Brighton's Premier League fixtures: Full 2025-26 schedule and key dates
Brighton & Albion kick off the new season against Fulham at home. Fabian Hurzeler's side, who narrowly missed out on a place in Europe after finishing eighth last season, face Everton, Manchester City, Bournemouth, Tottenham and Chelsea before the end of September. Their run includes Wolves, Leeds United and a final day clash with Manchester United. Advertisement All times in BST/GMT Last season showed that not too much should be read into another tough-looking start for Brighton. They face five other sides that finished in the top 11 in the table with Fabian Hurzeler's eighth-placed team in 2024-25 in their first eight fixtures. That includes a home opener against Fulham, followed by a tasty start to the away campaign as the first side to visit Everton's new Hill Dickinson Stadium. Hurzeler launched his reign last August with a 3-0 win at Everton's former Goodison Park home. That was the prelude to a strong early run of form in the opening 11 fixtures against seven of the eight teams in 2023-24. The German will be plotting something similar in the first two months, with early visits from Manchester City and Newcastle, plus a trip to Chelsea. They had victories against all three of those teams last time. The early sequence also includes a home game against Tottenham Hotspur under new manager Thomas Frank after ending 2024-25 with a 4-1 win away to the Europa League winners in Ange Postecoglou's final game in charge. Unexpectedly miserable league seasons last time around for Tottenham and Manchester United — the final opponents at the Amex Stadium next May — are another reason why forecasting is hazardous, especially in Brighton's case. They only took ten out of 18 points against the easily relegated trio — Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich. With that in mind, clashes against Leeds United (the final away opponents), Sunderland and Burnley between November and January offer the chance of improvement during a period which also includes a revenge mission at Selhurst Park after losing both games against traditional rivals and FA Cup winners Crystal Palace last season. The exceptional pre-Club World Cup transfer window opened on June 1 and closed nine days later on June 10. Advertisement The summer window re-opened on June 16, while the cut-off date for the 2024-25 profitability and sustainability rules (PSR) reporting period coming at the end of the month on June 30. The window closes on Monday, September 1, at 11pm BST (6pm ET). The winter transfer window opens on Thursday, January 1, and closes on Monday, February 2. The new Premier League season gets underway on the weekend of August 15-17, a week after the Community Shield on August 8, when league champions Liverpool face FA Cup winners Crystal Palace. The final match round will be played on Sunday, May 24, 2026, when all 10 matches will kick off simultaneously as usual. Premier League clubs will enter the FA Cup at the third round, which begins on Saturday, January 10. The Carabao Cup will begin in mid-August, with Premier League teams not playing in Europe entering in the second round, which starts in the week commencing August 25, and the remaining seven clubs receiving a bye to the third round, which takes place in the weeks commencing September 15 and 22.
