Hyderabad-based firm raises USD 10 million, secures Maharashtra RTC project
HYDERABAD: Hyderabad-based Brihaspathi Technologies Limited — an AI-driven surveillance and security solutions provider — has raised USD 10 million from foreign institutional investors and others. The funds will support the company's expansion, including the establishment of a new CCTV manufacturing unit in Hyderabad, which is expected to be operational by the end of this financial year. Managing Director Rajasekhar Papolu on Thursday revealed that the company has secured a major surveillance contract from the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) to implement an AI-enabled CCTV monitoring system across its network. 'Brihaspathi Technologies is also preparing for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in FY 2026-27. The proceeds will be used to enhance R&D, boost manufacturing capabilities and advance AI-based innovations,' he added.

HYDERABAD: AI surveillance and security solutions provider, Brihaspathi Technologies Limited, raised US$10 million (approx ₹86 crore) from foreign institutional investors (FIIs) and some individual investors, even as it is mulling an initial public offering in the 2026-27 financial year. While the FIIs that participated in the fundraise include Kingsman Wealth Fund PCC - Aurisse Special Opportunities Fund and Citrus Global Arbitrage Fund, the individual investors include former badminton champ Saina Nehwal. The city-based company will utilise the capital infusion to fund its expansion plans, which include setting up a new 72,000 sq ft CCTV manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. Apart from CCTV systems, the facility, which is coming up at Tuniki Bollaram, will produce laptops under Brihaspathi brand and is expected to be operational by the end of the current financial year. Currently, the company has the capacity to manufacture around 8 lakh devices per annum. The company also plans to hire about 400 more employees.

Brihaspathi Tech to set up CCTV manufacturing facility in Hyd with Rs 70 cr investment
Hyderabad, June 26 (UNI) Hyderabad-based Brihaspathi Technologies Limited, a AI surveillance and security solutions provider, is establishing a new 72,000 sq ft CCTV manufacturing facility with an investment of Rs 70 crores in Hyderabad, which is expected to be operational by December end this year. "Currently, we have one unit in Patancheru, outskirts of the city, where we are doing a small assembling. However, this new dedicated facility capacity of 2.5 lakh devices per month, would concentrate on cameras and IoT devices," the company Managing Director Rajasekhar Papolu said at a press conference here today. "We successfully deployed cameras along the border of India-Bangladesh and India-Pakistan," he said, adding "we have successfully raised USD 10 million in funding from foreign institutional investors (FIIs) and others and this capital infusion will fuel the company's expansion efforts, including the establishment of a new facility". The FIIs funding is from two companies from Mauritius and the UAE, he informed, adding that they have secured a major single order worth about Rs 100 crores from Maharashtra state government for installing of cameras in all bus stations. Without disclosing the specific amount to raise, Rajasekhar said that they are going for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the next financial year (2026-27) and the proceeds from the IPO will be utilised to strengthen its R&D capabilities, expand manufacturing facilities and advance AI-driven solutions. "70-80 per cent of our products are indigenous and some parts only imported from Taiwan and Korea," he said, adding, that to date, the company has deployed over 1.2 million CCTV cameras across India. "We have a vision to multiply our turnover," he said. "In the past three years, every year, we have been doubling our turnover and we have a strong order book of Rs 300 crores currently". "We are anticipating a 30 per cent growth in revenue during the current financial year against Rs 204 crore in the previous year," he informed. The company has a robust team of over 300 professionals at an average age of just 35 years and a pan-India presence through GST-registered offices in 19 states. He said the company is planning to hire over 400 additional employees to support its mission of delivering world-class, Made-in India AI-based security solutions. Its portfolio includes high-profile installations such as surveillance systems for the Border Security Force (BSF) along the international border, election monitoring for the Election Commission of India, AI-based classroom monitoring systems, wildlife and national park surveillance, and exam control room solutions across various states. In the past, Brihaspathi Technologies has achieved a historic milestone by deploying 64,000 CCTV cameras across 19 states in a single day for the NEET examination. With the integration of AI and rising public awareness, the industry is expected to grow at a double-digit CAGR over the next five years, offering substantial opportunities for domestic manufacturers and solution providers, he added.
