New season of 'best Walking Dead spin-off' finally streaming
All episodes are available for fans to binge The new season of what some fans consider the 'best Walking Dead spin-off' is finally streaming. Fans can finally binge all episodes of Dead City season two from today (July 10). Viewers just need access to Sky Max or an entertainment pass on NOW streaming platform. Fans over in the UK have had to wait a considerable amount of more time than those in the US for its release. However, all eight episodes have been released at once. Here is everything you need to know about The Walking Dead: Dead City season two, including plot, cast and reviews so far. What is second season of The Walking Dead: Dead City all about? The series follows two of the most popular characters from the main and original Walking Dead series in Maggie and Negan. Audiences are used to seeing them on opposite sides but the first season saw them traveling together into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan cut off from the mainland . They were in search of Maggie's kidnapped son, Hershel. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of chaos, danger, beauty, and terror. Season two picks up a year after Maggie infiltrated New York to save her son. Her group, The Brocks have been forced to join the New Babylon Federation while Maggie has been trying to move on with her life with teen son Hershel and Ginny. However, those now in charge want to conscript the residents for a mission to finally take over the city. Meanwhile, Negan attempts to bring together the gangs that control Manhattan, knowing an invasion is inevitable. Who stars in The Walking Dead: Dead City season two? Lauren Cohan reprises her roles as Maggie Greene: formerly a part of Rick Grimes' group on The Walking Dead. She is the leader of the Bricks, a community of survivors that relocated to New York from Virginia, where it was known as the Hilltop Colony. Jeffrey Dean Morgan also returns as Negan: The reformed former leader of the Saviors who left the Commonwealth with his pregnant wife to build a life together at the end of The Walking Dead. Gaius Charles as Perlie Armstrong: A marshal for the New Babylon Federation, a network of survivor communities in New York, who is tasked with hunting down Negan. Željko Ivanek as Mile Jurkovic / The Croat: from Croatia, hence his name, he is a sadistic former member of the Saviors who kidnapped Maggie's son in season one. He is also the leader of the Burazi (Brothers), a group of hostile survivors who have taken control of Manhattan. Mahina Napoleon as Ginny: A young girl under Negan's care who is selectively mute following the traumatic death of her father. Lisa Emery as The Dama: The Croat's mysterious ally. Logan Kim takes over the part of Hershel Rhee, Maggie's teenage son in season two. Orange is the New Black's Dascha Polanco plays Lucia Narvaez: A high-ranking marshal for New Babylon who takes part in their mission to control Manhattan. Keir Gilchrist as Benjamin Pierce: New Babylon's historian who documents the rebuilding of society and is fascinated by New York City. What have The Walking Dead: Dead City reviews been like for season two? The second season's final has now aired in the US and as a result, full series reviews have started to be shared online. The first season received some high praise from fans, with one even claiming: "It's definitely the best of the three spin off shows. I had low expectations going into this as the Daryl spin off was a big disappointment. But I was pleasantly surprised by how good this was and really enjoyed it." Unfortunately, it seems the second season hasn't wowed the critics as much. It only has a 63% rating on Rotten Tomatoes while season one managed 80%. However, one reviewer claimed the leads make it worth a watch. They said: "Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohen make the writer's job easy as they consistently deliver within Negan and Maggie, making Season 2 well worthy of a watch." Another added: "The Walking Dead: Dead City goes weirder in season 2, with more eccentric groups, all the while continuing its introspective look at Maggie and Negan." Have the stars of Dead City said anything? While Lauren Cohan reprised her role as Maggie, a character she has played since 2011, the star also directed an episode of Dead City for its second season. Speaking about the new role, she said: "Being able to direct on a creative level is so satisfying because you collaborate with everyone and you get to you get to go into their world. You go into the production designers' world you go into the costume designers' world." She continued: "I felt like the responsibility to the fans is baked in because we know it, we love it. We just don't want to get in the way of the thing we love. And the responsibility to my co-stars, working with the actors is the best part of the whole thing because we speak the language."

How young Delhiites are fighting plastic, bagging the right habit
Whether it's getting food delivered at your doorstep or carrying home groceries from the local market, plastic bags are a convenience that have continued to stay even after several attempts to make our lives plastic free. On International Plastic Bag Free Day, today, beating plastic pollution one bag at a time are some youngsters from Delhi-NCR. Overcoming challenges of growing plastic footprint on the environmental while coming up with sustainable options, here's how they are making continuous efforts to keep eco-friendly initiatives strong. Some environmentally-conscious residents of Delhi-NCR are stepping up to tackle the plastic problem at hand. From college campuses to community corners, a growing number of environmentally conscious souls are stepping up to tackle the plastic problem, not just through awareness drives but through real, hands-on action. At Delhi University(DU)'s Sri Venkateswara College, the Enactus team is targeting one of the most plastic-heavy industries: food. 'Through Project Fankaari, we're working to eliminate plastic bags used in food packaging and delivery,' shares Ujjwal Jain, a member, adding, 'We've teamed up with traditional potters to design food-grade terracotta packaging that's not only biodegradable but preserves food quality. These alternatives are about 95% recyclable. Apart from bags, eco-friendly salad and dip bowls, their product line is growing and so is their impact. As students, we believe we have the energy and creativity to imagine new ideas and innovative solutions,' says Ujjwal. 'And being part of the Enactus, we also feel a responsibility to lead by example and push our friends and other students on campus toward more conscious consumption.' Students of Sri Venkateswara College are working towards recycling plastic bags, used in food packaging, with the help of local potters. The sense of purpose is echoed by young volunteers who are busy making Eco Brick on educational campuses across NCR. 'Over the years, people have tried many ways to cut down on plastic bag use — charging for them, encouraging cloth bags — but most of those efforts fade quickly,' says Madhuri Varshney from a Dwarka-based NGO, Rise Foundation, adding, 'What we've realised is that real change happens when you make the solution interactive and fun. So we conduct drives at several colleges across Delhi University as well as schools. After each awareness session, the youngsters are given a task to collect plastic waste from their surroundings and tightly stuff plastic bottles with plastic bags and other often discarded plastics. These bottles are then used to make Eco Bricks. It's an activity that transforms waste into something useful. More importantly, it makes students more mindful of the plastic they use every day. When they submit these eco bricks to us, we use these to build benches and stools for communities, parks, schools, etc.' The Eco Bricks made out of plastic waste are being used to build benches and stools for community spaces. Meanwhile, Recycle Mela has been regularly popping up at College of Vocational Studies (CVS) and the Faculty of Law in DU. 'We also offer a chance to the city locals at various community centres to drop off plastic bags and single-use plastic items in exchange for eco-friendly products,' informs Ruby Makhija, from Why Waste Wednesday Foundation, which organises this mela to make plastic recycling more accessible and rewarding. She adds, 'Plastic bags are a big threat, not just because they clog landfills, but because animals chew on them and marine life ingests them. Through Recycle Mela, we make disposal easy and rewarding. We visit campuses where students hand in their plastic waste, and in return, we give them notebooks made from recycled paper, reusable cloth bags, even copier paper and more. Such a reward-based exchange not only motivates participation but also shows the hidden value of what one usually throw away. Our drive has now expanded to schools, corporate offices, and local communities, with support from MCD and NDMC. We want to make recycling feel accessible and cool, especially for the youth. Plus we update about upcoming mela on our social media, so anyone can find us and join in the initiative.' For more, follow @

Bricks Bar and Kitchen in Bengaluru's Indiranagar gets the neighbourhood pub formula right
Another name has been added to the roster of bars in Indiranagar. This is the newly opened Bricks Bar and Kitchen. Located at the beginning of Indiranagar's 100 ft road, this is a rooftop bar. With two outlets in the city, another in JP Nagar, Bricks is positioning itself to be a friendly neighbourhood pub where you can drop by for a casual drink. And that is exactly what we did. Bangaloreans will know the Barbeque Nation restaurant on 100 feet road that has been a staple for ages. Bricks is located on the rooftop of the same building. My companion and I head to the second floor. Exposed brick walls and rattan lights give it a modern chic vibe. The TV screens are playing IPL matches and there is late 2000's hip-hop music on the speakers; we instantly feel at home. Signature cocktails The drinks menu has the expected selection of spirits, wines and beers. Our server was welcoming and helpful, and explained the signature cocktails to us. We order three drinks — Gin chamomile, coffee martini and raw mango margarita. The gin drink is refreshing and floral. The botanical notes of the gin and the tea go well together, but it is a tad one dimensional. The raw mango margarita is delicious. Green in colour, it has a spicy salt and chilli rim. The coffee martini was a hit. Served like an espresso martini with three coffee beans on top. The coffee is tasty, and the drink is balanced. We order a second round of these. Bar bites and main course There are many bar snacks and appetisers on the menu that pair well with drinks. The chakna platter is the first to arrive. It has masala peanuts, crispy corn and kala chana chaat. We keep nibbling on these while we catch up over drinks. The fish fingers surprise as, as we expect them to be frozen. But they are freshly made with a crumbly texture. The tandoori chicken tikka is smokey and charred. The marinade is fiery. Another surprise is the fish paturi. Steamed fish fillets are marinated in a mustard paste and steamed in banana leaves. For mains, there are Indian and Chinese picks. Wanting to try both, we get a dal makhani and naan, and a chili garlic noodles. The dal is creamy and comforting, and the butter naan is hot from the tandoor. The noodles are spicy and garlicy. Not exactly bar food in my mind, but you cannot deny its appeal after a few drinks. We skip dessert, but there is gulab jamun, ice cream and a chocolate truffle cake up for grabs. Bricks Bar and Kitchen is not reinventing the wheel. There are no 'out there' experimental dishes and gourmet ingredients, but it is doing what it does well. The warm service and strategic location are a plus. ₹1,000 for two. At Domlur, Indiranagar. For more details, call 7880114310
