One fatally shot, two in custody in Blackford County
HARTFORD CITY, IN — Authorities in Blackford County are investigating a fatal shooting and have two suspects in custody.
About 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a home along South Blackford County Road 500 East.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
That person's name, and those of the two individuals taken into custody, were not immediately released "as investigators continue to gather evidence and conduct interviews," according to a news release.
The Blackford County Major Incident Team — including members of the sheriff's department and the Hartford City Police Department — are investigating the homicide, along with Indiana State Police.
