NHL News: Bruins Meet With Exciting Prospect Ahead Of Draft
The 2025 NHL Entry Draft is just about here, as the first round of it is on June 27. This is an important draft for the Boston Bruins, as they have the seventh-overall pick and need to land a good prospect with it.
With draft day almost here, the Bruins recently met with one of this year's top draft-eligible prospects.

While speaking to reporters, including Elite Prospects' Cam Robinson, Porter Martone revealed that he had meetings with the Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers ahead of arriving in Los Angeles for the draft.
It is simple to understand why the Bruins have interest in Martone. This is because he is a 6-foot-5 power forward who has simply dominated both offensively and physically at the junior level. In 57 games this season with the Brampton Steelheards, he recorded new OHL career highs with 37 goals, 61 assists, and 98 points. He also had four goals and nine points in six playoff games this year for the OHL squad.

It also is not a secret that the Bruins desperately need help at the right wing position. Selecting an exciting prospect like Martone would have the potential to do just that.
Yet, it is also important to note that the Flyers currently have the sixth-overall pick of this year's draft. Thus, they will have the chance to select Martone before the Bruins, assuming he has not already been picked once Philadelphia is on the clock.
Nevetheless, it will be interesting to see if Martone ends up being who the Bruins select with their seventh-overall pick. They will have plenty of promising youngsters to consider in addition to him.
