Black Sabbath legend and reality star Ozzy Osbourne dies aged 76, family confirms

Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne has died aged 76. The singer of the British heavy metal band died surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday. In a statement which also asked for privacy, his family said: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love." He is survived by his wife Sharon and their five kids. Almost three weeks ago, Osbourne took to the stage for a final concert with Black Sabbath to raise money for Cure Parkinson's, an incurable disease that mainly causes issues with movement, Birmingham Children's Hospital and Acorn Children's Hospice. The band raised about US$190 million, according to reports. Some 40,000 fans attended the show in the British city of Birmingham, while millions of others streamed the concert from across the world. It was the first time the group performed in 20 years. "It's so good to be on this f**king stage, you have no idea. Let the madness begin," Osbourne, who struggles to walk and has suffered other health issues, said at the show. Black Sabbath formed in the 1970s and had a decorated career through the decades which has seen them produce 19 studio albums and sell more than 75 million records. This is a breaking story. More to come.

Yungblud releases live cover of Black Sabbath's Changes for charity

Yungblud has released his cover of Black Sabbath's Changes from the Back To The Beginning farewell concert for charity. The star-studded metal gig at Birmingham's Villa Park on July 5 - which raised almost $200 million for charity - saw the 27-year-old rocker tip the hat to his hero, Ozzy Osbourne. Now, fans can stream Changes - (Live from Villa Park) Back To The Beginning (Feat. Nuno Bettencourt, ii, Frank Bello, Adam Wakeman) and help raise funds for Cure Parkinson's, Birmingham Children's Hospital, and Acorns Children's Hospice. Yungblud said: 'This was hands down the biggest moment of my entire life. I got to stand on stage and honour one of my heroes, and the fact that it has touched so many is truly overwhelming.' He added: 'The best part about this release is that we can take such a monumental moment, immortalise it on tape, release it and donate all the money to such important causes in Cure Parkinson's, Birmingham Children's Hospital, and Acorns Children's Hospice. This is what Rock and roll is about. Stream it, buy it, add it to your playlist - let's raise some f****** money.' Ozzy, 76 - who has a special bond with Yungblud and was overwhelmed to receive a custom crucifix chain from him backstage at the concert - praised the cover: 'He did an amazing job. I couldn't have done it better myself.' What's more, Mercury Studios has announced that Back to the Beginning: Ozzy's Final Bow will receive a theatrical debut in early 2026. Currently in production, the film will celebrate the enduring legacy of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne. Sharon Osbourne was the mastermind behind the concert and Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello directed proceedings. As well as the War Pigs rockers, members of Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Slayer, Tool, Pantera, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Sleep Token and more took to the stage. Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, Blink-182's Travis Barker and Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood also performed. Stream Changes - (Live from Villa Park) Back To The Beginning here:

Kelly Osbourne celebrates dad Ozzy's 'magical' final show

Kelly Osbourne has hailed her father Ozzy Osbourne's final Black Sabbath concert one of the "most magical experiences" of her life. The 40-year-old star has thanked fans and all the performers on the star-studded line-up for the group's farewell show in her dad's native Birmingham, England, on Saturday (05.07.35) for the lift they gave the Paranoid hitmaker and admitted it was a night she will never forget. She said in a video shared to her Instagram Story: 'I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. "Thank you to everyone who came to the show last night, [and] thank you to everybody who was involved in the show last night. You have no idea what it did for my dad. 'It was one of the most magical experiences of my entire life, and if I keep talking, I'm probably going to end up crying again. So, that's all I'll say for now. Thank you.' The epic concert marked the 76-year-old rocker's official retirement and was staged to raise funds for charities including Cure Parkinson's, Birmingham Children's Hospital and Acorns Children's Hospice. T Ozzy reunited with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for the first time since 2005 at Villa Park for the show. The stadium erupted into huge cheers when Ozzy appeared on stage and he told fans: 'You have no idea how I feel.' 42,000 fans packed into Villa Park for the sold-out Back to the Beginning show, which saw Ozzy and Black Sabbath return to their hometown, 56 years after the band was formed in the city. Ozzy has undergone seven surgeries in the past five years and he has also been living with Parkinson's disease since 2003. While he plans to continue making music, the rock legend has insisted Saturday's performance will be his final one on stage. He told the crowd: 'It's so good to be on this f****** stage. Let the madness begin! You've got no idea how I feel. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.' Ozzy performed a selection of hits including I Don't Know, Blizzard of Ozz and Suicide Solution. Anthrax, Guns N' Roses and Metallica all performed during the 10 hour concert, while there were also surprise video messages from the likes of Dolly Parton and Jack Black.

Jack Osbourne shares tribute as father Ozzy Osbourne bids farewell with final concert in Birmingham

Ozzy Osbourne's final live concert became a moment of family reflection as Jack Osbourne paid tribute to his father following the performance. The 76-year-old musician delivered his last show at the Back to the Beginning festival in Birmingham on 5 July, performing to 42,000 fans while seated in a throne due to his Parkinson's diagnosis. 'It's so good to be on this f****** stage, you have no idea,' Ozzy told the crowd as he performed a five-song solo set, followed by a reunion with Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for four songs, including 'Iron Man' and 'Paranoid.' Shortly after the concert, Jack Osbourne shared a personal tribute on Instagram by posting vintage footage of his father bringing him on stage as a child. 'For everything I learned along the way…the final Good Night We Love You All,' Jack captioned the post, marking the significance of the moment for their family. Jack's tribute was part of a wider family reflection, with Sharon Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne also sharing photos and videos from the event. The concert, held in Ozzy's hometown, was announced earlier this year as a final opportunity for the musician to perform live and give back to Birmingham, with proceeds supporting Birmingham Children's Hospital and Acorn Children's Hospice. Ozzy, who started with Black Sabbath in the late 1960s before a solo career that has sold over 100 million albums, retired from touring in 2023 due to health concerns.

Ozzy Osbourne shuts down 'rumours' after fans charged £25 to live stream Black Sabbath gig

Ozzy Osbourne has stepped in to shut down questions on where the cash generated from the Black Sabbath final gig live stream will be going. The Prince of Darkness took to the comments section of his official Facebook page to quash concerns that all of the cash generated from the £24.99 pay-per-view tickets would be going into the artists' pockets. Ozzy made it abundantly clear that all proceeds from the live stream would be going to the three charities already set to benefit from live ticket sales for the Back To The Beginning charity gig at Villa Park Stadium. It's free. The concert, scheduled as a star-studded all-day event on July 5, 2025, will feature some of the biggest names in heavy metal. They'll be performing for 40,000 fans, who snapped up tickets to the gig in less than 16 minutes with tickets priced from £197.50 right up to £2,932.50. All profits from the gig will be donated between three charities: Acorns Children's Hospice, the Birmingham Children's Hospital and Cure Parkinson's. When the live stream was announced, Sharon Osbourne said: "We had such an overwhelming demand from fans from around the globe, who couldn't get tickets to the show, and they took to social media, pleading with us to broadcast a livestream of the show. "Being this is such a historic event, we just couldn't let them down." When the news was shared to Ozzy Osbourne's Facebook page, follower Flash Fairclough said: "If 100% of the proceeds from this aren't going to Cure Parkinson's and the children's charities associated with the gig, it should be free." Ozzy responded: "100% of the proceeds from the live stream also go to Acorns Children's Hospice, Birmingham Children's Hospital and Cure Parkinson's as well." As well as tickets to the live stream, the Back To The Beginning website also features limited edition merchandise bundles only available to streamers, including a special T-shirt and a collectible gig ticket. Ozzy cleared up where cash made from those will be going too. "Merch sales to Acorns Children's Hospice, Birmingham Children's Hospital and Cure Parkinson's as well." Also in the comments section, Ozzy responded to those querying the show's line-up after Tool was omitted from a gig poster while Alice in Chains remained on it, despite cancelling their upcoming concerts. Ozzy said: "Yes Tool is in, no Alice in Chains are not out."
