Police seeking witnesses of Brandon shooting
The Brandon Police (BPS) is looking for witnesses of a shooting that took place on Wednesday morning. According to police, a 33-year-old man was shot in the hip, but survived the attack. The areas of interest are the 000 block of 26th Street, Alaska Bay and 26th Street between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Brandon police officers are looking for two suspects. The first suspect is described as a male wearing a black jacket with a grey hood on the jacket and a black hood over his head. He also wore a black backpack, black pants and black shoes. The second suspect is described as a male wearing a black jacket, red hood, black pants and white shoes. The suspects were last seen heading west on Westaway Bay. Anyone with information, even if it's a minor detail, is asked to contact police at 204-729-2345.

A Brandon, Man., teenager who had been missing since Sunday has been found dead, police say. The body of Owen Bedford, 18, was found in the Assiniboine River, the Brandon Police Service said on a Facebook post Friday afternoon. He had last been seen at around 2 a.m. Sunday leaving a bar on Victoria Avenue with some friends, his family previously told CBC News. More than 100 volunteers joined a search, the family said, and the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team began searching the Assiniboine River for the teen on Tuesday. Brandon police said Bedford's identity has been formally confirmed. "At this time, our thoughts are with Owen's family and friends as they navigate this incredibly difficult and painful time," they said in the update. "We extend our deepest sympathies and stand with them in their grief."
