Soccer-PSG and Chelsea set for Club World Cup final showdown in US
Soccer Football - FIFA Club World Cup - Semi Final - Paris St Germain v Real Madrid - MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey, U.S. - July 9, 2025 Paris St Germain players pose for a team group photo before the match REUTERS/Brian Snyder EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Reuters) -Paris St Germain (PSG) will face Chelsea in the final of FIFA's revamped 32-team Club World Cup on Sunday, capping off a month-long tournament in the United States that, while sparking debates about the weather and calendar, has delivered drama akin to a nations' World Cup. The French and English sides, two of European football's most powerful and richest clubs, will compete for the honour of being the first champions of FIFA's expanded competition, created with the promise of revolutionising club football and as a glittering curtain-raiser for the 2026 World Cup in North America. The final, scheduled for midday at a sweltering MetLife Stadiumin New Jersey, follows a tournament filled with surprises, including shock exits for Manchester City and Inter Milan at the hands of underdogs Al Hilal and Fluminense. PSG have been in scintillating form, winning seven of their last eight matches without conceding a single goal. Luis Enrique's side showcased their high-pressing, fast-paced, vertical style to devastating effect in a 4-0 demolition of Real Madrid in the semi-finals. Two early turnovers, forced by PSG's relentless press, led to a commanding two-goal lead within nine minutes. The Parisians, fresh off their maiden Champions League triumph last month, are chasing their first world title. Manager Luis Enrique has revitalised the team, replacing departing stars Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe with a youthful, dynamic squad committed to his total football ethos. Midfield orchestrator Vitinha has been pivotal, while flying fullbacks Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi provide width and pace. Up front, Ballon d'Or contender Ousmane Dembele has shone, delivering crucial goals and assists. PSG's defensive solidity has also been remarkable, with their high turnover rate — averaging seven per hour of play —proving instrumental throughout the competition. Luis Enrique, who has already experienced glory leading Barcelona to a treble a decade ago, has never lost a one-off club final, winning 11 of 11. Chelsea, meanwhile, have taken the longer road to the final, arriving in the U.S. after winning Europe's third-tier Conference League following a sub-par domestic campaign in which they barely managed a top-four Premier League finish. Chelsea have rallied in the tournament and the final gives manager Enzo Maresca a chance for redemption after being questioned due to struggles with a squad that cost Chelsea over 1 billion euros ($1.17 billion) in recent years. The mid-tournament addition of Joao Pedro has proven inspired, with the Brazilian forward netting twice in their semi-final win over his childhood team Fluminense. He has combined well with Cole Palmer in attack, while Chelsea's midfield trio of Enzo Fernandez, Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo has excelled at breaking up play and exploiting spaces. ePIC Blockchain Signs LOI with A.R.T. Digital to Redefine Bitcoin Miner Design with Breakthrough Air-Cooling Technology
Austin, Texas, June 24th, 2025, FinanceWire A.R.T. Digital Holdings Corp. (OTC:CGAC), a digital energy and infrastructure company, has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with ePIC Blockchain Technologies, a leader in ASIC and system design, to co-develop a next-generation, containerized Bitcoin mining system built around Forced Physics' exclusive JouleForce cooling technology. This partnership marks a significant shift in miner infrastructure design, integrating a first-of-its-kind dry air cooling solution that delivers high-density performance without water, refrigerants, or traditional HVAC complexity. Engineering a New Cooling Standard Unlike hydro or immersion cooling, which rely on old concepts and liquid-to-chip transfer, JouleForce is a fundamental technological advancement in thermal management. It eliminates the need for liquid exchange, with its patented system removing heat directly from the chip to air, simplifying the cooling path and cutting operational costs. While most ASIC manufacturers are shifting to hydro units requiring pumps, fans, and towers to cool circulating fluids, JouleForce outperforms these systems using only air, reducing complexity, energy usage, and infrastructure overhead. "This is not an incremental step—it's a rethinking of what cooling should be," said Brian Snyder, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at A.R.T. Digital. "We're pushing past legacy models with a solution that uses less air, less energy, no water, low noise, and delivers greater efficiency. This unlocks regions and opportunities that were previously off the table." Designed From the Ground Up While prior testing has proven JouleForce's effectiveness in retrofitted systems, this collaboration with ePIC Blockchain will deliver the first purpose-built platform explicitly designed to maximize this technology. The new containerized system will feature a single high-power blower, reduced fan load, and optimized airflow all tuned for the JouleForce thermal architecture. ePIC's system integration expertise ensures seamless hardware and firmware alignment for deployment-ready performance. Early prototype designs have already been completed and are operational with impressive results "Together with ePIC, we're not adapting old systems, we're engineering the future," added Snyder. Under the LOI with Forced Physics, A.R.T. Digital holds exclusive rights to deploy JouleForce in the Bitcoin mining sector. This positions A.R.T. Digital and ePIC to introduce a system no other miner can offer, with potential applications worldwide in high-temperature, low-infrastructure environments. About A.R.T. Digital Holdings Corp. A.R.T. Digital Holdings Corp. (OTC: CGAC) is a Bitcoin mining and digital energy company developing scalable infrastructure to convert electricity into monetizable compute. Its Kaboomracks division specializes in hardware, engineering, and logistics solutions for high-performance operations. About ePIC Blockchain Technologies ePIC Blockchain Technologies is a leading system and semiconductor design company for Proof-of-Work mining. ePIC delivers advanced ASIC solutions, firmware, and fleet architecture optimized for energy efficiency and scale.

What are the main US military bases in the Middle East?
FILE PHOTO: U.S. President Donald Trump delivers remarks to U.S. troops, next to a banner reading, \"Peace Through Strength\", during a visit to Al Udeid Air Base in Doha, Qatar, May 15, 2025. REUTERS/Brian Snyder/File Photo What are the main US military bases in the Middle East? U.S. forces have struck Iran's key nuclear sites, drawing threats from Tehran to retaliate, with U.S. military installations in the region a potential target. Following are significant U.S. facilities in the Middle East: BAHRAIN: Home to the headquarters of the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet, whose area of responsibility includes the Gulf, Red Sea, Arabian Sea and parts of the Indian Ocean. QATAR: The 24-hectare Al Udeid Air Base, in the desert outside the capital Doha, is the forward headquarters for U.S. Central Command, which directs U.S. military operations in a huge swathe of territory stretching from Egypt in the west to Kazakhstan in the east. The Middle East's largest U.S. base houses around 10,000 troops. KUWAIT: Several sprawling military installations include Camp Arifjan, the forward headquarters of U.S. Army Central and the Ali Al Salem Air Base, roughly 40 kilometers from the Iraqi border and known as "The Rock" for its isolated, rugged environment. Camp Buehring was established during the 2003 Iraq War and is a staging post for U.S. Army units deploying into Iraq and Syria, according to the U.S. Army website. UNITED ARAB EMIRATES: The Al Dhafra Air Base, situated south of UAE capital Abu Dhabi and shared with the UAE Air Force, is a critical U.S. Air Force hub that has supported key missions against the Islamic State, as well as reconnaissance deployments across the region, according to the U.S. Air Force Central Command. Dubai's Jebel Ali Port, while not a formal military base, is the U.S. Navy's largest port of call in the Middle East that regularly hosts U.S. aircraft carriers and other vessels. IRAQ: The U.S. maintains a presence at Ain Al Asad Air Base in western Anbar province, supporting Iraqi security forces and contributing to the NATO mission, according to the White House. Iranian missile strikes targeted the base in 2020, in retaliation for the U.S. killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani. Situated in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region of northern Iraq, Erbil Air Base serves as a hub for U.S. and coalition forces conducting training exercises and battle drills. The base supports U.S. military efforts by providing a secure location for training, intelligence sharing, and logistical coordination in northern Iraq, according to the congressional report. SAUDI ARABIA: U.S. soldiers in Saudi Arabia -- which numbered 2,321 in 2024 according to a White House letter -- operate in coordination with the Saudi government, providing air and missile defense capabilities and support the operation of U.S. military aircraft. Some are stationed roughly 60 kilometres south of Riyadh, at Prince Sultan Air Base, which supports U.S. Army air defense assets including Patriot missile batteries and Terminal High Altitude Area Defense systems. JORDAN: Located in Azraq, 100 kilometres northeast of the capital Amman, the Muwaffaq al Salti Air Base hosts the U.S. Air Forces Central's 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing, which engages in missions across the Levant, according to a 2024 report in the library of Congress. U.S. military facilities in the Middle East
FILE PHOTO: U.S. President Donald Trump delivers remarks to U.S. troops, next to a banner reading, \"Peace Through Strength\", during a visit to Al Udeid Air Base in Doha, Qatar, May 15, 2025. REUTERS/Brian Snyder/File Photo U.S. forces struck Iran's three main nuclear sites on Sunday, after a week of Israeli strikes on Iranian targets, and Iran said it reserved all options to defend itself. Tehran had previously conveyed to Washington that it would respond firmly if the U.S. directly attacked Iran, and it has warned that U.S. assets in the region could be a target if it was attacked. The U.S., which has long had major military bases in the Gulf Arab States, moved some aircraft and ships last week that may be vulnerable to a potential Iranian attack and limited access to its largest installation, Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Below is a map of U.S. facilities in the region. REUTERS Join ST's Telegram channel and get the latest breaking news delivered to you.
