Med Quest Camp at BPCC to inspire youth students

BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Northwest Louisiana Healthcare Sector Partnership wants to inspire middle school students to consider healthcare careers. BPCC nurses excel with top NCLEX scores in Louisiana Med Quest Summer Youth Camp is a week-long camp open to students who completed seventh grade during the 2024-2025 school year and will enter eighth grade in the fall. The camp provides an introduction to healthcare professions using interactive activities and demonstrations led by industry professionals. The camp will introduce attendees to nursing, emergency medicine, laboratory science, and other fields. The camp will also connect campers with mentors and similarly interested peers. The $75 camp will have two sessions, one from July 14-18 and one from July 21-25. Camp will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day on the Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) Bossier campus in Building B. The deadline for registration is June 25 and requires a signed waiver, agreement to camp policies, and payment in full. Acceptance is limited to 30 applicants per session. BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Students at Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) are leading the way in Louisiana. Bossier Parish Community College ranked among most military friendly school The NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) is a test for recent nursing graduates to determine if they are safe to practice. There are two NCLEX tests, one for registered nurses and one for licensed practical and vocational nurses. Both tests are designed to take information learned in school and determine if students can apply that knowledge critically. LSUA, BPCC team up for disaster and emergency program BPCC students in the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program posted a 98.72% pass rate. That rate does not just lead Louisiana's two-year colleges, but the entire state. (KTAL/KMSS)—For the 15th consecutive year, Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) has been nationally recognized as a top-ten Military Friendly School and a top-ten Military Friendly Spouse School. BPCC's Bossier campus placed eighth in the small community college division for being military-friendly and fourth for being military spouse-friendly. The Natchitoches and Sabine Valley campuses also received Military Friendly Gold designations, awarding their dedication to serving military members. BPCC Cavaliers gear up to host Region 14 college baseball tourney

BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — For the first time in program history, Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) will host the NJCAA Region XIV North Division I Baseball Tournament. BPCC won the Region XIV North title for the first time in 25 years and the overall Region XIV title for the first time, clinching their position with a doubleheader sweep over Angelina College. The Cavaliers finished the regular season with a 19-11 conference record (34-16 overall). The 2025 Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers team photo Winning the Region XIV North championship gives BPCC the right to host a four-team regional tournament at home. The double elimination tournament begins Thursday, May 8. The Cavaliers face Alvin Community College at 1 p.m., and Tyler Junior College plays San Jacinto College at 5 p.m. Play will resume Friday, May 9, with the losing teams facing off at 1 p.m. and the winning teams playing at 5 p.m. Subsequent games will be played Saturday, May 10, at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. with a final game on Sunday, May 11, if necessary The winning team will face the South Tournament winner in a best 2 of 3 Super Regional to earn a berth in the NJCAA Division I Baseball World Series at Sam Suplizio Field in Grand Junction, Colorado. Local college sports Several BPCC players and coaches boosted the team to this historic season and received postseason awards as a result. Head Coach Bobby Gilliam, Jr. was named Region XIV Coach of the Year, and Garret Blanchard was named Pitcher of the Year. Four Cavaliers were named First Team All-conference: Jacob Gillis, Dylan Biddick, Ben McKinnon, and Parker Gwyn. Daniel Pinkerton earned Second Team honors, while Zander Bretza and Gianluca Montanaro were honorable mentions.
