Chris Brown faces lawsuit over ‘Breezy Bowl' tour name
Chris Brown and Live Nation have been hit with a trademark infringement lawsuit just as the singer launches his 'Breezy Bowl XX' tour in Miami. The complaint, filed by local company Breezy Swimwear, alleges that Brown's tour branding is creating confusion and damaging their business. Breezy Swimwear, a Miami-based brand focused on women's empowerment, claims it has used the 'Breezy' trademark since 2018 and introduced its 'Breezy Bowl' promotional event in 2023. The company's attorney, John Hoover, told TMZ Hip Hop, 'Celebrities do not get to overwrite small-business names just because they are famous.' He added that the brand is seeking legal protection for its identity and to stop further consumer confusion. According to the lawsuit, confusion among consumers began after Brown announced his tour in March 2024, shortly after facing legal troubles in London. Breezy Swimwear CEO Kris Izquierdo said that since the announcement, the brand's Instagram page—originally created to promote their 'Breezy Bowl' event—has received messages from fans mistakenly believing that Brown would be appearing at their events. -Instgaram. The lawsuit argues that Brown's use of the term 'Breezy Bowl' is misleading and tarnishes the company's reputation and goodwill. Breezy Swimwear is now asking the court to intervene by ordering Brown and his team to destroy all merchandise bearing the names 'Breezy' or 'Breezy Bowl.' As of now, neither Chris Brown nor Live Nation has publicly responded to the legal filing. The tour's launch in Miami adds immediate urgency to the dispute, as the brand fears further dilution of its identity and customer base if the issue remains unresolved. The case highlights ongoing tensions between celebrity branding and small business intellectual property rights.

Inside France: Air conditioning wars, football focus and balloons
Inside France is our weekly look at some of the news, talking points and gossip in France that you might not have heard about. It's published each Saturday and members can receive it directly to their inbox, by going to their newsletter preferences or adding their email to the sign-up box in this article. Breezy assurances France's most recent heatwave has sparked a furious political debate about air conditioning - a facility that is not widespread in France, and is in fact actively resisted by a significant portion of the population. Until recently there wasn't much discussion about this, simply because it wasn't needed in much of the country. But France's hotter summers and longer and more intense heatwaves mean that air conditioning has come to the forefront of the political discussion. Advertisement Marine Le Pen's Rassemblement National - a party that is extremely reluctant to even talk about the climate crisis that is driving those warming temperatures, and in fact actively opposes renewable energy sources like wind turbines - has come with a 'grand plan for air conditioning'. The debate that followed seems to me to be a neat illustration of the difficulty of combating the simplified rhetoric of the far-right. Put simply, the RN position is: "It's hot. Let's have more air conditioning." Meanwhile the position of the left and the centre is: "Yes, it's hot and people in high-risk groups may need air conditioning during a heatwave. However, air conditioning is bad for the environment and it won't solve the underlying problem which is climate change. We need to look for alternative solutions as well, while working to tackle climate change." The problem is that one of those positions is a lot easier to communicate than the other. Also, when it's stiflingly hot, your apartment feels like an inner circle of hell and you couldn't sleep last night because the temperature never fell below 30C, one of those positions is instinctively more attractive than the other. That doesn't make it right, though. Air conditioning is a sticking plaster at best that solves none of the underlying issues and makes the problem worse. Even if we discount the overall environmental impact of AC units (and we definitely shouldn't) there's the simple fact that the heat chucked out by these units raises the temperature for everyone. Sustained use of air conditioning for just 10 days raises the overall temperature of a city by up to 2.4C, according to environment agency Ademe . ANALYSIS: Why are the French resistant to air conditioning?✎ Summer 2025 Predicting the future is always hard but it does seem like France is in for another hot summer . It's sunset ascent is quite calm; there's no announcement or soundtrack, at the appointed time it simply gently floats upwards above the Tuileries, accompanied by a murmur of joy from the assembled crowd. This will happen every evening (weather permitting) until September. The balloon rising above the Tuileries at sunset, as the assembled crowd take photographs. ‘Wonder How Long I Left It In:' Driver Fills Up Gas at 7-Eleven. Then She Catches the Pump Still Charging After She's Finished
A 7-Eleven customer says a gas pump continued charging her after she finished fueling. Breezy (@brinaaababee) captured the meter crawl in a viral TikTok that's accrued over 320,000 views as of this writing. She begins the video by showing the gas pump to demonstrate that she's finished fueling. Behind the pump, the digital display shows the price and amount of gas she pumped. According to the screen, she spent $76.77 for 17.33 gallons of gas. Even though she's purportedly finished fueling, the price and amount keep going up. It continues increasing until she places the pump handle back inside the fuel stand. 'Y'all better start watching these [expletive] gas stations! I wonder how long I left it in my car 'finished,' she says. At the end of the video, her total is $77.09. Meter Creep This issue is known as meter creep. Petroleum industry trade association PEI defines meter creep as 'an event where the dispenser meter display indicates an increase in volume when the pump is on, even though no fuel is being dispensed.' PEI reports that this is usually caused by a leak in liquid-carrying components. It can also indicate that there's a glitch or malfunction with the fuel pump mechanism itself. Other drivers have reported similar issues with meter creep. Trending Now Man Buys $80k Genesis GV80 Coupe With All the 'Bells and Whistles.' Then He Brings It Back a Day Later Woman Gets Into Her Kia. Then Out of Nowhere, Her Screen Starts Smoking In 2021, a Redditor posted a video of a nearly identical situation at a Costco. Just like Breezy, they held the gas pump handle with its lever disengaged. Despite not pouring any gasoline, the cost kept increasing from $52.50 to $52.55. In 2018, an NBC outlet in Orlando, Florida reported that a 'ghost gas pump' was charging customers while they weren't pumping. A customer who spotted the issue, upon reporting it to the gas station employee, was reportedly told that 'nothing could be done.' The outlet says that the gas station subsequently closed the pump for repairs. What if I Encounter Meter Creep? AZ Central reports that meter creep typically isn't caused intentionally to swindle customers. Usually, 'aging equipment or equipment malfunction' is the culprit. If you encounter meter creep, the outlet advises you to contact your local weights and measures department. These inspectors are tasked with routinely checking pumps at stations in their designated areas. They also inspect pumps if people report a malfunction. AZ Central notes that establishments with a history of violations are prioritized for inspections. Meter creep can be combated with routine maintenance of fuel pumps. Cleaning out nozzles and valves of debris and fuel residue can help ensure effective operation. Several TikTok users who replied to Breezy's video recommended she contact local inspectors in the weights and measures department to inform them about the faulty pump. Others were more concerned with her getting her money back. 'Better show the cashier and get that refund,' wrote one. Someone else speculated that 7-Eleven in question, which isn't identified in her post, will likely find themselves in hot water as a result of the discrepancy. 'That fine is about to be crazy," they said. "Report that gas station.' Many recommend that other drivers pay attention when they're fueling. As one said, 'You can hear the gas filling up in the car. If you stop hearing what sounds like liquid filling up an enclosed space, it's done.' Another said that meter creep is part of the reason why they prepay. Still others suggested the problem is more widespread than a single pump at the 7-Eleven Breezy visited. 'I would never get gas at 711,' one opined. Breezy Is Free : Chris Brown Granted Bail By London Court
Source: Gallo Images / Getty According to BBC, Chris Brown was let out on bail this week after being charged with seriously hurting someone in a London nightclub last year. The person he's accused of attacking is music producer Abe Diaw. Brown had been in custody for a short time, but now he's been released while the case moves forward. This all happened right before his big summer tour, and fans were worried it might be canceled. With the R&B superstar out on bail, it looks like the shows are still happening. His first concert, called the Breezy Bowl, is scheduled for June 8 and will kick off the tour. Not much has been shared about what went down in the club, but the charge he's facing is pretty serious. Even though the case isn't over, Brown's team says he's working with the authorities and is staying focused on his music and upcoming shows. After being released on bail, his 'Breezy Bowl XX' tour is kicking off as planned. The first show starts June 8, 2025, in Amsterdam, and he'll be performing all across Europe until July 5, ending in Paris. Then he's heading to North America, starting July 30 in Miami. Fans can look forward to big performances and special guests like Summer Walker and Bryson Tiller.
