Silva comeback in Bremen?
In what can only be seen as a surprising move, Werder Bremen are reportedly working on the comeback of André Silva! 'The way the loan went, neither side certainly imagined it would turn out this way,' said Werder Bremen's head of licensing Peter Niemeyer to Kicker magazine in May, referring to André Silva. The RB Leipzig centre-forward spent the second half of last season with the Green-Whites, but only made eight appearances and scored one goal in 422 minutes of play. Nevertheless, both sides could try again: The news outlet 'Deichstube' say Bremen are interested in Silva, because he 'fits in well with the ideas' of new head coach Horst Steffen. There has been intensive communication between the parties with positive signals. The striker is said to be open to a return to Bremen and is also willing to take a pay cut. Nevertheless, a transfer is not yet certain, which is why SVW is considering other options for the striker position as well.

Werder Bremen complete record purchase of Samuel Mbangula
Samuel Mbangula's transfer to Werder Bremen has been officially confirmed. The now former Juventus FC professional moves to the Bundesliga on a record €10m deal. Mbangula is Werder's second most expensive purchase ever. Only Davy Klaasen's €13.5m purchase in 2018 cost the Bundesliga outfit more. Werder's pursuit of Mbangula intensified after injuries to a trio of attackers left newly appointed head coach Horst Steffen with dwindling options. Prior to this deal, Bremen remained extremely quiet on the transfer front this summer. Only Mbangula and Leeds defender Maximilian Wöber have been brought in. 'We see a lot of potential in him,' SV licensing head Peter Niemeyer noted of his new signing in a club statement. 'He proved his quality at the highest level with the Juventus professionals last season. We have always said that we are willing to invest if we are convinced of a player and his potential. That is absolutely the case with Samuel.' 'Samuel brings good pace to the team,' Steffen himself added. Why Tom Jones postponed his show at the last minute
Sir Tom Jones has cancelled his concert in Bremen, north Germany, just hours before he was due to perform. The Welsh singer, 85, announced he had contracted an upper respiratory infection requiring treatment and rest. The show, originally scheduled for Tuesday 22 July, has been postponed to Monday 28 July. All tickets purchased for the original date will remain valid for the rescheduled performance. Fans and fellow musicians, including Olly Murs and Anne-Marie, sent messages of support and wished him a speedy recovery.

A LEGENDARY singer has cancelled a gig just hours before he was due on stage - leaving fans gutted. Music fans in Bremen, Germany were gearing up for the gig this evening, ready to sing their hearts out with their idol. 1 But sadly, Sir Tom Jones has announced that he has had to cancel his performance. In a statement, the 85-year-old said: "Hello to all the fans in Bremen. Unfortunately, I must postpone my show this evening, as I've contracted an upper respiratory infection that needs treatment and rest. "I know this is really disappointing and will cause inconvenience to you all, and I'm very sorry about that. "But the show will now go ahead on Monday 28th July, so I look forward to seeing you then. All tickets will remain valid for the re-scheduled date. "Until then, thank you for your understanding. Love, Tom." Disappointed fans immediately wished the singer - whose hits include Delilah and Sexbomb - a speedy recovery. One wrote on X: "I always keep u n my prayers. 24/7 so now u have 2 listen 2 ur body and just slooow down…much [love heart emoji] 4 u Sir. Another added: "Take care of yourself get well soon." A third tweeted: "Get well very soon Sir Tom xx."
