BIG THIEF Share New Single 'All Night All Day'; New Album 'Double Infinity' To Be Released On 5 September

Big Thief release ' All Night All Day '. the second single from their sixth studio album, Double Infinity, out 5 September 2025. Following lead single 'Incomprehensible', boasting 'crunchy psych-folk guitars, a smorgasbord of percussion, and the delicate power of Adrianne Lenker 's voice', 'All Night All Day' is an expression of love and desire without shame. Lenker sings: 'Swallow poison swallow sugar / Sometimes they taste the same / But I know your is neither / And love is just a name/ It's a thing we say for what pulls through / 'Til we come together.' Here, she asserts love is neither bitter nor sweet, but something deeper than both – deeper than sensation. It is the "eye behind the essence" which is bigger than naming. Making love can be the expression of this nameless thing. Double Infinity is the follow-up to 2022's Grammy-nominated album, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You, recorded last winter at the Power Station, New York City. For three solid weeks, the trio would ride bicycles on frozen streets between Brooklyn and Manhattan, meeting in Power's Station's warm wood-panelled room. Together with a community of musicians (Alena Spanger, Caleb Michel, Hannah Cohen, Jon Nellen, Joshua Crumbly, June McDoom, Laraaji, Mikel Patrick Avery, Mikey Buishas) they would play for nine hours a day, tracking together – simultaneously – improvising arrangements and making collective discoveries. Double Infinity was produced, engineered and mixed by longtime Big Thief collaborator Dom Monks. 'How can beauty that is living be anything but true?' Adrianne asks as she drives nose against the future with childhood mementos on 'Incomprehensible'. She understands, 'everything I see from now on will be something new.' The silver hairs on her shoulders are new as well. Yet fear of aging is cracked by proof. If a life is shaped by living, 'Let gravity be my sculptor, let the wind do my hair.' Being born, then staying a while, remains the greatest mystery. Adrianne claims her place and time. 'Incomprehensible, let me be.' Double Infinity will be released digitally and on cassette, CD, and standard black vinyl. Limited green and 'Sparkle' vinyl editions will be available via indie retailers and Big Thief/4AD webstores respectively. BIG THIEF – DOUBLE INFINITY Tracklisting: A1. Incomprehensible A2. Words A3. Behind the music - M'ADAM

Cork artist M'ADAM aka Adam O'Donovan has released his new single, It's You, and announced his second album. We asked him the BIG questions . . . It's You is his sixth single this year, keeping to his commitment of a monthly release schedule in 2025. He released his debut album, Horse Food Budget 1984, in 2023. His new album, Before We Die, is released later this year examines themes such as grief and environmental anxiety. Tell us three things about yourself . . . I am an indie folk artist from the north side of Cork City, during the day I research the energy performance of buildings, and I have a chocolate addiction. How would you describe your music? My music is very introspective, honest and direct I would say, mostly focusing on feelings that I feel compelled to write about. It's sad and melancholy, oftentimes when writing it feels like I'm in a movie trying to portray a scene that is in my head. Who are your musical inspirations? I think early in my writing I was interested in alternative and rock music. I love Radiohead. I listened to their albums on repeat when studying or playing video games. I really liked movie soundtracks and in particular the Garden State soundtrack, I remember listening to it in the car in Connemara as a cinnire on repeat for weeks. I was also influenced by my friends a lot - many of them are musicians and introduced me to acts like The Black Keys, I really liked the messy vibes in the earlier albums in particular. Also, the Cork band The Altered Hours were a big influence for me and Mac Demarco for a pick me up when I needed it. I had a brief obsession with Vulfpeck too. At the moment, I am listening to a lot of indie and alternative music like Big Thief, Slow Pulp, and Pinegrove etc. What was the first gig you ever went to? It was a gig in my secondary school. The band Fred played in our school and it was actually mad, they did all sorts of stuff on the stage. My other most memorable gig was going to see The Strokes at Oxygen in 2011. What was the first record you ever bought? I remember recording Britney Spears on the radio to tape and getting a B*witched CD at Christmas. My next door neighbour got me into 5ive, I loved pop and boybands when I was kid. But the first tape I bought was a rap single, Fight Music by D12. I also remember having CDs of Baha Men - Who Let The Dogs Out, Afroman, and Because I Got High (but I always thought the B-side, Bacc On The Bus, was better). Not long after that I bought a copy of St. Anger by Metallica, and my uncle then gave me a CD of Weathered by Creed. Looking back, I listened to a lot of different styles of music but from that point onwards it got rockier and more alternative. That's a very hard question to answer. I would say my most listened to song for me at the moment is either Dancing in the Club by This is Lorelei, MJ Lenderman or Born For Loving You by Big Thief. Favourite lyric of all time? "When I am king you will be first against the wall" Paranoid Android by Radiohead. Whenever I hear this lyric, whatever mood it catches me in, it always feels current no matter when I listen to it. If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be? Nessun Dorma - Luciano Pavarotti, performed live once a year and have a cry. Where can people find your music/more information? You can join my mailing list and you can find it in the usual places. I will be playing a headline show of the album Before We Die in the Sirius Arts Centre in Cobh on 19 of July and a vinyl of my upcoming album is available to pre-order if you want to listen to it before it's released digitally in August. People on my mailing list will get early access and discounts on the record.

Mariah Carey Seemingly Teases New Album, With Single Possibly Coming Really Soon

Mariah Carey is stepping into a new era. After going nearly seven years without dropping a proper album, the pop superstar appeared to tease on social media that she has a new LP in the works — and the first taste of it may be coming sooner than you think. In one video posted Monday (June 2), Mimi looks as glamorous as ever while sitting in a car, listening to a single with a groovy club beat on the radio. The video then cuts to a shot of the screen displaying an untitled track — 'T:D_MC16.mp3.' 'To show my appreciation for your support, thank you DJs,' Carey's smoky voice says as the track heats up. More from Billboard Mariah Carey's 'The Emancipation of Mimi': All 18 Original Tracks Ranked for Its 20th Anniversary (Staff Picks) Jessie J Reveals 'Early Breast Cancer' Diagnosis: 'Cancer Sucks in Any Form' Big Thief Announce New Album, 'Double Infinity' The clip then pans to the car's license plate, which displays the following: 'MC16.' The caption reads, 'What's your type?' — the same message that the video ends with. Based on the license plate, it looks like the Songbird Supreme is finally following up 2018's Caution, which was the 15th album in her discography — as in, her next LP will be her 16th, or 'MC16.' It would also appear that the first single could arrive Friday (June 6), based on another video Carey posted on Instagram one day after the first one. In the second clip, she sits again in a car while music plays on the stereo system, the engine loudly running before the shot cuts to a message reading, 'June 6.' Billboard has reached out to Carey's reps for comment. Though the 'Obsessed' singer has been active over the years with her yearly 'All I Want for Christmas' pushes, fans have been growing increasingly impatient for fresh music. Carey's last album, Caution, reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200, one of 18 top 10 entries she's scored on the chart over the course of her career. The new teasers come just a few days after Carey celebrated the 20th anniversary of one of her most iconic albums, The Emancipation of Mimi, which spent two weeks at No. 1 in 2005. To mark the occasion, she recently released a special multi-disc anniversary edition of the project, featuring remixes, bonus tracks, radio mixes and a cappella cuts compiled together in one place for the first time. Almost two years on from their last tour of the country, Big Thief will be hitting the road for a newly-announced run of North American dates. Dubbed the Somersault Slide 360 Tour, the 20-date run of shows will launch in Sacramento, CA on Sept. 17 and traverse the U.S. and Mexico over the next two months before wrapping up in Houston, TX on Nov. 7. These dates also include a previously-announced performance at New York's Forest Hills Stadium in October. 'Somersault Slide 360 Tour will continue into 2026, and these shows that have just been announced are the first of more to come,' they explained. 'Keep those antennas at a clear diagonal.' The tour will be Big Thief's first run of American shows since 2023 when they were supporting their fifth album, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You, released the year prior. The record was their biggest commercial success to date, peaking at No. 31 on the Billboard 200 and receiving a Grammy nomination for best alternative album, and best alternative music performance for second single, 'Certainty.' Big Thief released a pair of singles in 2023, and in July 2024, the group announced the departure of bassist Max Oleartchik, citing 'interpersonal reasons' for his exit. In February, Big Thief also unveiled a new L.A. wildfires benefit EP, with Passional Relations collecting some of their 'favorite unreleased songs' to aid relief for those impacted by the fires in Los Angeles. In the time between studio releases, vocalist and guitarist Adrianne Lenker would release her Bright Future album in 2024, with recordings from the accompanying tour appearing on the recently-released Live at Revolution Hall album. On Friday (May 2), drummer James Krivchenia released the album Performing Belief. Big Thief Announce New Album, ‘Double Infinity'

More than three years on from their last studio record, New York trio Big Thief have detailed their sixth album, Double Infinity. Set for release on Sept. 5 via 4AD, Double Infinity serves as the follow-up to the band's Grammy-nominated album, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You. Recorded at New York City's Power Station over the winter with longtime collaborator Dom Monks, the nine-track release arrived as the result of three weeks of marathon nine-hour sessions spent working with a tight-knit community of musicians. The new record is also the first to be released by Big Thief as a trio, having announced the departure of longtime bassist Max Oleartchik in July 2024, citing 'interpersonal reasons' for his exit. Double Infinity's impending release is also the latest in a series of happenings for Big Thief and its associated members this year. In February, Big Thief unveiled a new L.A. wildfires benefit EP, with Passional Relations collecting some of their 'favorite unreleased songs' to aid relief for those impacted by the fires in Los Angeles. In late April, Lenker would release the Live at Revolution Hall album, while drummer James Krivchenia released the record Performing Belief in early May. Days later, the group would announce a run of North American tour dates, with the Somersault Slide 360 Tour set to launch in September. Big Thief first formed in 2015 following two years of Lenker and guitarist Buck Meek performing as a duo. Their debut album arrived in 2016, with their third album – 2019's U.F.O.F. – peaking at No. 142 on the Billboard 200. Their latest album, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You, would reach No. 31, and receive a Grammy nomination for best alternative album, and best alternative music performance for second single, 'Certainty.'
