McDonald's just brought a bunch of international menu items to Canada — and pizza is back (kind of)
McDonald's Canada's newest menu update is bringing international flavours to Canada. On Monday, the restaurant announced a new lineup of menu items inspired by McDonald's menu favourites around the world. The new menu additions feature several of the most popular menu items from places like Germany, Italy, Japan and more. And it's not just sandwiches and burgers. Diners can also try pizza bites, McFlurries, specialty sauces and more. Keep scrolling to see what new menu additions Canadians can try — and what people are saying. McDonald's is bringing back pizza — well, kind of. McDonald's McPizza Bites are an international twist on a fan-favourite McDonald's Italy dish. They're also a callback to the McPizza, which was discontinued more than two decades ago. The bites are made with mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce, all wrapped in toasted pizza dough. The new Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich is a spin on a chicken sandwich from McDonald's Japan. The new McDonald's sandwich features a breaded, seasoned chicken patty covered in a sweet and tangy teriyaki sauce that's then topped with shredded lettuce, mayo-style sauce and a sesame seed bun. The second new sandwich in the lineup is the Big Rösti — a seasonal menu item at McDonald's Germany, usually available during the winter. A rösti is a traditional Swiss/German pan-fried dish made from grated potatoes, similar to a hash brown. The McDonald's sandwich features a beef burger topped with hickory-smoked bacon, processed cheese, a cheese sauce, and, most importantly, a golden rösti hash brown, all served on a rolled oat bun. The only new dessert item features an iconic European cookie. The Biscoff McFlurry, from McDonald's Belgium, features a Biscoff cookie combined with McDonald's ice cream. Biscoff is a cookie from Lotus Bakeries that originated in Belgium in 1932 and is known for its caramelized, spiced taste. One of two new limited-edition dipping sauces, this McDonald's U.K. favourite features a punchy hit of garlic. The other new sauce on the menu is a zingy chili sauce served at McDonald's Australia, where the condiment is extremely popular. Even though the new menu just launched on Tuesday, Canadians are already weighing in on social media. "Those pizza bites were soooo gooood in Italy! I'm excited to 'eat around the world' McDonald's style," wrote one person on Instagram. View this post on Instagram A post shared by McDonald's 🇨🇦 (@mcdonaldscanada) "Call me Mrs. Worldwide the way I'm about to become acquainted with these menu items," wrote another. "I am so hyped for this! I love the idea of trying other countries' items," one person added. "I'm gonna need a Biscoff McFlurry tout de suite," another person commented. "This is insane.I will be trying all of these," wrote a person on X. "A someone who travels the world and goes to all the McDonalds, this is great," another user commented. Some commenters said they want more international items to come to Canada, including the Chicken Wings from McDonald's Italy, the Big Brekkie Burger from McDonald's Australia and the Burger 280 from McDonald's France.

After June 17, a popular McFlurry flavour and two limited edition burgers are among the products that customers will no longer be able to order, to the disappointment of fans. 3 McDonald's is scrapping its 'spiciest ever' burger from menus today 3 The Biscoff McFlurry is also being axed from menus 3 The Steakhouse stack is another menu fans will no longer be able to get their hands on Credit: McDonald's McDonald's often changes up its menu, bringing in new items and axing others in response to customer demand. From today (June 17), diners will no longer be able to get their hands on the Lotus Biscoff McFlurry, Steakhouse Stack, Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers, and McSpicy x Frank's RedHot. The fast food restaurant relaunched its McSpicy x Frank's RedHot burger, which is served with spicy mayo and salad on a toasted seeded bun, on May 7. It costs £5.99 and was said to be the chain's "spiciest ever" burger. Another burger being scrapped is the Steakhouse Stack, which features two beef patties topped with cheddar cheese, cripsy onions, red onions and fresh lettuce, drizzled with a black peppercorn sauce and served in a toasted glazed sesame bun. It has been a hit with customers since its launch in 2023, with one writing online: "McDonald's Steakhouse Stack 8.5/10 very nice!'' Meanwhile, the chain announced earlier this year that it was relaunching its popular Lotus Biscoff McFlurry from April 17. The McFlurry, which costs £2.29 or £1.69 for a smaller version, features a Biscoff biscuit crumb swirled onto the soft swerve. Biscoff fans expressed their delight online when McDonald's announced the flavour would be returning, with one saying: "Oh my God this is a dream come true." Other fans have called for the flavour to be available "all year round". McDonald's launches brand-new burger featuring never-before-seen sauce Fans of the flavour will still be able to get their hands on the McDonald's Biscoff frappé, which is blended with ice and Biscoff biscuit crumb, then topped with a caramel flavoured cream and a dusting of biscuit crumbs. McDonald's fans fume after 'best ever' menu item is quietly discontinued
McDonald's fans are left fuming after 'best' menu item is quietly taken off the menu. The Chicken Bacon Caesar Wrap was a firm favourite among the fast food chains customers, after it launched in 2023. The burger chain discontinued the item as part of a 'rotation' of its menu, which the brand is known to do every few months. The popular wrap, which contained chicken breast strips, crispy onions, bacon and lettuce, wrapped in a soft tortilla, was removed from the menu earlier this month. A McDonald's spokesperson told The Sun: 'As part of our regular wrap rotation, we've taken the Caesar wrap off the menu for now. 'We're always evolving our menu with our customers in mind to keep things fresh and exciting.' McDonald's is known for shaking up the menu every few months and often items return. That means there is a chance the Chicken Caesar Wrap could make a return at some point in the future. It comes after McDonald's announced a new summer menu earlier this month with 12 tasty new additions including a fan favourite previously dubbed the 'best burger ever'. Launching in McDonald's restaurants across the UK, the new menu is set to feature the Biscoff McFlurry and Frappe, a spicy burger as well as a Pokemon Happy Meals for the kids. The ultra-popular Steakhouse Stack burger will make its much-anticipated return but it will set you back a little more than before. It features two juicy 100 per cent British and Irish beef patties, with cheddar cheese, crispy onions, red onion, lettuce, and a savoury black peppercorn sauce served in a toasted sesame bun and will only be available for a limited time. Originally launched in March 2023, it's been in and out of restaurants and instantly proved a huge hit with fast food fans. The fast food giant last relaunched the much-loved Steakhouse Stack in January 2024 for £5.39, however, now fans will have to fork out £5.99 for the burger alone. After the beloved burger was added to McDonald's menu last year, it created a buzz among customers. One user took to X, formerly known as Twitter: 'Whoever Ronald McDonald employed to invent the steakhouse stack deserves the world'. Another keen foodie said: 'The steakhouse stack was the best burger they've done in a long time'. A different user went as far as claiming: 'The steakhouse stack is the best burger on the McDonald's menu and nothing will convince me otherwise '. Another unlikely McDonald's fan agreed: 'The Steakhouse Stack from Maccies may just be the best burger I've ever consumed from that cesspit of a place wow'. More took to the social media platform to express their love for the burger: 'McDonald's steakhouse that's the best burger they've ever produced'. 'Steakhouse stack did not disappoint though' and 'Ngl the McDonald's Steakhouse Stack is very good'. One even expressed: 'Petition to keep the Steakhouse Stack for good', about the limited-edition item. But the Steakhouse Stack isn't the only exciting addition coming to McDonald's menus this summer. As the weather warms up the refreshing Frozen Cherry Lemonade is sure to be a hit. For £2.99 the icy beverage is a tangy frozen lemonade with a deliciously sweet cherry-flavoured swirl. Sweet-toothed diners will be delighted by the return of the Lotus Biscoff McFlurry and Frappe. The McFlurry, available in regular and mini sizes has crunchy Biscoff biscuit crumbs swirled into the soft serve. The Frappe has a vanilla flavour base, blended with ice and Biscoff biscuit crumb which is then topped with caramel-flavoured cream and a Biscoff crumb dusting. Customers who can handle the heat will want to try the McSpicy X Frank's RedHot burger with chicken breast in a hot and crispy coating, lettuce, cheese, jalapeños, slivered onions, and Frank's RedHot® Mayo all in a toasted sesame seed bun. For those who only want a taste of spice, the Frank's RedHot Mayo is perfect to dip a chip in and will be available separately exclusively in UK McDonald's locations. A new limited-edition Happy Meal will soon feature one of eight Dragon-Type Pokémon toys or one of two Little People Big Dreams books, 'I Can Make Amazing Music' or 'I Can Be a Wonderful Artist'. The special Happy Meal toys will be available from May 7 until June 17 so you better be quick. The limited-time Katsu Chicken One wrap with crispy or grilled chicken, coated in flavourful katsu sauce, onions, cucumber, and lettuce in a toasted tortilla is staying on the menu - and diners can get it for only £1.99 on Wednesdays. Also remaining available to order are the Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers that come in a four-piece or Sharebox. What's on McDonald's new summer menu?
