11-year-old reported missing in Brantford

The Brantford Police Service is asking the public to help them find a missing 11-year-old girl. Allyssia was last seen Tuesday, July 22, around 4:30 p.m., near John Street and MacKenzie Avenue. She has been described as a 5'9' white girl with a heavy build and curly blonde hair. Allyssia was wearing an oversized white t-shirt with a frog emblem on it and black shorts. Police said they want to confirm the girl's wellbeing. Anyone who knows where Allyssia is, or has information that could help locate her, is asked to contact the Brantford Police Service at 519-756-7050 or Brant-Brantford Crime Stoppers at 519-750-8477 or 1-800-222-8477.

Suspect arrested in taxi driver assault in Brantford

(Hannah Schmidt/CTV News) A man is facing weapons and robbery charges after the Brantford Police Service received multiple reports of a man assaulting a taxi driver on the road. Officers were called to intersection of West Street and Farringford Drive on Friday around 5:50 p.m. When they arrived, they found and arrested a 27-year-old man. He has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats to cause death.

Brantford man arrested for early morning stabbing

(Hannah Schmidt/CTV News) A Brantford man is facing assault and weapons charges after police were called to a stabbing. Brantford Police Service officers were called to the Victoria Park area, near Wellington Street and Market Street, on Friday around 1:20 a.m. They were told a man approached a male victim, assaulted him and stabbed him. Police said the suspect ran off to a nearby apartment building on Wellington Street and walked into an unlocked apartment in an attempt to hide from police. Officers, with the help of the K9 unit, located the suspect and arrested him without incident. A knife was seized. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 27-year-old Brantford man has been charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and being unlawfully in a dwelling.

Seven people arrested in Guelph drug bust

An investigation in Guelph has resulted in seven arrests, as well as the seizure of drugs, guns, knives, brass knuckles, bear spray and a conducted energy weapon. Guelph Police said, this past spring, their Break Enter Auto Theft Unit began looking into a Cambridge man who they believed was trafficking drugs in both cities. Earlier this month, officers carried out search warrants at three properties in Guelph and two in Cambridge. Three vehicles were also searched. (Source: Guelph Police) Police said they found approximately $28,000 worth of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and Oxycodone. Officers also seized various weapons, $5,800 in cash and approximately $20,000 worth of tools, bicycles and home appliances which were believed stolen. Four men and three women, from Guelph and Cambridge, face dozens of charges. While police did not share a full list, they included possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of prohibited weapons and possession of stolen property.

Brantford man accused of violent sex assault charged with attempted murder

(Source: Brantford Police) A 28-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder for a violent sex assault in Brantford, and it's believed there may be more victims who have yet to report similar incidents to police. On Sunday, at approximately 10:15 a.m., an Ontario Provincial Police officer found a woman with serious injuries from a physical and sexual assault in the area of Golf Road, near Highway 403. The officer was there on an unrelated matter. The woman was then taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and has since been released. Investigators learned a man had picked the woman up near Queen and Darling Street, then drove her to the location where she was later found by OPP. After the assault, the man left in his pickup truck. That vehicle was later found outside the city. Officers arrested 28-year-old Alveen Ahmad on Tuesday. 'The identity of the accused is being released as detectives believe there may be other victims who have yet to come forward,' police wrote in a media release. 'Additionally, the accused was known to drive a black 2022 Dodge Ram pick-up truck.
