Wide Receiver Brayden Robinson Commits To Notre Dame

Wide Receiver Brayden Robinson Commits To Notre Dame originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Notre Dame has picked up another important player in its vaunted 2026 recruiting class with Red Oak (Texas) High School wide receiver Brayden Robinson pledging to the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame beat out Miami (Fla.) and Arizona to land this dynamic playmaker. Advertisement Robinson had a bit of an unexpected breakout in 2024. After catching 46 passes for 686 yards (14.9 YPC) and eight touchdowns as a sophomore while serving as a complementary weapon to veteran standout Taz Williams Jr. (Baylor signee), Robinson was thrust into a bigger role as a junior. Williams went down with a season-ending injury in game two and Robinson stepped up in a big, big way. He finished the season with 79 catches for 1,408 yards (17.8 YPC) and 15 touchdowns while emerging as one of the best pass catchers in the state of Texas. Join the Notre Dame Champions Lounge for the latest intel and analysis of the Fighting Irish! At 5-9 and 160 pounds, Robinson doesn't have prototype size you want in an outside pass catcher but his game is outstanding. He is a legit burner whose 10.44 in the 100-meter dash translates onto the field. Robinson isn't just an after-the-catch weapon, he's also a good route runner with very good ball skills. Combine that with his speed and electric athletic skills and you understand why he was so dominant as a junior. Robinson adds another explosive athlete to the Notre Dame wide receiver room that also includes fellow Texas star Kaydon Finley, dynamic Georgia receiver Bubba Frazier, Arizona pass catcher Devin Fitzgerald and two-sport star Dylan Faison out of Florida. Advertisement Robinson earned a four-star grade and a Top 250 prospect grade on the Irish Breakdown board. He is also a four-star recruit by Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN, with the latter ranking him as the nation's no. 293 overall player. The Red Oak standout earned offers from Notre Dame, Ohio State, Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Oregon, Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, Miami (Fla.), Ole Miss, Auburn, Nebraska, South Carolina, TCU, Arizona State, Arkansas, Missouri, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, SMU, Utah, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Colorado, Baylor, Texas Tech, Arizona, Kansas, Houston, Stanford and California. As a sophomore, he recorded 46 receptions for 685 yards and nine touchdowns. Notre Dame Commit Profile: Wide Receiver Brayden Robinson

Notre Dame Commit Profile: Wide Receiver Brayden Robinson originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Notre Dame picked up a commitment from Texas wide receiver Brayden Robinson, one of the most dynamic wide outs in the country. It was a big pickup for the Irish, who capped off an outstanding receiver class with the commitment from Robinson. Advertisement Here is the recruiting profile for Robinson: BRAYDEN ROBINSON PROFILE Hometown/High School: Red Oak, Texas/Red Oak Height/Weight: 5-9, 160 IB Grade: 4.0 (Top 250 caliber prospect) Upside Grade: 4.0 (Top 100 caliber prospect) 2024 Stats: 79 catches, 1,408 yards, 17.8 YPC, 15 TD Player Comp: Rondale Moore, Purdue Recruited By: Mike Brown Offers: Notre Dame, Ohio State, Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Oregon, Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, Miami (Fla.), Ole Miss, Auburn, Nebraska, South Carolina, TCU, Arizona State, Arkansas, Missouri, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, SMU, Utah, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Colorado, Baylor, Texas Tech, Arizona, Kansas, Houston, Stanford, California. RECRUITING RANKINGS ESPN: 4-star - No. 293 overall - No. 49 WR Rivals: 4-star - No. 40 WR 247Sports: 4-star - No. 40 WR On3: 3-star - No. 77 WR 247Sports Composite: 4-star - No. 340 overall - No. 52 WR On3 Consensus: 4-star - No. 354 overall - No. 54 WR NOTRE DAME FIT Robinson plays all over the field for Red Oak, lining up on the outside and in the slot. He can do some different things in the Notre Dame offense in similar ways to Jordan Faison, but the slot is his ideal position. He can be a weapon in the screen game, movement plays (jets, reverses) and screen game. Robinson has strong route running skills and shows good ball skills, traits that could allow him to do some work on the outside in certain looks. His size is a concern, but Robinson has the speed and ball skills to overcome it and be a pass catcher that can do damage down the field. Advertisement FILM ANALYSIS Let's get the biggest knock on Robinson out of the way up front. He's not a very big pass catcher. There are limitations as a wide receiver for a player who is listed at 5-9, which might be a bit generous. There are things he can do in high school that he likely won't be able to do in college. He and the Notre Dame coaches might need to do some things with him that look to overcome his last of size. Despite being on the short side, Robinson is very well built and is a strong athlete, which is certainly one thing that helps him overcome his lack of height. His strength and toughness help him make a lot of plays with the ball in his hands. Now that we've got that out of the way let's dive into what makes Robinson such an intriguing pickup for Notre Dame. First and foremost he's an explosive, dynamic athlete in every way. Robinson has legit burner speed, and his track time (10.44 in the 100-meter dash) shows up on film. He can blow past defenders on vertical routes and also with the ball in his hands. He gets to top speed in a hurry and shows excellent acceleration. Robinson's ability to quickly accelerate off the line and out of breaks allows him to be an elite separator at the prep level, and that should translate quite well to college. Robinson is more than just a burner. He's an extremely sudden athlete that is able to change direction in impressive fashion. He can make multiple cuts in a hurry and accelerates extremely quickly out of breaks and with the ball in his hands. He's a nightmare matchup in space due to this traits. Robinson shows good leaping ability for his size but he won't be a guy you're throwing a lot of jump balls too. What you want to do with Robinson is figure out as many ways as possible to get him the football in space, where his athleticism and speed make him extremely difficult to handle. Advertisement What I like about Robinson's game is that he's not just an elite athlete, he shows a really good feel for the game as well. Robinson is a really quality route runner. He not only eats up cushion well, he attacks leverage relatively well and shows impressive burst out of his breaks. He is great at finding openings in the defense with the ball in his hands but he also shows that ability as a route runner, which helps him get into space down the field as well. Robinson has very strong hands and tracks the ball extremely well. Landing Robinson also impacts the special teams as well. It wouldn't surprise me to see him get a chance to make an immediate impact as a return man. You have to find ways to get him the football, whether that's on offense or special teams. Notre Dame football lands its 3rd commitment of July 4th weekend, 2026 WR Brayden Robinson

The fireworks for Notre Dame football wasn't just on July 4th, it was all throughout the weekend with Sunday seeing 2026 wide receiver Brayden Robinson committing to the Irish. Notre Dame beat out Arizona and Miami for the nation's No. 340 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite. Robinson's commitment gives the Irish five wide receivers in its 2026 recruiting class, as they continue to add impressive playmakers to the group. Advertisement Robinson, at 5-foot, 8-inches and 160-pounds, most likely is ticketed for the slot, although he could play some on the outside if needed. This weekend saw three of the five committed wide receivers being added to the class, and to me, it was a bit surprising to see all three of them decide on the Irish. Typically, players are a bit pushed off by so many other players being committed at the same position, but Notre Dame has broken that train of thought. The Irish had a massive recruiting weekend, as the 2026 class now is up to 25 total commits, while being ranked as the No. 4 overall group in the 247Sports Team Composite.
