NBA Trade Rumors: Golden State Warriors might want $48,000,000 Milwaukee Bucks star to support Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler and improve title odds
Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry (Image credit: Getty Images) The Golden State Warriors are reportedly considering a move for Milwaukee Bucks ' veteran center Brook Lopez in free agency, aiming to add size and shooting around Stephen Curry. With the Bucks likely to let Lopez walk, the Warriors could capitalize on his experience and skill set to bolster their frontcourt. Why Brook Lopez Makes Sense for the Golden State Warriors According to Bleacher Report, Brook Lopez's combination of floor-spacing and rim protection fits Golden State's needs: "The same things that could draw the Golden State Warriors to Turner could also have them eyeing Lopez, who has a more realistic shot of landing within their price range. He wouldn't be as impactful, obviously, but the 37-year-old still offers an intriguing mix of long-range shooting and close-range defending." Lopez's Key Strengths Brook Lopez (Image via Getty) - 3-Point Shooting: Averaged 1.8 threes per game at 37.1% accuracy since 2022-23. - Rim Protection: Still a disruptive presence near the basket despite limited mobility. - Veteran Experience: Championship pedigree from his time with Milwaukee. Potential Concerns - Pace: Lopez's slower movement could clash with Golden State's fast-paced offense. - Defensive Limitations: Struggles to defend outside the paint, which may be exploited in switch-heavy schemes. How Lopez Fits the Golden State Warriors' System Offensive Role Brook Lopez would provide the Golden State Warriors with a reliable pick-and-pop option, stretching defenses to open driving lanes for Curry. However, his tendency to take deep threes could disrupt ball movement if not utilized carefully. Defensive Impact While not a versatile defender, Lopez's shot-blocking (2.4 blocks per game in 2022-23) would give Golden State a much-needed interior anchor. The trade-off is his inability to guard quicker forwards on the perimeter. Milwaukee's Free Agency Dilemma The Bucks' decision to stand pat at the draft signals a cautious approach, and letting Brook Lopez walk may be part of a larger financial strategy. Milwaukee drafted Bogoljub Markovic but plans to stash him overseas, leaving questions about their frontcourt depth. Why the Bucks Might Move On - Age: At 37, Lopez's long-term fit is questionable for a team prioritizing Giannis Antetokounmpo's prime. - Contract: Milwaukee may prefer cheaper alternatives to maintain flexibility. Lopez isn't a perfect fit, but his shooting and rim protection could address key weaknesses. As Jon Conahan noted, "A questionable decision, to say the least"—applies to both Milwaukee's inaction and Golden State's potential gamble. Did The Mavericks Draft The Next MVP In Cooper Flagg Or The Next Scottie Pippen? (ft. Andy Bailey)
On the Friday sports edition of 'Will Cain Country,' Will is joined by NBA Writer at Bleacher Report, Andy Bailey, to break down the NBA Draft, especially the selection of Cooper Flagg. Will asks, if Flagg isn't elite at one specific skill, can he really be a number one player in the NBA? Bailey believes that Flagg's competitiveness, IQ, and all-around game make him one of the safest, high-upside picks in years. They debate his fit in Dallas, his ceiling, and whether he's closer to an MVP in the making or just Scottie Pippin 2.0. Will also asks Andy his top NBA prospects from the last decade and where Flagg fits in that list, as well as how players like Jokic and Giannis slipped through the cracks, and whether the NBA is bad at spotting true talent or if projecting stardom is just harder in basketball. Buccaneers duo listed as 'underrated' in fantasy football for the 2025 season
Fantasy football is the ultimate game of chess for football fans. There are numerous strategies that a team owner can implement, especially on draft day. For example, some will draft going for value on bye week coverage; this is a sound strategy, but the best—and usually most expensive—move to make is the quarterback-wide receiver combination. Stacking a quarterback who throws a lot of touchdowns, with a wide receiver who catches a good chunk of them, is a deadly combination. That combination is precisely what the Buccaneers possess, as the dynamic duo of Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans no longer fly under the radar, as Bleacher Report gives them the "underrated stack" title. At some point every season, you'll hear, "death, taxes, and Mike Evans eclipsing 1000 receiving yards are the only things certain in this life," and that's for good reason, because he's going to get there every year. What makes Evans even more dangerous is his goalline fade route that has seemingly been unstoppable for his entire career, as the 11-year vet sits ninth all-time with 105 receiving touchdowns. You might not get the 40+ point breakouts from Evans that you would get from a Ja'Marr Chase, but you will get consistency every week. Mayfield is well-known as a gunslinger, and after leading the NFC in touchdowns with 41 last season (plus an additional three on the ground), you'd think that he would be talked about more leading into many fantasy drafts. However, he's still never a sexy name when fantasy football comes around. But, are you drafting based on name or production? In their two seasons playing together, Evans has logged 153 receptions for 2259 yards and 24 touchdowns, all from Mayfield, and missed three games along the way. The Buccaneers quarterback also finished last season with the third-best completion percentage (71.4%) and the fourth-highest QB Rating (106.8). Not to mention the Buccaneers have an incredible array of weapons for Mayfield to pass the ball to, so not only do you get the stack of Mayfield and Evans, you reap the benefits of the loaded pass-catching corps. Per FantasyPros, ADP projections in PPR leagues for Evans are 42nd overall (WR20) and Mayfield 61st overall (QB7), meaning that you could be the owner of one of the higher reward stacks, with a reasonably mitigated risk that wouldn't sacrifice the quality of your team by having to stretch and draft either player much earlier than you want.

Analyst Names Buccaneers Third-Round Pick as Potential Cut Candidate
Analyst Names Buccaneers Third-Round Pick as Potential Cut Candidate originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Jamel Dean has been a staple in the secondary since being selected No. 94 overall in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Advertisement But that could be changing soon, per Bleacher Report's Alex Kay. Kay believes Dean could be a cut candidate for the team, and it's not just for financial reasons. "Dean conceded a career-high 69.7 percent completion rate in 2024 and allowed a concerning 66.1 percent completion rate the season prior. Those marks are well above the 54.2 percent completion rate he posted over the first four years of his career, meaning it could be time for Tampa to part ways with the soon-to-be 29-year-old," Kay wrote. While the financial incentives are strong, the Buccaneers also have plenty of reason to move on from Dean after landing two potential replacements in Benjamin Morrison and Jacob Parrish on Day 2 of the 2025 draft. Advertisement "A change of scenery could do Dean well. He's still on the right side of 30 and is just over two years removed from signing a sizable extension commensurate with his contributions. Any team lacking veteran depth should be interested in bringing Dean aboard if the Bucs part ways with the corner." Dean is scheduled for a $15.1 million cap hit in 2025 and $15.7 million in 2026 to end his four-year, $52-million deal. That's a lot of money for a guy who might be relegated to a backup role at some point. It's a big decision for general manager Jason Licht, and could be dictated by the performance of some of this year's rookie class. New NBA star's brother goes viral for his reaction to Brooklyn Nets pick
The 2025 NBA Draft proved to be an emotional evening for one supporting family member after a clip of him crying went viral on social media. On Wednesday night, Michigan Wolverines center Danny Wolf became the 27th pick of the draft after being selected by the Brooklyn Nets. Many had expected Wolf to be picked earlier in the night and footage showed the 21-year-old anxiously waiting for a decision alongside his brother, Jake. Eventually, once Danny was picked by Brooklyn, it was Jake's reaction which caught attention on social media as he bawled his eyes out on ESPN's broadcast. Footage showed a close up of an emotional Jake, who struggled to hold back tears and was forced to cover his face as he reacted to the news. Similarly to his brother, Jake - who stands at 6 foot 11 inches - also played basketball. Nets No. 27 pick Danny Wolf's brother was overcome with emotion after he got drafted 🥹❤️ — Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) June 26, 2025 He played four years of basketball four Lake Forest Academy before heading to Washington University in St. Louis. He played there between 2021 and 2023. In his final season there, he featured in all 27 games and averaged 4.7 points and a team-leading 5.4 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, his brother Danny was one of four Brooklyn draft picks on the evening, the last of the quartet to hear his name called in the first round. The Nets final two selections of Wolf and Ben Saraf marked a milestone for the NBA, as they became the first Israeli teammates in the league. One of Wolf's first actions as a Brooklyn Net was to correct his mother, Tina Wolf, on live television, by making sure she knew he was not drafted by the New York Knicks. The Wolf family conducted a live television interview minutes after he was drafted, with Danny's father, Josh Wolf, standing in between his NBA son and wife. While the 7-foot Wolf stood in a Nets hat, Tina took to the mic to talk about how proud she was of her son. 'We're so excited to go to New York! It was what he wanted and it happened!' Danny can be seen mouthing, 'Brooklyn! Brooklyn!' to his mother to correct her and not interrupt her interview.
