leadership of President Donald J. Trump, his administration, and his family, the United States is once again a place where innovation is championed, not stifled - a place where pioneers are celebrated," Mr Trenchev said at a press conference in Bulgaria. Speaking about today's announcement, DP World Tour executive commercial director Max Hamilton said Nexo's "forward-thinking approach to innovation and performance aligns seamlessly with ours". Read more: "Just as the DP World Tour connects global golf fans using the latest technologies, Nexo is reshaping wealth-building with digital tools. Our audience is global, affluent, and financially savvy – making this partnership a powerful platform for strategic engagement.' Mr Trenchev added: 'This partnership reflects our belief that wealth and golf are built the same way: with preparation, control, and vision. "Both the DP World Tour and Nexo share a commitment to precision, discipline, and performance – whether on the course or in finance. Golf is a natural fit for our brand: elevated, global, and principled.'

In the latest European Ryder Cup team rankings, Tommy Fleetwood has moved up to No. 2

The 2025 Ryder Cup is Sept. 26-28 at Bethpage Black. Tommy Fleetwood may have suffered a crushing defeat Sunday at the Travelers Championship but maybe he can exact some revenge on Keegan Bradley in September at Bethpage at the 2025 Ryder Cup. The Ryder Cup rankings for both the U.S. and European teams were updated Sunday and Fleetwood has moved all the way up to No. 2. The top six after the Betfred British Masters on Aug. 24 will be automatic qualifiers for the Euro squad. The rest of the top 12 for 2025 European Ryder Cup team With Fleetwood moving into the top six, Rasmus Hojgaard got bumped out but he's right there at No. 7. Rory McIlroy becomes first player to automatically qualify for 2025 European Ryder Cup team

Rory McIlroy becomes first player to automatically qualify for 2025 European Ryder Cup team One of the stalwarts of the European Ryder Cup team is officially locked in for the 2025 competition at Bethpage Black. Rory McIlroy, the No. 2 golfer in the world and Masters champion, became the first golfer to automatically earn a spot for captain Luke Donald's Team Europe, it was announced Monday. He will make his eighth consecutive Ryder Cup appearance at the biennial competition, scheduled Sept. 26-28 in New York. McIlroy locked up his spot with two months of the qualification period left thanks to four wins since the European points list began last August. "It's always a huge honor to represent Europe in the Ryder Cup, so it means a great deal to have qualified for my eighth in a row and to be part of Luke's team again at Bethpage," McIlroy said. 'Rome was such an incredible week with the environment Luke created, and I can't wait to be back in the team room. 'Winning a Ryder Cup away from home is one of the biggest challenges there is in golf. We know it is going to be tough in New York, but we are all looking forward to that challenge in September and the opportunity to potentially do something special.' McIlroy, 36, has won 18 points in his seven Ryder Cup appearances. The automatic qualification period for Team Europe ends Sunday, Aug. 24. The top-six players on the European rankings at the conclusion of the Betfred British Masters will secure their spots automatically on Donald's 12-man team for the 2025 Ryder Cup, with Donald's captain's picks coming Monday, Sept. 1. 'Rory has once again been in superb form this year and I'm really pleased to welcome him to Team Europe as our first automatic qualifier for Bethpage," Donald said. "Clearly it is great to have the reigning Masters champion on your team, but Rory also has a wealth of Ryder Cup experience, and that is going to be important for us as we know how tough the challenge is going to be in New York." As it stands now, the other automatic qualifiers for Team Europe would be Tyrrell Hatton, Shane Lowry, Robert MacIntyre, Sepp Straka and Rasmus Hojgaard. 'I'm now looking forward to seeing how the other players perform over the next two months and seeing who joins Rory in the other automatic qualification spots," Donald said. Two weeks ago, Scottie Scheffler became the first automatic qualifier for Team USA.

Sepp Straka takes massive leap in European Ryder Cup standings

While Rory McIlroy was surely rooting for buddy Shane Lowry on Sunday evening at the Truist Championship, that didn't stop him from congratulating one of his other European Ryder Cup teammates, Sepp Straka, after Straka's second win of the season. This victory, though, meant a little more. 'At least this win counts for Ryder Cup points,' McIlroy told Straka as he walked off the 18th green at Philadelphia Cricket Club, having just edged Lowry by a shot. Straka captured The American Express back in January, but that was before qualification began for this September's Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black. Straka's win Sunday vaulted him 15 spots to fifth in the standings; the top six as for Aug. 24, the Monday after the Betfred British Masters, earn automatic berths onto Luke Donald's 12-man team. 'Really, really happy for that,' said Straka, who debuted two years ago in Rome, going 1-2. 'I've been kind of behind in the points because of that win at Amex not counting. I knew that if I just kept playing good golf, I would have a chance to be there. I'm sure this will probably help me out with the rankings a lot. So very grateful, and hopefully I can keep the good play going and keep getting some more points.' Here is a look at the rest of the European point standings, which McIlroy tops: 1. Rory McIlroy 2.
