A matter of taste: Nine servings of foodie fashion
Did you hear the latest? The high street is taking cues from our fruit bowls, dishing out a delicious mix of playful prints in juicy colours that are good enough to eat. Serve with a cocktail and a side of confidence and you've got this season's tastiest trend. On the menu is a River Island's 'Atlas' short sleeve chilli sequin dress—a spicy little number that turns up the heat for festivals and nights out. For daytime flair, add a dash of Mediterranean flavour to your summer capsule with an olive print wrap skort. Pair with a tank top and strappy Greek sandals or upgrade your culinary experience with its co-ordinating blazer. Bananas, it appears, are also having a moment (check out this week's How to Wear It). Expertly pleated and soaked in colour; Brazilian brand Farm Rio understood the assignment with its joyful 'Aquarela' dress. Ditto for British retailer Reiss. Inspired by 16 plates of illustrated exotic and tropical blooms from the New York Botanical Garden's archive, its satin 'Winona' shirt, part of an NYBG collaboration, giving citrus a sport luxe edge. More of an acquired taste? Fair enough. Why not whet your appetite with Bimba y Lola's lemon charm scarf - an amuse-bouche for the time-strapped and style-centric? Add zest to a t-shirt and jeans; dangle from a bag handle or elevate a ballerina bun. Their papaya nylon shopper bag is on-brand for a market stroll. Ditto for Zara's produce-inspired necklaces, which look surprisingly sexy over a swimsuit. Now, who said you can't wear your five-a-day? Bimba y Lola launches capsule honoring Georges Seurat for London's National Gallery
Spanish fashion and accessories brand Bimba y Lola is reaffirming its commitment to the arts. To celebrate the 200th anniversary of London's National Gallery, the label has partnered with the institution to launch a capsule collection that pays tribute to French neo-impressionist painter Georges Seurat. Part of the Spring/Summer 2025 season, the collection takes direct inspiration from Seurat's Bathers at Asnières, a landmark work in pointillism. It features a curated range of shirts, dresses, bags, and a printed towel. Prices start at €75 for the towel and go up to €265 for a medium-sized leather bag. The collection is available on Bimba y Lola's e-commerce platform and in selected retail locations. As part of the collaboration, Bimba y Lola and the National Gallery will soon release an exclusive video that explores the story behind the iconic painting, providing historical context and insight into its creation. Founded in 2005 by sisters María and Uxía Domínguez, Bimba y Lola is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The brand now operates over 300 retail locations worldwide and reaches 55 markets through its online platform. According to its most recent financial results, the company generated revenues exceeding €234 million in fiscal year 2024, reflecting a 3% increase over the previous year. This growth was driven largely by the strong performance of its international sales.
