The Lionesses became the first England team in history to defend a major tournament title with Sunday's (27 July) win in Basel, Switzerland. Kelly's winning spot kick followed two huge saves from goalkeeper Hannah Hampton. The arty, colourful seaside town that is one of the best day trips from London

After a short bout of rain and thunderstorms, Londoners have been promised that the sun is on its way back to the capital. We're well into summer now, so there's every chance that you've now exhausted all there is to do in the city on a scorching hot day. The solution? Get out and go on a day trip. There's loads of wonderful places that are within easy reach of London – our expertly day trips curated list is packed with historic cities, cosy pastoral towns and charming villages perfect for whatever kind of excursion you fancy. If it's a seaside trip you're after, we've got just the place. Time Out named Whitstable our favourite day trip from London for summer 2025, but coming in close second was St Leonards-on-Sea. The smaller sister town to Hastings, St Leonards is a must-go destination all on its own. It was supposedly Queen Victoria's favourite coastal resort back in the 1800s and these days boasts a fab array of galleries, indie coffee shops, art deco architecture and antique treasure troves. Londoners can get to the town via an easy one hour and 18 minute train journey from Charing Cross, so there's really no excuse not to go and see it for yourself. Ella Doyle, Time Out's guides editor, said that St Leonards is a particularly delightful spot for foodies. She wrote: 'There's a reason so many Londoners moved to St Leonards-On-Sea during lockdown – it's a cracking day out from the Big Smoke for beachside drinks and a tonne of great food spots. 'Head to food market Heist (basically a much nicer version of Boxpark) for orange wine and street food, then sink pints at Goat Ledge, a vibey, colourful shack right on the beach. If you fancy splashing out a little, book dinner at the fabulously old-school St Clement's for white tablecloths and delicious seafood.' There's plenty more to do besides wining and dining, a bountiful cave of vintage treasures, stop by Teddy Tinkers and for a good dose of art, we recommend walking along the seafront to Hastings Contemporary. There you'll find rolling exhibitions from some of the world's leading contemporary artists, including the likes of Jake and Dinos Chapman and Sarah Lucas. here. Summer in Dubai: How hot does it really get?

Summer in Dubai has officially arrived. The season began on Saturday June 21, and is famously a time of year when temperatures are hot, humidity is rife and some of our favourite attractions temporarily close. Today, Monday June 30, we can expect temperatures to reach 41 degrees Celsius, with the humidity index expected to hit up to 80 per cent. It's going to be a hot, hot day ladies and gents. Generally, in the first half of summer, the weather was relatively dry with some active winds coming from the south. These patterns set the tone for the first half of summer. The second half of summer in Dubai is distinguished by a sudden rise in humidity, constant high temperatures and an activation of moist Koi winds. Koi winds are known for leading to thunderstorms after the wind encourages the formation of cumulonimbus clouds over mountainous regions and neighbouring areas. Moment punter punches bouncer to the ground at London Boxpark before being wrestled to the ground by security

This is the shocking moment a punter was caught on camera punching a bouncer to the ground at Boxpark in London before security wrestled him to the ground. The incident happened on the evening of May 12 at Boxpark's Camden location. Footage shows a bouncer brawling with two angry revellers before one punches him in the face, knocking him to the ground. A huge scuffle erupted with more people joining before security quickly intervened and attempted to pull the punter off of the floored bouncer. The man in the green, who threw the punch, pinned the guard to the ground whilst the others tried to break them apart. A crowd gathered outside the popular food and drink spot as bouncers and members of the public spent over a minute trying to separate the two men on the ground. The floored security guard eventually managed to break free from the man before being ushered away. The punter was then held still on the ground by security as the situation de-escalated. People who saw the footage on social media rushed to the comments to leave their input. One wrote said: 'Best thing for them bouncers'. 'Cheap kick at the end, why?' another added. A third said: 'Just another night in Camden,' whilst another joked: 'It did say box park.'

However, it is quickly becoming a household name with more than 4,000 restaurants across the UK, steadily establishing themselves firmly within the UK fried chicken scene. Tom Crawley, Popeyes UK CEO said: 'We can't wait to bring a taste of New Orleans to locals in the Elephant & Castle area from 17th April." Local seasoned fried chicken fanatics who fancy trying their hand at winning a year-round chicken feast, will want to be first in line for the 9am queue opening at Walworth Road on Thursday, April 17. If anything, it'll be worth getting up for the 'Brekkie' menu featuring the Chicken Brekkie Roll and Cajun Hash Brown.
