Awqaf ministry honours 603 outstanding Quran students
QNA Doha The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf), represented by the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance, held the annual ceremony of the Holy Quran and its Sciences Section to honour an elite group of outstanding and graduating students from Quran learning centres for the years 2023 and 2024. The event took place at the Imam Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque under the patronage of Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs HE Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanim and in the presence of Undersecretary of the Ministry HE Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani. During the ceremony, 603 students from various educational levels, from introductory stages to full memorisation of the Holy Quran, were honoured, in addition to 15 outstanding heads of Quran centres and 100 distinguished teachers, in recognition of their dedicated efforts in serving the Book of Allah and advancing Quranic education. The ceremony featured Quran recitations by students of varying levels, followed by a speech from Director of the Department of Da'wah Jassim bin Abdullah Al Ali, who emphasised that the event reflects the ministry's commitment to honouring Quran memorisers and enhancing the role of Quran centers as educational and moral institutions that contribute to nurturing a well-rounded generation conscious of its Islamic identity. He cited the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who said: 'The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.' Al Ali highlighted the major achievements of the Quran and its Sciences Section over the past two years, including the graduation of 181 students who memorised the entire Quran, the progression of 422 Qatari students to higher levels of memorization, and the enrollment of 92 distinguished Qatari students into the Al-Noor Educational Quranic Center. He also noted the organisation of various educational and recreational programs to motivate students attending the centres. A visual presentation during the ceremony showcased statistics on the development of Quran centres. The number of centers increased from 132 in 2023 to 148 in 2024, including 116 funded by the ministry and 32 funded by private donors. Additionally, 28 Quranic study circles were held in mosques, supervised by 1,016 qualified mosque imams and muezzins. The presentation revealed that the number of students enrolled in the Quran centers reached approximately 18,994 in 2024, including 2,249 Qatari students. The number of students who completed memorisation of the entire Quran rose from 58 in 2023 to 123 in 2024. The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) reaffirmed its continued efforts to provide a stimulating learning environment in Quran education centers and to equip them with the latest teaching tools, contributing to the memorisation of the Holy Quran and the dissemination of its noble values, in line with Qatar's vision to promote the values of tolerant Islam.

Honoring 53 outstanding students from Al-Qur'an Generation Schools in Bilad al-Ta'am District, Raymah
Raymah - Saba: A ceremony was held to honor 53 students who excelled in the Qur'an generation schools in the directorate for the year 1446 AH. In the honoring ceremony, Muhammad al-Nahiri, the general mobilization official in the province, congratulated the outstanding students who have learned from the Holy Qur'an , embodied it realistically in their lives and taught them the divine guidance. The directorate director , Yahya Al-Hamami, emphasized the importance of the Qur'an generation schools, which aim to build a generation armed with the Book of Allah , the light of guidance and consolidate the Qur'anic culture among them, praising the efforts of those in charge of these schools and preparing Qur'anic outputs of students who memorize the Book of Allah, capable of facing challenges and advancing the reality of the nation, in addition to mobilizing schools in villages, isolated areas and the directorate. For his part, the head of the guidance sector in the province, Radwan Al-Hadidi, called for enrolling in these schools to receive useful knowledge and immunize against the dangers of false cultures, especially in this holy month, in addition to mobilizing for schools in villages, isolated areas and districts in implementation of the directives of the Revolution Leader, Sayyid Abdul Malik Badr al-Din Al-Houthi, to pay attention to memorization schools. 13th Dubai Holy Quran competition for People of Determination begins with record 676 participation
DUBAI: The 13th edition of the Dubai Holy Quran competition for People of Determination was launched with a record 676 contestants participating in various categories of Quran reciting, adding piousness to the atmosphere of the holy month. Under the patronage of Sheikha Rawda bint Ahmed bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Holy Quran competition will witness contestants competing in the following categories: memorising the entire Quran, 20 parts, half the Quran, 10 parts, seven parts, five parts, three parts, two parts, and one part, in addition to one of the short Surahs etc. The objective of the event is to encourage the People of Determination to embrace the Book of Allah in terms of memorisation, understanding, performance, contemplation, and to ignite the spirit of competition among participants to learn and teach the Book of Allah. Thani Juma Berregad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Club for People of Determination, thanked Her Highness Sheikha Rawda for sponsoring the Holy Quran competition for the 13th consecutive year, indicating that it has become one of the largest competitions in the Gulf. 'The organising committee always seeks to develop the Holy Quran competition from one version to another according to the established approach to achieve the desired goals,' said Berregad who attended the second day of the Quran competitions. The Club chairman also highlighted that the increase in the number of competitors confirms the development of the Holy Quran competition in the region. For her part, Raeesa Al Falasi, Board Member of the Dubai Club for People of Determination and Head of the Organising Committee of the Holy Quran competition, described the current edition – coinciding with the Year of Society 2025 - as the largest since the launch of the competition. 'The continuation of the competition for the 13th consecutive year is the result of the care and support of Sheikha Rawda bint Ahmed bin Juma Al Maktoum, which yielded fruitful motivation to connect People of Determination to the Book of God and instill the love of the Quran in their souls. The memorisation and understanding of the Quran may become a beacon for them in life, guided by its guidance and enlightened by its light.' 'We have great confidence in all competitors for this version to achieve all the goals for which it is held. The People of Determination showed a great will to memorise the Holy Quran and contemplate its meanings in previous versions, which contributed to improving their pronunciation and developing their awareness.' Festivities kick off Ramadan Festival The Ramadan Festival of the Dubai Club for People of Determination kicked off with a large participation and various sports, cultural and community activities that will continue until March 20. Volleyball launched the sports activity competitions, where the kick-off resulted in Al-Maliya's victory over Al-Ahli 2/1, while the Al-Administrators team overcame Al-Shabab 2/0. The results of the "Football Five-a-side" resulted in Al-Hilal's victory over "Al-Emperor" 2/1 and Al-Nojoom's victory over "Al-Fursan" 5/2. The first day of cultural and community activities included the Ramadan Council and a group of various workshops and artistic segments with the participation of 12 partners and contributors to the Ramadan Council.
