Thousands take part in Boyne Parade through Glasgow
Attendees marched from different parts of the city – from as early as 8.25am – before converging in the city centre for a parade to Glasgow Green. (Image: PA) The parades are part of celebrations for the County Grand Orange Lodge of Glasgow to remember the Battle of the Boyne in 1690. A message posted on social media by Glasgow Orange County ahead of the major event urged people to behave respectfully. (Image: PA) (Image: PA) It stated: 'Let us honour the memory of the past with dignity and respect, and ensure our actions reflect the true spirit of our parade both inward and outward through the city. 'I encourage everyone to look after one another, stay safe, and make the day the usual, enjoyable event for all.' Nearly 60 roads faced restrictions as more than 3500 lodge and band members – as well as those who followed the parade – descended on the city.

Road closures expected as 2000 to march through Glasgow
The event, organised by Stand Up to Racism, will feature live music, public speeches, and demonstrations of solidarity, with participants set to carry banners and placards through the city centre. Those taking part in the march will gather at Barrowlands Park at 1pm, with an estimated 2000 attendees expected to join the procession. In a statement shared online, Stand Up to Racism said: "Our movement fights our government's involvement in the wars that create refugees. "We also stand in solidarity with refugees trying to rebuild their lives while being scapegoated and demonised by the very same politicians."
