His bike's really strong speed-wise, so we've just got to sit in the slipstream, but through the corners I've not got a problem staying with him, and on the breaks, so we'll have another go later on."Dunlop said trouble with his gearbox meant this year had been "a bit of a nightmare"."Those boys just ran apace and I got caught up on lap one," he added. "But I don't think I'm a million miles off, I just need to get with them and get a tow because I just don't have that last bit." Chance for racing fans to hear from past Southern 100 champions

Racing fans have the chance to hear memories of the Southern 100 Road Race's 70-year history at a special run on 14 July 1955, the race has grown into a four-day event which attracts more than 300 entries to compete on the 4.25 miles (6.8 km) Billown Course in the south of the Isle of mark the milestone, several past champions will be sharing their stories and reflections during a special chat show in the Fanzone in Castletown's Market Square from 13:30 will also include the chance for fans to get photographs taken with the riders and secure autographs. Known as "the friendly races", the event consistently attracts many of the top names in road racing, with Michael Dunlop, Davey Todd and Dean Harrison all on this year's start the 18 champions visiting the island to take part in the celebrations is 91-year-old Ron Langston, who won the solo championship in past champions, include fan favourites Charlie Williams, Ian Lougher and Ryan Farquhar.
