SpiceJet receives first two overhauled engines, ungrounds another Boeing 737 NG
Troubled airline
SpiceJet
on Thursday said that it has received the first two
overhauled engines
from global MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) firm StandardAero, marking a key step in the airline's phased fleet restoration plan.
The engines include a CFM LEAP‐1B unit used in
Boeing
737 MAX aircraft, overhauled at StandardAero's Houston facility, and a
Q400 engine
serviced in Singapore.
The airline also said that another grounded Boeing 737 Next-Generation aircraft has returned to service, which is set to aid its operational capacity.
