Did SEVENTEEN's Hoshi just shade BTS? ARMY and Carats clash over his Instagram activity

Back in 2019, BTS were at the height of their global dominance, sweeping awards left and right - almost effortlessly. But despite their reign, competition within the K-pop world remained fierce, and not every fan was thrilled with the results. Fast forward to today, a new fanwar has erupted over the 'Best Dance Performance - Male Group' award from the 2019 MAMA Awards, which BTS won for their smash hit Boy With Luv featuring Halsey. SEVENTEEN, who were also nominated that year for their powerful track Fear, had their fans - Carats - feeling their group was unfairly "robbed" of the title. Tensions have now resurfaced after an Instagram post revisiting the debate went viral. What ignited the flames further? SEVENTEEN's Hoshi, leader of the group's performance team, liked the post - sparking a fresh clash between ARMY and Carats across social media. BTS winning the Best Dance Performance Male Group award at the 2019 MAMA Awards SEVENTEEN's Hoshi likes an Instagram video Hoshi recently liked a video post that read: "Never forget SVT's performance 'Hit' at the 2019 MAMA, right after they lost the 'Best Dance Performance' award." On the surface, it looked like a nostalgic nod to his group's performance - but the comments underneath the post told a different story. Carats were seen claiming BTS didn't deserve the win that year, suggesting they only won because of their popularity. That, paired with Hoshi's like added fuel to the fire. A screenshot of Hoshi's like was shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), with one viral post reading, "He's about to enlist so he just doesn't gaf anymore," racking up over 22,000 likes. The drama had officially begun - especially since many ARMYs hadn't even seen the original video until the screenshot started spreading. Did Hoshi really throw shade at BTS? It's all speculation, but ARMY believe Hoshi's like may have been a subtle jab at BTS, especially given the years-long debate over the 2019 award. Carats, however, insist it was innocent. Some said he may have simply appreciated his group's performance, while others pointed out the caption was in English - implying he might not have understood the post's tone or the fan commentary that followed. begging everyone to put themselves in hoshi's place. a normal person who doest gaf about fanwars liking a video of his group's dance performance with a caption saying they fucking killed it on stage even after losing the award for dance IM BEGGING HIS FANS' VIEWS ARE NOT HIS OWN Still, ARMYs pushed back, saying even if Hoshi didn't intend to start anything, the tone of the post - and especially the comments beneath it -clearly suggested that BTS didn't deserve the win. That was enough to reopen old wounds. Carats knew that Hoshi was acting shady and they approved of it by giving the tweet 22K likes. They thought he was funny and real. I saw the comments But after we knew about it, they started creating excuses for him because they realized how bitter and unprofessional he looked ARMY vs Carats: A fanwar reignites Soon, the situation spiraled. As the screenshots went viral, the original Instagram post and the X tweet were both deleted - possibly an attempt to cool the fire. But the damage was already done. What started as a like turned into a full-on fanwar, with Hoshi caught in the middle. Whether it was a genuine mistake or quiet shade remains unknown - but speculation have been running wild, and K-pop Twitter is once again divided. Both sides have shared their own narrative with ARMY being loud on why Boy With Luv deserved the award and won it on merit. That's how that one came to post "Drink responsibly" for an endorsement during the height of Yoongi's hate train and his fandom turned it into Yoongi shade... They already are(Ss notMine) More about BTS and SEVENTEEN military enlistment While all seven BTS members - Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook - have completed their mandatory military service and were discharged by July 2025, SEVENTEEN is still in the process of enlisting, with members serving one by one. Blood Sweat & Tears (Wings) – 2016 One of the most iconic songs of the band, Blood, Sweat & Tears, showcases themes like desire, sacrifice and temptation. With its gripping music and intense lyrics, the song portrays a story of getting lost and yet finding the strength to keep going. Spring Day (You Never Walk Alone) – 2017 The song highlights the pain of missing a loved one and the quiet ache of longing. The metaphor spring day, used to depict the arrival of spring after a long winter, captures the essence of a long wait finally coming to an end. IDOL (Love Yourself: Answer) – 2018 In this song, the group embraces their true selves and refuses to lose themselves in the middle of everything. 'I'm never going to change; I'm never going to trade" – perfectly highlights this message. Boy With Luv Ft. Halsey (Map Of The Soul: Persona) – 2019 This joyful track is a celebration of love, comfort, life, and connection. The song urges the fans to cherish the little things in life that are often overlooked. Boy With Luv acts as a reminder that love can be found in the quietest moments of our lives. Life Goes On (BE) – 2020 During the COVID-19 pandemic, when uncertainty prevailed, BTS released this comforting track to reassure fans that whatever happens, life will always go on. Permission To Dance (Butter CD) – 2021 Permission To Dance is an ode to letting go and allowing yourself to feel good. 'Is that Jungkook?': Fan spot BTS member's Boy With Luv-era lookalike in K-Pop Demon Hunters

The new animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters dropped its trailer a while back, and it's serving some seriously next-level mayhem (in the best way). Meet Rumi, Mira, and Zoey — fierce K-pop stars by day, demon-slaying heroes by night. This girl group doesn't just sell out stadiums; they also hunt demons like it's no big deal. Performing and protecting their fans, they keep supernatural chaos far away. But here's the juicy twist that BTS ARMYs can't stop talking about: eagle-eyed fans spotted a boy band in the trailer that screams Jungkook energy. Is That BTS' Jungkook? In the K-Pop Demon Hunters trailer, there's a glimpse of a boy band performing live on a street in front of an audience, and one member stands out, rocking a white loose tee, denim, and a pink belt, totally giving off Jungkook's Boy With Luv era vibes. The hairstyle, the energy, and even the dance moves (though not exactly BTS's choreography) have ARMY buzzing, wondering, 'Is this Jungkook's animated twin?' The production hasn't confirmed anything official yet, so the mystery remains. But ARMYs? Hyped. It's like K-pop's unstoppable magic is weaving into animation, and K-Pop Demon Hunters is leading the charge. What's K-Pop Demon Hunters About? This summer's must-watch animation from Sony Pictures Animation. When they're not lighting up arenas, they're protecting fans from a sneaky demon boy band trying to steal the spotlight — and maybe a little more. Adding spice, Ahn Hyo Seop voices a rival demon boy band member, ramping up the supernatural showdown. The story follows three K-pop idols who find themselves pulled into a parallel world where they take on a whole new mission — battling demons threatening humanity. As the fight intensifies, they're joined by a mysterious member of a rival boy band, voiced by Ahn Hyo-seop. Together, they must face off against a powerful villain who steals souls. The big question is: can they save the world before it's too late? Whether that animated boy is Jungkook's spirit animal or just a wild coincidence, K-Pop Demon Hunters is making waves and proving K-pop's cultural takeover isn't slowing down anytime soon. Monsters beware — the K-pop Demon Hunters are here to stay, and they're ready to slay all day.
