Popular rock frontman ‘doing great' amid battle with stage 4 cancer
Brad Arnold, the lead singer of 3 Doors Down, had a positive update for fans amid his ongoing battle with stage 4 cancer. 'A lot of folks asked how I was doing the other day. I'm doin' great fam! Almost every day, I feel a little better,' Arnold wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday, July 6. 'Things seem to be going great. Thank you for every prayer you all have prayed. With so much faith behind me and my own faith within me, I have no doubt of the outcome of this fight,' the singer wrote. 'God will continue to fight this [battle] for me……..and God doesn't fail. I love y'all!" Arnold's post was met with tons of supportive comments from fans and fellow musicians alike. 'Praying for you brother,' former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre wrote. Meanwhile musician Drew Jacobs commented, 'My heart is with you brother' and country artist Jason Micheal Carroll wrote, 'Still sending love and prayers, bro.' Arnold, 46, revealed his diagnosis with clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), the most common type of kidney cancer, on May 7. The cancer 'affects the tubules that filter waste from your blood' and 'involves surgery to remove the tumor or your entire kidney,' according to the Cleveland Clinic. The frontman said the stage 4 cancer had metastasized into his lung. Despite the grim diagnosis, the singer felt optimistic. 'I have no fear. I really sincerely am not scared it at all, but it is going to force us to cancel our tour this summer and we're sorry for that,' Arnold said in an Instagram video. The singer also asked fans to pray for him whenever they can. 'Thank you guys so much,' he said. 'We love you. See ya.' Arnold, alongside Matt Roberts and Todd Harrell, formed 3 Doors Down in Escatawpa, Mississippi in 1996. The band is best known for its 2000 debut single 'Kryptonite,' which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was included on 3 Doors Down's multi-platinum debut album 'The Better Life.' The band continued its success with its sophomore album 'Away from the Sun' in 2002. The multi-platinum project debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the hit singles 'When I'm Gone' and 'Here Without You.' The band's third and fourth studio albums, 'Seventeen Days' and self-titled fourth album both debuted atop the Billboard 200 and were certified platinum certification by the RIAA. The band's fifth and sixth albums album, 'Time of My Life' and 'Us and the Night,' peaked at No. 3 and 14, respectively. ESPN, NFL Fight Mark Gastineau's $100M Lawsuit Over '30 for 30′
ESPN, the NFL and other defendants named in retired New York Jets defensive end Mark Gastineau's $100 million breach of contract and false endorsement lawsuit argue in a new motion to dismiss the case that the five-time Pro Bowler's legal theories are contradicted by contracts he signed and defy basic principles of both the right of publicity and the First Amendment. In March, Gastineau filed a complaint in the Southern District of New York accusing ESPN and the NFL of using unauthorized video of him confronting retired Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre at a sports memorabilia show in 2023. The video appears in '30 for 30: The New York Sack Exchange,' which centers on Gastineau and teammates who were part of the highly-vaunted Jets' defensive line in the early 1980s. The 30 for 30 includes a clip of Gastineau accusing Favre of 'falling down' in the final minutes of the 2001 regular season, when New York Giant defensive end Michael Strahan sacked Favre and broke Gastineau's NFL record for most sacks in a single season. Gastineau, 68, says he has been ridiculed on social media over how he is portrayed. He says he never consented to the filming of the Favre confrontation. Gastineau also accuses ESPN and the NFL of placing him in a false light by omitting video of Gastineau and Favre shaking hands at the end of their conversation. Through a brief filed by Alexander Kaplan and other attorneys from Oppenheim + Zebrak on July 3, ESPN and the NFL assert Gastineau's case has numerous flaws. First, Gastineau signed contracts with NFL Films that—ESPN and the NFL maintain—negate his claims. Of central importance Gastineau signed a talent agreement which, in exchange for Gastineau receiving compensation, granted NFL films the right to his NIL and other aspects of his right of publicity, including his voice, actions and biographical information. The agreement also contemplated Gastineau waiving any right to approve how he is portrayed or to approve the film itself. Likewise, the agreement indicates that NFL films can modify and edit content. It also neither requires nor excludes 'any material to be specifically included in the Film.' ESPN and the NFL maintain that a plain reading of the contractual language should end Gastineau's case. As the defendants tell it, he granted 'unfettered rights of publicity, including with respect to the footage about which he is complaining.' Beyond contractual language, ESPN and the NFL stress the 'Favre Encounter' was a newsworthy event and thus exempt from right of publicity and privacy claims. The defendants stress that the encounter was of public interest because it concerned Gastineau's relationship with Favre regarding and tackled an especially divisive topic: Whether Favre took a dive to give Strahan the all-time NFL single season sack record. 'The Favre Encounter,' the defendants wrote, 'is a key development in the narrative of Gastineau's legacy, how he was impacted by Favre's sack, and how his New York Sack Exchange teammates viewed him.' ESPN and the NFL also argue that while Gastineau contends his impromptu meeting with Favre at the memorabilia show was a 'private encounter,' it was anything but. The defendants point out that Gastineau and Favre were surrounded by onlookers. Gastineau also wore a microphone provided by the film crew, which indicates he 'consented to the recording.' This was also not a hidden camera situation: the film crew was around Gastineau, and he was 'fully aware' of them. In addition, ESPN and the NFL stress how in interpreting the First Amendment, courts have consistently protected artistic works, including documentaries and other biographical works. The New York Sack Exchange and its members, including Gastineau, are fair game for historical reports and other media, the defendants insist. Through what is sometimes coined artistic license, filmmakers also enjoy substantial discretion in how they tell of events and narrate history. Lastly, ESPN and the NFL maintain that Gastineau didn't suffer any damages. He contractually assented to appear in a film and to the filmmaker controlling how he appeared. Further, 'waived any right to inspect or approve' how he appeared in the film. The defendants essentially argue that Gastineau is complaining about something he contractually accepted and thus can't establish he was harmed in a way the law ought to remedy. Gastineau will have the opportunity to try to rebut ESPN and the NFL's arguments by filing an opposition to their motion to dismiss. The case is before U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer. Aaron Rodgers Accuses Fan Of Being An 'Autograph Hound' As He Refuses To Sign Hat In Tense Exchange
Steven Bergman/ / MEGA Aaron Rodgers had a tense exchange with a fan while at the American Century Championship celebrity tournament in Lake Tahoe on Thursday. The footballer labeled the fan an "autograph hound" and refused to sign his hat as the fan claimed he was present at a Packers-Saints game "20 years ago." Advertisement Meanwhile, the end to Aaron Rodgers' sterling career is seemingly near as the NFL star said he's "pretty sure" the 2025 season would be his final one. Aaron Rodgers Was Involved In A Tense Exchange With A Fan RCF / MEGA Rodgers got into a tense exchange with a fan he claimed was an "autograph hound" during the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament on Thursday. The veteran quarterback was signing autographs on the course at Edgewood Tahoe Resort and bumped into the male fan, who claimed he was at a Packers-Saints game "20 years ago." According to the New York Post, the fan had a ticket from the Green Bay Packers' 52-3 win over the Saints in 2005, when Rodgers was a backup for Brett Favre. Advertisement "I remember the score; it was a blowout," the fan said. "Who'd we play?" Rodgers asked, and the fan replied correctly, saying New Orleans. Not convinced, Rodgers said, "Yeah, it's on the ticket," pointing to the stub. The fan then incorrectly guessed the score by 2 points, saying the game finished 50-3. "And I played?" the 4-time MVP retorted. "One pass, though," the fan responded. "I remember you threw a pass … I don't remember it like that, I was 16, 20 years ago." Rodgers, however, highlighted that he remembered the game and who he connected with on that pass, leading the fan to compliment his "great memory." Advertisement The NFL Star Called The Fan An 'Autograph Hound' Their conversation dragged on as he advised the fan to "look it up," referring to the game stats. "You can look it up, though, and I would believe you then I would sign your thing," Rodgers said, "but since I don't believe you, I'm not going to sign it." The fan's face fell dejectedly, and he started walking away, insisting he was at the game. "No, you're an autograph hound," Rodgers said. The individual then suggested he could personalize the autograph, which limits the potential resale value, but Rodgers remained adamant. Advertisement "You're an autograph hound," Rodgers said, while a "no" could be heard in the background. "Yeah, you are. You can't fool me. Can't fool me," the athlete added. Aaron Rodgers Is 'Pretty Sure' He'll End His Career This Season MEGA Back in June, Rodgers appeared in an interview on "The Pat McAfee Show" where he said he'll likely be pulling the curtain on his decade-long career with a final year in Pittsburgh. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is it," Rodgers said, per ESPN. "That's why we just did a one-year deal. Steelers didn't need to put any extra years on that or anything, so this was really about finishing with a lot of love and fun and peace for the career that I've had." Advertisement "I played 20 fricking years. It's been a long run. I've enjoyed it, and no better place to finish than in one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL with Mike Tomlin and a great group of leadership and great guys in the city that expects you to win," he added. Rodgers really dominated for the Packers and is the team's all-time leader in some huge stats, like touchdown passes (475), how often he completes a pass (65.3%), and his impressive passer rating (103.6). The only player he hasn't surpassed yet is Brett Favre, who still holds the lead in passing yards (59,055) and total completions (5,001). The Footballer Signed With The Pittsburgh Steelers Tammie Arroyo / / MEGA Rodger's comments about his career nearing its end come after he finally signed with a new NFL team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, after a two-year run with the New York Jets. Advertisement NFL Network insider, Ian Rapoport, confirmed the signing back on June 5 in an X post, writing, "Aaron Rodgers plans to sign with the #Steelers, per The Insiders. It'll be a 1-year deal. At long last, the four-time MVP lands in his best spot." On June 7, Rodgers made it official, as he signed his contract, reportedly worth $13.65 million, with $10 million already guaranteed, at the Steelers' facility. Aaron Rodgers Laments Public Interest In His Private Life MEGA Elsewhere in their chat, Rodgers expressed frustration with the public's interest in his private life even after insisting that he wants to keep it private. Advertisement It comes after the legendary quarterback wore a wedding ring during mini-camp and revealed he got married "a couple months" ago, but did not share any other details. "It's a sick society," he said. "I lived in the public eye for 20 years. I had a public relationship. How did that work out? ... Now I'm with somebody who's private, who doesn't want to be in the public eye, didn't sign up to be a celebrity, doesn't want to be a part of it." Rodgers added, "My private life is my private life, and it's going to stay that way. And I'm with somebody who wants to be private, and if and when she wants to be out, and there's a picture, she'll choose that, and she deserves the right to that."

Fans 'Go Wild' Over Morgan Wallen's Latest Walkout With Hall of Fame Legend: 'The Goat'
Fans 'Go Wild' Over Morgan Wallen's Latest Walkout With Hall of Fame Legend: 'The Goat' originally appeared on Parade. When it comes to Morgan Wallen's concerts, fans are usually just as hyped to see the walkout as they are to hear the live music. In fact, the East Tennessee native's entrances have become quite a tradition, serving as a major moment in their own right as they've featured a slew of big-time celebrities like Travis Kelce, Joe Rogan, Mike Tyson, Theo Von, and others. So when Wallen played his two-night stint at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin, on Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29, as part of his I'm The Problem Tour, ticket holders expected the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year to make a grand entrance with someone iconic in tow. Unfortunately for folks, that wasn't the case during night one of the two-show run as Wallen chose to walk out to the stage solo — a rare event. But, night two was a different story. On Sunday, June 29, the 'Love Somebody' hitmaker surprised fans when he invited NFL legend and former Green Bay Packer quarterback Brett Favre to take part in his pre-show routine. The pair had fans screaming as they strolled out together, with attendees catching a clear view of the spectacle on the jumbotron. A fan video shared on TikTok shows the moment in action and features the words 'Just when we think Morgan Wallen is walking out alone, he makes Wisconsin go wild with Brett freaking Favre,' spread across the screen. The clip shows Wallen walking solo, wearing a ball cap, jeans, and a dress shirt. 'Broadway Girls' can be heard playing over the loudspeaker as he meets Favre halfway. The two can be seen shaking hands before sharing a hug and a smile. 'The legend himself,' one follower commented below the video, including two heart emojis in their message. 'The way I would have simply passed away,' another follower wrote, with a third person adding, 'The GOAT.' Wallen's back-to-back shows at Camp Randall Stadium were quite a treat for folks as no other artist has performed at the facility, which is home to the Wisconsin Badgers, since 1997.
