Fans fuming as Biffy Clyro receive 'shocking' Glastonbury criticism
Biffy's set was broadcast last night by the BBC, but fans all have the same criticism. Biffy Clyro 's Glastonbury set is receiving high praise, but those watching it broadcast on TV all have the same criticism. Complaints have been plastered all over social media about the sound quality of the televised performance which took place on Friday, June 27. The Scottish band were the penultimate act to take to the Pyramid Stage last night, following Alanis Morissette, Lewis Capaldi and CMAT. Following Biffy Clyro, The 1975 took to the stage with a set some fans deemed a 'car crash'. Users on social media have called out the BBC for a poor sound mix which has affected the sound quality coming through the TV screens. One user said: "Sounds like they're in a cupboard." Glastonbury. The mix is shocking." A third said: "As a sound mixer how can you possibly make them sound this bad?" Somerset Live reported that whilst some fans criticised the sound mix, others made complaints about the crowd. One person said: "Biffy Clyro deserve a far bigger crowd than what they've pulled at Glastonbury." Another commenter said: "You'd see a more animated crowd in a mortuary." Tomorrow will see the likes of Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts, The Script and mystery artists Patchwork take to the Pyramid Stage. Charlie XCX and the Ezra Collective will perform on the Other Stage, with the Scissor Sisters taking to the Woodsies. Controversial Irish rap trio Kneecap will perform from 4pm tomorrow on the West Holts Stage. Sunday will see Rod Stewart and Olivia Rodrigo headline the Pyramid Stage, with artists such as Snow Patrol, Overmono, AJ Tracey and The Prodigy keeping crowds entertained across the various other stages. In other Glasto news, Neil Young's set will now be televised by the BBC, after it was announced earlier in the week that the star did not wish his performance to be broadcast. A BBC spokesperson said: "We are delighted to confirm that Neil Young's headline set from Glastonbury on Saturday will be broadcast live to audiences across the UK on the BBC.' Viewers will be able to watch the performance on iPlayer's Pyramid Stage stream from 10pm, tonight, June 28, as well as BBC Two and Radio 2. On-demand plans continue to be finalised. Young announced last year he would play Glastonbury in 2025, only to retract his decision upon learning of the BBC's involvement. However, he later changed his mind. Speaking at the time Mark Cooper, then executive producer of the BBC's Glastonbury coverage, said: 'Neil Young's career has been conducted on his own terms. They believe in the live event and retaining its mystery and that of their artist." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!

Lewis Capaldi makes emotional return to Glastonburys Pyramid stage
(Recasts for Lewis Capaldi's performance) GLASTONBURY, England, June 27 (Reuters) - Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi made an emotional return to Glastonbury Festival on Friday, two years after he struggled to finish "Someone You Loved" on the Pyramid Stage and took a break to focus on his mental health. The 28-year-old's set on Friday afternoon was not on the bill but a huge crowd was waiting after word got out. "I'm not going to say much up here today, because if I do I think I'll probably start crying," he said. "I just wanted to come and kind of finish what I couldn't finish the first time around." His set included new single "Survive", released on Friday, which details his mental health challenges, and ended with "Someone You Loved". "I might struggle to finish it for a different reason today", a visibly emotional Capaldi said. Beth Simpson, who was in the crowd two years ago, said it was good to sing along in better circumstances for the singer. "It was really great that everyone picked him up at that time, but its lovely that we've been able to do that in a time when he's felt that positivity as well," she said. "It's such a lovely full circle moment." Earlier in the day, Lorde attracted a large crowd on the Woodsies stage, where she sang tracks from her new album "Virgin", released on Friday. "It was absolutely incredible, she is such a brilliant performer," said Jamie Pringle, 26, who had just made it to the stage before the gates were shut to control crowds. Rock band Supergrass opened the Pyramid Stage, 30 years after they first appeared at the festival. "Glastonbury, what's up," frontman Gaz Coombes told a sun-drenched crowd. "Ironic" singer Alanis Morissette and Scottish band Biffy Clyro will be on the Pyramid later on Friday, before pop rock group The 1975 headline the festival for the first time. Other acts performing on the 10 large stages on Friday include Busta Rhymes, Maribou State and Anohni And The Johnsons. The Searchers, part of the 1960's Merseybeat scene, will perform their final show after more than six decades of touring on the Acoustic stage. J-Hope's New Single Kept From A No. 1 Debut By A Popular Rock Band
J-Hope's 'Killin' It Girl' debuts at No. 2 on the U.K.'s Official Physical Singles chart as Biffy ... More Clyro's "A Little Love" rules — but the BTS star commands several other lists. THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON — Episode 2105 — Pictured: Musical guest j-hope ft. Miguel performs on Monday, March 10, 2025 — (Photo by: Todd Owyoung/NBC via Getty Images) Like his BTS bandmate, J-Hope is known not just for his work ethic, talent as a performer, and rapping skills, but also for being able to sell music in the streaming era. The South Korean superstar has scored multiple smashes on some of the United Kingdom's songs rankings that are focused on pure purchases, as fans of the singer and rapper love to show how much they care by buying his music, not just pressing play on streaming sites. His latest single, 'Killin' It Girl,' almost doubles J-Hope's number of champions on one tally in the country…but it misses out by a single spot. 'Killin' It Girl' Debuts at No. 2 'Killin' It Girl,' a collaboration with rapper GloRilla, debuts on the Official Physical Singles chart at No. 2 this week. The BTS powerhouse is beaten to the summit by 'A Little Love,' the latest release from Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro. J-Hope Adds Another Major Hit to His Growing Tally J-Hope has only sent a pair of tracks to the Official Physical Singles ranking throughout his career. He appeared on the tally for the first time just a few months ago, when 'Sweet Dreams' — a collaboration with R&B superstar Miguel — reached No. 1 and spent 12 weeks as a bestseller. 'Killin' It Girl' Rules Two U.K. Charts 'Killin' It Girl' debuts on four charts in the U.K., and it rules half of them. While the track misses the No. 1 space on the Official Physical Singles ranking, it does command both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads tallies. The win earns the South Korean musician his fourth leader and milestone tenth tune on the two rosters. A Top 40 Debut Marks a Career Best for Both Artists It's a big week for J-Hope in the U.K., as he also rises to a never-before-seen high point on the Official Singles chart, which ranks the most consumed songs throughout the nation. 'Killin' It Girl' opens at No. 30, bringing both he and GloRilla to new peaks and earning the two artists a debut top 40 smash across the Atlantic.
